Rykah nooded, "Ok.." he began to head for the door.
(Timeskip to the park?)
(Sure)
(Shooka)
(Oh sorry! I meant to respond, but I didn’t have internet connection.)
“Sorry about that.” Will said, quietly. The pair had been sitting silently on a park bench for a while.
"It's ok.." said Rykah "You can't help the fact that I look so different…."
Will’s stomach dropped. “No! That’s not what ANY of that was about! Their was an… incident a while back. They don’t trust people to hang out with me anymore. It wasn’t you.”
"Yeah well the tail, ears, and wings don't help…" said Rykah standing up and walking down the path.
Will followed. “I promise, that’s NOT what it was. You have to believe me, they couldn’t care less about what you look like.”
"I believe you…" said Rykah.. "I'm just off to my place to get rid of my bag…" he left the path and headed for the woods.
“Bye…” Will called, dejectedly. He turned and went back to his place. When he got home, he sat in his room and avoided his siblings. They mean well, but their overprotective made it so hard to make friends.
(aww he could've just followed…)
Rykah heard him leave It's probably better anyway… he thought as he broke into a run, he ran deep into the woods, jumping logs and swinging around trees as he ran a path that no one else could have followed. he skidded down one last slope, not even caring that he was covered in dirt as he walked up to the tent he'd made under a big oak. the "tent" was more of a tarp, draped from the branches and patched up with various patches and stitches. there was a tote bin with a change of clothes, his sword, and a few other nick nacks. and a sleeping bag up in a big branch, that had some boards nailed down on it, there was an old car seat in one corner of the tarp tent, holding down the tarp. Rykah crashed into it and pulled out a sketchpad and a pencil. he began to work on a very special drawing, a picture of the tigress he'd befriended back home.
(Sorry… there’s a specific reason why he didn’t follow)
“Will?”
Will suddenly jolted out of his sleep, his face wet with tears. His brother was standing over him, his hand on the other boy’s shoulder.
“Bad dream?” Jack asked.
Will just nodded. Jack sat down next to him and out an arm around Will. “Was it about-“
Will cut him off, saying “Yes.” Quickly.
Will lay his head on Jack’s shoulder and slowly fell back asleep.
(Aww poor child… Mind If I ask what happened? or is that a detail to be revealed later on? also Timeskip til tommorrow afternoon?)
(Yeah, it’s fine. So basically the year before, Will made friends with this kid, because he’s the sweetest person ever, and the kid ended up manipulating him into some not so good stuff. Finally Will refused to do it and the kid beat him near to the point of near-death. It was really bad. And yeah, Timeskip.)
Rykah sighed as the bell went, he was glad the day was over, but he didn't really want to go back to his hideout. I guess I'll just wander around town tonight.. he thought to himself as he walked out of the courtyard.
Will had avoided Rykah all day that day, but let increasingly guilty. Finally, he saw Rykah. Instead of calling his name, Will quietly pulled up next to him. “Hey.”
Rykah looked at him, "Hi" he said with a small smile, this time he didn't bother acting like Will was a nuisance, he really did want to be friends. "So what's up?"
Will sighed with relief. “Nothing. I got an A on the Potions test!” He said excitedly.
"Nice!" said rykah, "My Combat class is going well too."
“Cool!” Will thought for a moment, and said, “Hey, there’s this new cafe downtown. You wanna go?”
"Sure" said Rykah, "I just want to drop off my bag first." he said heading towards the park again.
Will followed this time, telling Rykah about the substitute teacher in Spellcasting. “And she literally made the kid fly! As a punishment! Some kids helped him down, and then a girl cursed the teacher. It went downhill from there, although it doesn’t seem like it could.” Will talked a lot. A lot. No matter where he was or where he was doing, he was probably talking. And he talked fast and loud. His brother and sister were the only people who didn’t yell at him about it. “And you wouldn’t think they’d even need a substitute in the first week of school!”
Rykah laughed, Glad he didn't have to talk, then as they got to the edge of the woods he stopped, "Will can you wait here for me?" he asked not wanting Will to see where he lived,
“I can come with you.” Will said, so caught up in his stories that he didn’t pick up on Rykah’s unease.
