Everyone suggested something different, such as Clue, Monopoly, The Game of Life, and Risk. “What do you think, Rykah? You like any of those options?” Anna asked.
Everyone suggested something different, such as Clue, Monopoly, The Game of Life, and Risk. “What do you think, Rykah? You like any of those options?” Anna asked.
Anna began to open her mouth to wonder loudly how he couldn’t know any of those games, but Will cut her off. “Let’s just play Monopoly.”
Will reached for his hand as everyone sat down at the table. Anna got the game out, and Jesse began setting up. Finn looked somewhat alarmed, but didn’t say anything.
Rykah took it, and went with him.
“I’ll be right back.” Finn said, getting up and heading towards where Jack had disappeared to.
Will raised an eyebrow, but figured Finn would handle it.
Eventually, they had the game set up, and Finn and Jack were both still missing.
Will nodded. “Let’s just start the game, I have a feeling they won’t be back for a little while.”
Once Anna’s turn was over, and she had already bought an expensive property that she didn’t need, she handed the dice to Rykah. “Your turn.”
Rykah rolled, moving his piece accordingly, ending up on a valuble property himself, and buying.
Will smiled and took the dice, rolling and winding up getting paid by Anna from a community chest card. He then handed the dice to Jesse, who got sent to jail.
Rykah waited for Anna to take her turn again, sympathizing with Jesse.
Eventually, everyone had had several turns, when finally Finn came back, having apparently gone upstairs without anybody noticing.
“Is he ok?” Anna asked gently.
Finn nodded.
Rykah glanced down at the board, and his properties, "Are we letting Finn join? or is it too late?"
“I’m not going to join today.” Finn answered. “I’ll go back upstairs in a moment.”
Rykah watched him for a moment, nodding.
“Actually, Finn, you can take my place.” Will said, getting up.
Finn’s face didn’t change, but his tone of voice did. “You need to stay down here.” He said, not angrily, but in a tone that immediately made everyone who knew him well nervous.
“Why?” Will asked.
“I’ll go check on him in a second.” Finn replied firmly.
Will frowned. He then turned on his heel and walked upstairs.
Rykah tensed at the exchange, but knew better than to question Will.
Finn watched Will leave, and although his face still remained completely stoic, his eyes betrayed the fact that he was extremely upset with Will.
Upstairs, Will carefully opened his brother’s door. The first thing he heard was heavy breathing, and the sound of someone crying.
Will walked in, and quickly shut the door behind him. His brother was leaning against the wall, with his arms around his knees. “Jack?”
Rykah looked up at Finn, "He'll be fine ok?" he said gently, "He's probably handeled whatever it is before."
Finn looked st Rykah for a second, and then said, “This is more serious than Will is prepared to handle.”
Upstairs, Will knelt down in front of Jack. He hesitantly put his hand out, resting it on Jack’s shoulder. Instead of the reaction he had been hoping for, Will was met with Jack grabbing his arm and twisting it, then shoving Will away.
Rykah supressed a look of concern, "He'll be fine…"
Finn smiled. “Your faith in Will astounds me.”
“Jack, it’s me.” Will tried.
“Leave me alone!” Was all he was met with.
“It’s your brother, you’re fine.”
“Just leave me alone, please!” Jack begged.
Rykah gave him a flat look, "Will can handle my nightmares… I'm sure he can handle Jack's"
Finn winced, and he looked up st the ceiling, where Jack’s room would be.
“Jack, come on. Listen. It’s your brother, Will. You’re at home, in your room.”
Jack just shook his head, whimpering.
Rykah watched him carefully, listening for any signs of trouble from upstairs.
“I’m goijg up there.” Finn decided finally. He could hear Jack’s thoughts from downstairs, and Will’s we’re getting increasingly louder, and that only meant that there was an issue.
