Levi laughed, he wasn't sure of what to say. So James is the same as me? Levi wondered how long James had been with Cicada. He walked a behind them, keeping an eye out for anyone out of the ordinary. There was nothing so far… but you could never be sure. He stayed on guard, almost too on guard that he started to forget what he was actually there to do. There has to be something. Levi has always been one not to trust people much, he's been tricked played around with and betrayed too many times.
Cicada had a grin on and was humming to herself as they walked around the alcove. She couldn't spot any signs of recent activity anywhere and figured that they might be in the clear. James was walking beside her looking around. He spoke quietly, "It doesn't look like there's anything around. When are you going to tell him?"
"Eventually," Cicada whispered back harshly. She glanced back at Levi and then to the woods, "If you think we're in the all clear then why are you whispering?"
"You can never be too careful," James responded in a normal tone that time.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever you say," Cicada rolled her eyes with a little grin as she also returned to her normal speaking tone, "Levi have you seen anything?"
Just as Cicada ask he ran over and jumped on the two. "Stay low." There was something shiny in the bushes. Then it happened the sound of a gun echoed through the alcove. "What the hell man!" A guy yelled as he stood from there spot. "You just alerted anyone who could come through here." The next one that stood was younger and probably in training. He rubbed the back of his neck a little disappointed in himself. "Well Damn." Levi whispered. He hoped the others weren't running into more trouble. Levi wanted to move off of the two but he was afraid of being spotted. "Well Captain, what should we do?"
Cicada grunted as she was thrust to the ground. She was about to tell Levi off when the gunshot sounded. She took a deep breath as she watched the two for a moment. She glanced at James who seemed to be on the same thought. She whispered to Levi, "We'll have to take them down and interrogate them. We need to know if others know about this spot."
"We need to get them to turn around or something. If we stand now we'll be shot." Levi slowly moved off the two. Levi thought for a moment trying to think of something. He pick up a rock and thre it as hard as he can while laying down. Just barely did it make it to the other side of them, making them turn. "We should move now."
James pulled out his pistol as he slowly stood up and aimed it at them. Cicada silently stood up next to him and quietly drew her blade. The two navy men could easily turn around and shoot, but Cicada had confidence James would be faster. Cicada motioned for Levi to move to the left of them while Cicada started going to the right. They needed to make it look like there were more than just three people here before they tried something.
James didn't have a weapon on him, but he was confident in his skills. He could probably easily take the gun from the younger one. He tried to take light steps so that the sand wouldn't make to much noise. As the older man taught the younger one to properly shoot his gun, Levi looked to Cicada for permission to attack and take the gun. (I'm going to be busy for a while so I'm sorry if my replies are short or if I don't answer for a while.)
(That's fine.)
Cicada saw him and gave Levi a slight nod. She hoped the risk would be worth the reward because otherwise this would be a mess. James was ready to go when given the go or if things went south like he always was.
Levi snuck up and at the right moment knocked the boy to the ground and grabbed his gun. The other gay turned, but he was met with a barrel of a gun to his face. "You will tell no one of this." He looked down and saw the gun in the Navy mans hand. "Drop it." He did as Levi instructed and Levi kicked it towards Cicada and James. He then began to walk back still pointing the gun at the man and kid. "Now what?"
Cicada stepped forward and James walked along. His gun was lowered, but he was being careful as he moved. Cicada gave a nod and a grin to Levi, "Nice work. I can take it from here." Her grin turned feral as she faced the two Navy boys, "Now now what do we have here?" She danced her blade a little in the light before pointing it at them and asking in a malicious tone, "You're going to tell us who knows about this place and what your doing here or you'll meet a fate worse than death. Don't try to run by the way my crew and I have this place surrounded."
Levi backed away letting Cicada take the lead. The older navy guy just smiled. "The whole Navy knows about this place now. You think we haven't noticed Pirates coming from here?" He spat. He thought that the pirates must think they are dumb, but they aren't. Levi hated the navy. They were smart ass's, thinking they knew everything. "If you don't tell us how many people are here, I'll shot the boy." Levi moved the barrel of his gun towards the boy. The older man just shrugged and smiled. "Do it. He's not very good at his job anyway." How could he say that? The navy easily throw someone away like that?
Cicada was scowling as she pulled her blade on the older man. She figured the alcove wouldn't have lasted forever, but it was nice to have had it while it was there. She pushed her cutlass closer to the man's throat, "Then I guess you'll have to be the one to die. Boy, tell us how many people are here and maybe we'll spare both your lives."
"I-I don't know. They don't tell me these things." He stuttered. Levi felt a bit bad. It reminded him of his old self, the days when his father abandoned him and he had no one to turn to. That was until the navy heard of his skills and took him in. Were they like family? No, not to him. They just used him. Now look at him, he was a pirate. And he quite enjoyed it. "I believe him." Levi walked over closer to Cicada and whispered, "The Navy tends to keep important information from the new recruits."
Cicada scowled as she heard this new information. She put her sword away and pulled her pistol out before shooting the older man without hesitation. The younger one hadn't done anything wrong and the older one had been a dick. She turned and began walking away, "I would advise running if you value your life boy." She didn't say anything else as she left the area and went back towards the shoreline. They would have to skip this city and head to the another part of the shoreline towards a city further up the coast. It would take a bit, but hopefully no other hitches would occur. James looked to Levi and made a slight head motion to follow as he left after Cicada.
The boy began to run. Levi could already guess what he was thinking, I'm not cut out for this. Unlike Levi who thought he was perfect for the job. He was never afraid to do any dirty work. Stopping he took one last look behind him and watched the boy run. "Which city is next?" There where plenty between here and wherever they were going. As they neared the ship he saw Lily and the others waiting on the shoreline.
"Kirlio if I remember right," Cicada responded as she looked to Breeze. The medic responded with a sigh, "You guys too?" Cicada nodded and went to the lifeboat, "Let's just get back to the Firefly and start off towards Kirlio. We'll have to tell the crew what happened." Breeze looked over James, Cicada, and Levi, "None of you got hurt, right?" Cicada looked at Breeze, "We're all fine, can't say the same for the others though." James let out a sigh, "Cap' just increased her bounty at least double." Breeze thought for a moment, "Probably only by a little bit. Her bounty's high enough already."
"What's her story?" He was interested on know how she became a pirate, and a captain at that. There's not many female pirate captains. He made sure to say it quietly so that she wouldn't hear. He could just imagine her saying to stay out of her business. But something about her interests him, he wasn't sure what it was though. He followed behind keeping an eye on her and just watching how she moved and interacted with the others. She didn't seem to strict with them, and it felt more like a family than a crew.
James and Breeze gave a glance to each other. It was the Captain's private life, but both had seen a fair share of it. Breeze was the one to speak up, "It's her story to tell, and she'll tell you. She tells anyone who asks once she trusts ya. But I'll tell ya she's spent most her life on the sea, whether sailing alone or with her folks. At least until they passed that is." James gave a little nod and looked to Levi, "You can push all you want, but that's all any of us will tell you. You'll get answers, I promise."
It was understandable, Levi probably wouldn't say much about his past unless he trusted them. He nodded and continued to follow them. He'll ask at some point, but not now. Lily started to walk a little slower for Levi to catch up. "So, the captain shot someone? Man her bounty is going to get way to high." Lily laughed and pulled her hair back. On the back of her neck was a scar that Levi only noticed till now. Levi pushed the boat into the water more so it would be easier to get going.
Cicada and James helped push in as well before hopping aboard. Breeze had jumped on already and looked over to Lily with a slight grin, "I know. And it'll go higher once they realize who sank the navy ship. Probably break the record for the highest bounty on a single person." James glanced over at Breeze, "Even your's 'Witch Doctor'?" Breeze waved him off, "My bounty was never that high anyway's 'Salt Shaker'." Cicada rolled her eyes and grinned at them, "Hush both of you. Breeze, no matter how salty James may be, respect his wanted name." Breeze let out a slight groan as James let out a hearty laugh. Anyone could tell those the three had a deep bond that no one on the crew could quite match.
"Does everyone here have a unusual wanted name?" Levi asked, not able to hold back his smile. He liked this, it felt like family. Sweat dripped down his face as he rowed the small boat back to the ship. Why does it have to be so hot? Once at the side of the ship, someone from above threw down a rope ladder for them to climb up on. Levi waited for the girls to go first. Since he was still a gentleman, even if he is a pirate now.
"Most do," Cicada responded as she grabbed the end of the rop and allowed Breeze to climb up first, "Most got their name while a part of the crew like James while others like Breeze were a known criminals beforehand," Breeze had reached the top and now Lily was climbing up, "We don't know what the navy is thinking at this point."
"Well, let's hope the next town doesn't give us any trouble." Once Lily was up Levi climbed up after. "So, Breeze, what were you convinced of before joining the crew?" Lily pulled her hair up into a bun. Her blonde hair almost looked brown because of how dirty it was. "I can't wait to wash off." She said as she headed to the bunker for some drinking water. Levi wasn't sure what to do, so he followed to where Cicada was.
"I was wanted for my 'illegal' medicinal selling," Breeze said with heavy emphasis on the illegal part, "Basically the government was jealous a little girl could make medicine better than any of them could." Cicada hopped up top and began walking towards her quarters gesturing for Levi to follow after her. She said nothing to him and walked in silently while James told River what had happened on shore. The two gave a slight nod to each other before yelling out new orders to make way to Kirlio.
