Miguel thought for a minute, "I don't really think so…I'm good as of right now." He replied looking over at Severin, "Though I do have a question…how long will I have to wait to get out of this forest?"
Miguel thought for a minute, "I don't really think so…I'm good as of right now." He replied looking over at Severin, "Though I do have a question…how long will I have to wait to get out of this forest?"
Severin nodded, then thought for a moment. "I…do not know." He replied slowly. "Sorry. It depends on a large number of factors, not all of which are under my control."
Miguel didn't reply, just frowned slightly and turned away looking out over the balcony watching the forest down below.
Severin sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I am sorry about that, Miguel. But I am not the only one in this forest with a vested interest in its protection." He said.
"I understand…" Miguel responded quietly, "I just have trouble with being in new places, that's all." He said.
Severin nodded. "I see. Again, my apologies." He replied, leaning his forearms on the edge of the balcony as he looked down at the forest below.
"It's not your fault so no need to keep apologizing…" Miguel felt ready to finally ask some of his questions, "What is is your role in the forest, by that I mean, What do you do?"
Severin cocked his head slightly. "Hm. I am…sort of a guardian. Of sorts. I protect it and the animals and creatures inside from those who would cause then harm. And I protect everyone else from them, as well." Something dark flashed in his eyes for a moment. "Some creatures in here would like nothing better than to tear you apart, piece by piece."
"O-oh good to know…" Miguel responded to the last bit, "Being a guardian is cool."
Severin shrugged. "Yes." He replied simply. "Bu those very creatures are the reason it is so dangerous for you in the forest, and why you should not leave your room." He kept his eyes in the trees.
"Hmm, okay. I'll listen to you then. Also is this your true identity or is it still an illusion?" Miguel asked glancing over at Severin.
Severin blinked. "This is what I look like." He replied, glancing at Miguel. "Why, were you expecting something…different?" He arched an eyebrow.
Miguel shook his head, "No I just wasn't sure because you were just a mysterious shadow last night so I didn't know if it was just another illusion."
Severin shook his head. "The shadow was an illusion. That is all." He replied, looking out at the forest again.
"Oh, alright then." Miguel didn't know what else to talk about so he just looked back out to the forest like Severin was.
Severin sighed. "So…how did you end up in this forest?" He asked, glancing at Miguel for a moment, then back out at the woods.
"I'm not too sure…one moment I was taking a walk on in my town next one blink and I'm in the forest." Miguel responded, lightly biting his lip.
Severin nodded. "You did not choose to come here." He said. "That makes sense."
“Mhm,” Miguel nodded, “So what kinds of things will try and kill me?” He asked
"All of them." Severin replied. He shook his head. "If they are in the gardens, they're most likely harmless. Ditto if they are in the house for whatever reason. Otherwise…" he shrugged.
