“amy (the most wonderful woman in the world), I’m fine really,” Lucifer grinned and kissed the little boy’s forehead. “You be good okay?”

“Okay… I’m just making sure.” Jamie murmured.

“Okay! I will!” The boy exclaimed, waving goodbye to his favorite demon ever.

Lucifer waved goodbye. “Let’s get back now. I’m a little tired…” Lucifer took off and yawned.

Jamie waved goodbye himself and smiled. "Bye mom! Bye dad! Bye!!!" He waved goodbye again before taking off after Lucifer. "Wait up love! I'm on my way!"

Lucifer leaned his head on Jamie’s shoulder when he caught up with him. “I wish my family was like yours. It’s so…happy…”

"They're all I could ask for. I love them all." He murmured softly, smiling at Lucifer. "Let's go, love. I'm ready to head back to your place."

Lucifer smiled a started to fly to his house. In his mind he frowned and his chest hurt. He felt guilty. He hated the way he was taking Jamie away from his family. Asking him to be his queen, it felt even worse. Jamie would have to be by his side 24/7. His brother wanted him back so badly because he loved him so much. “I have something to ask you when we get home okay?” Lucifer grinned. Maybe I should let him go…

“Okay!” Jamie beamed, flapping his wings excitedly. He was glad to be with Lucifer but he did admit he missed his family terribly so…
“What do you need to ask?”

“I said when I get home didn’t I?” He giggled. “Why are you in such a rush?”

Jamie grinned, giggling along with Lucifer. “I’m curious, you’re keeping me on edge!” He replied, grinning wider. “I’m curious!!”

"Okay. How about we go above the clouds and I'll ask you there hm?" Lucifer grinned and started to fly up.

Jamie giggled happily, following Lucifer up towards the clouds. “Okay!! I like the clouds. It’s pretty up there.”

Lucifer flew above the clouds and stared into the sky. "That question…don't be mad at me for it…"

Jamie looked around, soaking up the peace he felt. That peace soon disappeared at Lucifer’s words.
“What is it…? Is something wrong?”

Lucifer turned to Jamie. "I love you, you know that." Lucifer smile faded. "I just think that you should have a life. Being with me…it's ruining your life. You're not caught up with school, you haven't seen you family in a week. Of course, we can still get married. You just won't see me…at all. You'll be in school and I'll be in hell guiding souls. I want you more than anything to be my queen. Right by my side. My second in command, but you can't. You have a life, a family. I can't take that away from you. Did you see your brothers face? He missed you Jamie and I…taking his only brother away from him…it isn't right. Please, understand where I'm coming from here."

Jamie took Lucifer’s hands, looking shocked. “W-what are you saying…?” He asked, his hands moving to cup Lucifer’s face.

“I want to be with you… I can’t live if I can’t see you! Please don’t push me away… is there no way I can visit my family every now and then?! Can’t we make a deal or some way for it to work?”

Lucifer shook his head. "I'm not pushing you away. There is no other way. I can still get married to you and you can stay with me until my coronation. I don't know what's going to happen. I just won't be able to see you. I don't want your family to suffer because I want to be with you. I'm not saying I won't love you or we're braking up, I'm jut saying after I become king, you need to go home. Please…"

“But I want to see you everyday… I want to be able to kiss and hug you…” Jamie looked tormented, like he had just been asked to cut his own tongue off. “C-can’t I come visit you…? Can I come down on weekends…?”

"Jamie please!" Lucifer yelled. "You're not a demon. I'm not letting you fall either. If you do, I won't forgive you okay? Don't change yourself for me okay? Once you come to hell you can't get out. You know this. I won't be able to leave if I become king because thousands of people die everyday. I'm telling you because I love you. Let's just enjoy the next few days we have okay? Please that's all I'm asking." Lucifer begged.

Jamie shook his head, pulling away from Lucifer. “I-I can’t… I can’t marry you and then never see you again… do you hear how crazy that sounds!? What am I supposed to do without you…” he whimpered, shaking his head. “I can’t… There’s…”

The angel drew away from his love, shaking his head. His tone grew bitter. “I’m not marrying you if I’ll never see you again, Lucifer. It would be better for us to breakup if you want me to stay here… if I can’t see my husband then why would I marry him….”

The words hurt.
They hurt bad.
Jamie needed Lucifer just as much as he needed to breath. So much that he couldn’t look at the other as he spoke those harsh words.

Lucifer's eyes started to swell up with tears. "Jamie…please don't do this. I'm trying the best I can to work this out. Don't break up with me I begging you. I'm trying…I really am…please marry me, don't do this. Please…" Lucifer moved towards Jamie and took his hands. "Every time I look at the ring on my hand it'll remind me of us. When I stumbled into you. When I touched your sensitive feathers by accent. When I kiss you for the first time. When we took a bath together. When you held my hand through the pain. Please, don't leave me."

Jamie sniffled, trying time stop his tears from crying. “You can’t just leave me…” he whimpered, his voice nearly a whisper. “It feels like you’re going to marry me and then leave me… I can’t go through that pain, Lucifer! I’ve been with you for so long and you’re telling me that the second we marry you’re going to leave me and I’ll never see you again!?”

Lucifer shook his head. "Maybe in the future we'll be able to see each other. I won't leave right after our marriage. I just need to know that you love me even though we're apart. Isn't that what a relationship is? I'm not leaving you, We're just going on a very long vacation with our families. Please, don't let go of my hand. Don't do it. I need you!' Lucifer begged.

Jamie sobbed, shaking his head. He wrapped his arms tightly around Lucifer and broke completely down. “I can’t lose you…. I can’t go that long…” he sobbed, clutching at Lucifer’s shirt.

“Can’t you make a gateway for me when you’re king!? Can’t you do something!? I can’t go that long without out you!!!”

"I'm trying Jamie! I am, but I don't know if I can go through and leaving the demon world with no king. I just ask that you wait. Please…" Lucifer took Jamie's hand that had the ring on. "Just whenever you feel lonely just kiss this ring and it's like I'm already there. I'll do the same for you. Please I….please don't leave….A hour down there is a day up here so I ask that you wait for me. Don't let go of my hand…please…" Lucifer eyes began to flicker out of control. He was scared and overwhelmed with sadness.
