“Don’t say that— every single ally is an asset. I just hope Growlithe get’s along with Electrike well…,” Tiki replied, walking over to stand beside Kekoa. “Growlithe, can you do that, bud?”
The fire type narrowed his eyes over to Electrike, letting out a little puff of smoke with an affirmative bark. He then nodded, almost like a bow to the other pokémon.
“Alright, knew I could trust you. I’m actually surprised— not many pokémon earn his trust so fast as Skitty or your Electrike here.” Tiki turned to look at Kekoa, still cradling his Chespin in his arms.
He then broke his attention away, back to the rest of the field. His other pokemon, Jangmo-o and Ampharos, had lined up on the sidelines with Dallas’s, already beginning to call and cheer for no one in particular.
“Anyway, you all ready?” he asked, voice raised so the rest could hear him.

@Exis

Dallas nodded in affirmative. "Madyson and I agreed—you've got the first move," she called with a smile. Sneasel crossed her arms in a confident demeanor, although it was easy to tell she was just as eager as her trainer to prove herself.

@Exis

(That sounds good! At the very least, we should play it out slowly and make sure everyone has time to respond before moving on. I keep forgetting it's Halloween tho, lol… So Happy Halloween!!)

Tiki gave a whole-hearted smile, nodding to Growlithe as the pup looked back to his trainer for confirmation.
“Growlithe, you wanna try out that new move we learned the other day?” Tiki asked, prompting. The pup looked back to the field, barking in response— a puff of smoke blowing through his teeth as he did so.
“Alright, then. Let’s start this off with some friendly fire— use helping hand!” the trainer called, shooting a smirk over to Kekoa. Growlithe quickly followed the words with a roar,— well, as much of a roar as a little pup could muster— golden energy radiating off of him and flowing over to his dual battle partner. Growlithe looked over to the Electrike, offering a challenging smile and dip of his head as the gold energy later dispersed.

(This move basically just buffs all of Electrike’s moves, if you didn’t know)

Kekoa gave a fist pump and a smile in response before pointing at Electrike, "Alright Electrike! Now that we've been give a boost, lets use Quick Attack on Dedenne!" Electrike let out an excited bark, got into position and charged at the small duel type Pokemon.

@Exis

Dallas threw her hand in the air, shouting, "Cover Dedenne, Sneasel, and use icy wind on Electrike!" The Sneasel shot forward with surprising speed, skidding to a halt in front of Dedenne and executing the move.

Kekoa's eyes widened at the speed of the ice type and didn't have time to have Electrike dodge it. The electric type managed to hit the Sneasel instead of Dedenne but it wasn't as powerful as it could've been and he took some damage from the ice attack.

@Exis

"Shake it off Sneasel, you're doing great!" Dallas called reassuringly. Sneasel flexed her claws and answered energetically. "Steer clear of Electrike and use metal claw on Growlithe!"

( @No-Im-Not-Important dang, I apologize for not editing the title (I forgot I can now that I can access this account again), but I wrote on the first page that this is closed now! I'll edit the title now to prevent any future confusion… I'm sorry again!)

He’s too slow to avoid the metal claw— the ice type’s fast. He can’t tank it, either, Tiki thought to himself, gritting his teeth.
“Alright, Growlithe, meet it with bite!” he replied, unable to keep from smiling wider. It had been so long since he battled anyone, the adrenaline was sure getting to him.
The Growlithe obliged, and instead of dodging Sneasel’s attack, bit down with pulsing black fangs onto the claws, holding it there for as long as he could stand it. It was clear it was difficult, his jaws straining as he locked Sneasel dead in the eye.
“Now, use leer!” he called, watching with excitement as the Growlithe’s eyes narrowed, glowing that piercing orange. His bite gave out, letting go of Sneasel’s claw reluctantly.

@Exis

Sneasel gave a startled look at the unexpected play, but quickly adapted to the pressure of Growlithe's bite. When it gave, however, she stumbled backwards—leaving her less than admirable defense capabilities struggling to keep up.

Dedenne came to the rescue at the perfect time, though, giving Sneasel the opportunity to create distance between them.

"Use ice punch on Electrike! Don't let him help Growlithe!" Dallas ordered, and her pokémon grinned, gearing up for the move. With any luck, the effects of the icy wind attack from before would continue to hamper the electric type's speed.

@Exis

(Also just an fyi, murphysgirl, try to avoid posts that aren't ambiguous—it'd be preferable to give the other character a chance to react, and since this is a roleplay instead of a regular story, it'd be better to let Squijet decide if Electrike avoids the move in time or not!)

Kekoa grimaced as he thought of the ice types speed. He quickly shouted out to Electrike who was still trying to shake off the ice attack, "Electrike! There's no way you can dodge this attack so meet the attack with Shock Wave!" Electrike growled and let off sparks of energy in response, readying himself to relesae the electric attack.

Unable to retreat in time, Growlithe stood his ground and took the nuzzle from Dedenne with clenched teeth.
“Alright, Growlithe! Let’s see if we can do ember this time! Give it all you got!” Tiki commanded, the Growlithe huffing off an electric puff in reply.
It was clear his muscles were tensed, but he wasn’t quite paralyzed yet. The pup took in a deep breath, smoke coiling from his nostrils as he shot out a cloud of embers at the mouse pokemon in close quarters. It wasn’t the best move to do close-range, due to the backlash Growlithe could get, but the bite on Sneasel’s metal claw had left his jaw more achey than satisfactory.
Tiki then looked over to the trainer by his side.
“Kekoa, does Electrike know spark?” he asked frantically, grinning. “I have an idea.”
