"Oh dear…" Kekoa sighed as Madyson and Tiki took off with their Pokemon. Even his Pokemon took off, with Skitty close behind Growlithe, Electrike attempting to pass Madyson and Absol, and Glameow keeping pace with Ampharos. Kekoa didn't feel like running so he walked after the others as he though about the upcoming battle.
Sneasel and Helioptile immediately bolted towards the center at the challenge, the former leaving Chimchar to try and catch up. The rest of Dallas' team walked with her, as all of them knew there was no beating the weasel-like pokemon.
When they all reached the court, Dallas looked to the other trainers. "How do you guys want to pair up?"
(Also fyi, I figure in terms of who wins/loses, we can have someone chose a random number and whoever gets closest to it can win the battle, unless they want to lose for whatever reason.)
(Okay sounds good. We can do a random number generator from 1-10 and everyone can pick a number and whoever's closest has their team win. How about for the team ups I put all our names in name picker and get teams off of that?)
(Sure, sounds good to me!)
(I'll go four, when we get there lol)
(Wait, I've got an idea. Exis, since you and me have picked even numbers, why don't River and Squijet pick odd numbers? That way, when we run the number generator, who wins depends on whether it's an even or an odd number.)
(Ooh, that's hella smart, actually. Would probably be easier, too)
(Although that does assume Dallas and Madyson are a team, and Tiki and Kekoa the other)
(Let's wait for Squijet and River to approve our idea, and then we can go from there. How's that sound? :) )
(I'm perfectly fine with whatever!)
(Yeah, sounds good! And honestly I think Tiki would pair up with Kekoa anyway. Anything works for me! (And so sorry I replied so late))
(No problem! So even is Dallas and Madyson, and odd is Tiki and Kekoa. I'm going to run the number generator from 0-1000 and I'll let you know in the next post which team is going to win! Also I feel like this goes without saying, but on my honor as a nerd, I won't cheat.)
(Alright, the number generator has spoken! It looks like Tiki and Kekoa are going to be the winners this time around, with the grand number of 937. Feel free to respond as normal now! :3 )
(awesome! Thanks Exis :)
Tiki, arriving just shortly after Madyson, nearly doubled over. The kid was not a runner, and carrying a very dead-weight Chespin meant it was difficult. Still, he tried his best, panting like a dog before regaining his composure just in time to see Growlithe and Skitty tumbling into a ball.
“Growlithe, dude—,” Tiki muttered, trying to dim his smile to show somewhat authority. “Save your energy, bud!”
Kekoa came up behind Tiki, laughing at him and the wrestling Pokemon, "He's right!" He called out to Skitty, "Why don't you come back over here for now, Growlithe needs his energy, you two can play later!" Skitty sat up and flicked her tail in annoyance before bopping Growlithe with her paw as a goodbye and going back over to Kekoa. At this time, Glameow and Electrike were back over by Kekoa as well. Glameow immediately held Skitty's tail down and began to groom her. She would groom Electrike later, he was about to fight so if she were to clean him now, she'd have to do it all over again.
Dallas hummed as a thought struck her. "Hey Sneasel, who do you want to battle?" The ice type cocked her head curiously, then smirked. She pointed to first to Growlithe, then Electrike. Dallas rolled her eyes fondly at the dual type, then looked to the others. "Are you guys alright with that? Madyson and I versus Tiki and Kekoa?"
“I’m totally down. Growlithe, up for the challenge?” Tiki replied, looking down to the fire pup.
Growlithe, now that Skitty was gone, held his posture high again to glance down to Sneasel, bark all pompous and proud as he replied in a diminutive growl.
“Alright, I’ll take that as a yes,” he continued, looking to Kekoa. “What do you think? Team-up sound good?”
Kekoa didn't respond for a moment because his gaze was fixated on the Sneasel. He quickly snapped out of it though and smiled over at Tiki, "Yeah, works for me! Whaddya say Electrike?" Electrike barked and raced around in a circle.
"Here, I'll choose Dedenne." Madyson took a Poké Ball out of her pocket and tossed it; Dedenne appeared and scampered in a circle, making happy, chirping noises.
Absol purred softly and rubbed against Madyson's leg.
"Sorry, Abs. Dedenne and I need to do some training." She patted Absol's soft fur.
"Alright, then let's start!" Dallas exclaimed, a glimmer of excitement in her eyes. She turned to her team and directed them all to the side of the court with the words, "Make sure to pay attention—there's a lot you can learn from friendly battles." With that, she beckoned Sneasel and walked to the right side of the court, waiting for Madyson, Tiki and Kekoa to take their places. "Hey Madyson, you alright with giving the other team first move? I'd like to try something."
(Hey I just wanted to let you guys know that I won't be very active today because it's Halloween and all.)
Kekoa took his place and turned to Tiki, "You ready for this? Sorry if I'm the reason we lose, Electrike is a good fighter but we're not the best." Electrike barked, letting them know that he would try his hardest.
