"First here first pick of the seats." Eli said, looking around at the empty hallway by the door.
"First here first pick of the seats." Eli said, looking around at the empty hallway by the door.
"Yes. Let's sit at the back. It's the best spot." Damian walked in and sat at his normal spot, gesturing for Eli to sit next to him. "Hey, you wanna come over to my house this afternoon?"
Eli blushed lightly and nodded, taking up the seat next to Damian, "Sure, I'd love to."
"You two shut up," Ms Maxwell barked as she walked into the classroom. "I don't wanna hear a peep outta either of you."
Eli bit his lip, looking down at his lap before he mumbled a very, very quiet, "Sorry."
Damian began to write down a small note in his book. On it was a reminder of his address and a time of when best to come over. He very discretely passed it to Eli when Ms Maxwell wasn't looking.
Eli took the note and pocketed it, sending Damian a small smile in thanks since he couldn't verbally express his gratitude.
Other students began to filter into the classroom, so Damian began to get his books out. Maths came easy to him, he was already ahead of the class.
Eli on the other hand, wasn't the greatest at maths. Then again he'd never been the best at anything that wasn't painting or drawing. He pulled out his own books, disappointed to find what was supposed to be homework was a mess of scribbled flowers.
(omigod I'm so sorry. I opened this on my phone and completely forgot to reply)
Damian doodled. What else were you supposed to do to pass the time in a class you were excelling at? He doodled a lot of things, all pertaining to a certain someone.
(It's all good)
Eli tried his hardest to figure out the problems presented to him. He really did. But every time he tried, the numbers didn't make any sense and then suddenly he was crossing at the problem and trying again.
Damian glanced up, checking to see what Ms Maxwell was teaching. Yep. He'd done it already. He should probably use this time to work on his English assignment. Luckily there was an online textbook, so he pulled out his laptop to pretend to do that.
Eli tried not to get too stressed out at the work load and hoped that maybe later tonight Damian could help him. Not that he could ask now, otherwise Ms Maxwell would certainly give him a detention.
Damian quickly got to work on his English assignment. It was pretty easy. He was the kid to have everything come to him. Not because he was rich, or because his parents were high up. He was a hard worker and smart because of it.
Eli on the other hand, wasn't. All he did was work and work and still didn't get it. He glanced over at Damian, nudging him gently.
Damian didn't notice the nudging at first. When he finally felt it, he glanced over at Eli. "Yeah, what's up?"
Eli bit his lip, looking down at the work with slight embarrassment, "I don'tâĤ understand the work."
"Oh, what don't you understand? I could easily help you? What question is it?"
"All of it. The- The numbers don't make sense and I don't get the method.."
"Oh, ok." Damian pulled out his workbook. He always did an explanation of what questions were in the first question he did, just in case he struggled later and needed help.
Eli released a sigh of relief, "Thank you.." He looked up, towards the teacher, hoping she wasn't listening.
Damian handed over his book, moving back to his English assignment. He was sure that the explanations would help. He wished that he could verbally help Eli, but that would not sit in Ms Maxwell's books.
The explanations did help, now the only problem was Eli day dreaming. He managed a few questions, but in the end he got lost in his own head before the bell rang.
Damian packed up his stuff, having made only a little bit of headway in English. He grabbed his book off Eli and put it into his bag. "Hey, I can help you tonight if you need it. Just bring your books and I can verbally help."
"Could you?" Eli's face lit up, much like a puppy being given a treat, "Oh gosh thank you! I'd hug you but.. you know. I'm useless at maths and well, everything that isn't art."
