“You’ve got to, Connor!” Wilhelm shrugged simply, throwing his hands up in a “not my problem” manner. “I don’t make the rules!”
“You’ve got to, Connor!” Wilhelm shrugged simply, throwing his hands up in a “not my problem” manner. “I don’t make the rules!”
Connor let out a loud, dramatic sigh. "But ah don't want to!" he insisted.
“Well geez, I don’t know what to say! I can’t believe anyone wouldn’t want to spend their evenings doing work!” Wilhelm scoffed in faux-distaste. “I’m shocked, truly.”
(I gtg to bed now. this will be my last reply)
Connor rolled his eyes, shaking his head a little. "Shocked, are you?" he replied with a laugh.
(gn!)
“Absolutely baffled.” Wilhelm smiled gently, running his fingers through his hair.
Connor stretched a little bit. "Good." He replied. "I like an air of mystery." He winked, laughing.
Wilhelm raised his eyebrows. “Oh, you do, do you? I’ll keep that in mind.” He took another sip of his water, ignoring the way his heart skipped a beat as Connor winked at him. “Ah, but in all seriousness, you should get your work done. Not that I don’t think you will, of course.” He added, fixing his posture.
Connor grimaced. "Ah'll do it, ah'll do it." He replied, leaning his head on the table. "Bu' ah will nae do it cheerfully."
“I wouldn’t either. Science is one of my favorite classes, and even I hate doing work for that teacher.” Wilhelm shrugged.
Connor grimaced. "Ah hate science, are yeh kiddin' me? This teacher is jus' th' icing on top o' the cake."
“I can see that, Connor.” The corners of Wilhelm’s lips turned upwards slightly. “A bad teacher spoils the whole lesson, but to me science is just fascinating to learn.” His eyes lit up at the thought.
Connor shrugged. "Science is boring. But I respect yer opinion." he replied, looking at Wilhelm. "Agree ta disagree?"
“Mm, sure. Let me know if you need help with anything, won’t you? Since you helped me with my English and all of that.” Wilhelm leaned back in his seat a tad, head tilted. His posture was relaxed and familiar, something that didn’t happen often in the cafeteria.
"Alright." Connor replied. He took a sip of his tea again, looking over at Wilhelm. Why did I have to end up with an attractive roommate??
Wilhelm checked his watch, and he bolted upright. “Ah, fuck. I’m going to go ahead and go back to the dorm in a minute, but I just remembered that I was meaning to check my mail today. I’ll see you in a few, yeah?”
Connor nodded. "Yeah, go ahead. See yeh later." he replied, waving a little bit and giving Wilhelm a quick smile.
Wilhelm nodded, putting away his dishes before walking quickly out of the cafeteria. After collecting his mail- which was quite the ordeal, it had been a little while since he had last picked it up- he sat back in the dorm, fishing through the letters for one in particular.
Connor finished his tea, and people-watched, looking at all the people in the cafeteria.
Wilhelm had found the letter, now trying to open the envelope as cleanly as possible without damaging it. Not that he would use it again, no, he just didn’t like the thought of ruining stationary that could be used to sort letters for the future.
Connor finished his tea and got up, heading to the dorm room. He took a deep breath, sitting down and getting out his science homework.
Wilhelm sat on his bed, a wooden box on his lap and letters stacked meticulously around him. He seemed to be sorting them, scanning through each one to decide where they went.
Connor glanced over at Wilhelm for a moment, then continued to work on his science homework, frowning a little bit.
Wilhelm finally finished his sorting after a few minutes, and was now reading through his new letters. There were a couple he merely scanned and put away. His attention was more focused on one letter in particular, where he, upon finishing it, set it down calmly, having half a mind to get up and throw it into the fireplace in the common room- and it showed on his face.
(I gtg to bed now. Good night!)
Connor glanced up and saw Wilhelm's expression. "Wil? Is something wrong?" he asked softly, biting his lip. "You look upset."
(gn!)
“I am, a tad bit. I feel like I shouldn’t be putting the contents out into the open, but I will be because otherwise I’m burning this and myself in that fireplace. Essentially a past boyfriend of mine has just sent me this.. thoughtful letter explaining why I should take him back. Here’s why this is odd- I broke up with him, and that was, what, a year ago? Two? However long it was, the damned thing’s vulgar and crass enough to make a sailor blush.” Wilhelm snorted, placing the letter neatly back into its envelope and into the box.
