"Oh, you probably didn't have those in the Boiling Isles… with the boiling cloud juice and boiling sea and everything… It's basically a big bowl full of water, and you can swim in it." She paused. "Hey, where's Willow? I haven't seen her all day."
"Shes playing in the woods. Gus went with her." Amity said.
"We should probably find them, we don't want to leave without them… Besides, Hunter's never seen her in a swimsuit and I desperately want to see how that goes."
(insert queer teengirl giggling bc huntlow is a comfort ship)
"Yeah we should." She stands up and offers her hand "Lets go"
She takes Amity's hand and smiles as she stands up. "Absolutely."
They slip on shoes before heading out into the woods, Amity wary of whatever woodland beast that Willow might of upset.
They eventually find Willow and Gus making a fort in the woods, which was somewhat falling apart.
"Guys, were going to a pool!" Amity called, a hint of uncertainty at the pronunciation of pool.
"Ooh, is that a human thing?" Gus asked, obviously very jazzed.
"Yeah, its a bowl of water thing!" Amity yelled back.
Soon they were all back at the house getting ready, and it was… chaotic. Long story short, there were a few pool noodle battles, and someone decided it would be a good brain bubble to inflate the beach balls before they got there…
Like I said, chaos.
After being hit to the head many times, witnessing Gus eat half a pool noodle before Mrs. Noceda stopped him, and debating what to wear for 20 minutes amity was finally dressed. She wore a cute two-piece that covered nearly all of her stomach. She opted to wear shorts over the bottoms because her legs are sensitive(Projecting onto amity lol). It was pink and black with a wonky-donky skull with fangs on it. Willow found a deep green swimsuit that used to be Mrs. Nocedas, it had a 1940s feel about it. They finally loaded into the motorized rollingham. 2 bags of snacks, 1 tube of sunscreen, 3 bags of pool toys, and a lot of towels.
"Okay, a few ground rules." Luz said, getting everyone's attention. "Apparently water is different here… No, it won't melt your skin off, but it's a possibility that you might drown. No roughhousing, and no magic. That means you, Gus. Humans don't really appreciate crocodiles chasing after them, even if they're just illusions. And trust me, wear sunscreen."
Gus booed at the rules. Being the mischievous children that they are, they put Hunter and Willow right next to each other in the very back. Willow was actually paying attention, Hunter was kinda looking out the see-through wall appearing a bit frazzled. Within a few minutes they were sitting in a parking lot. The motorized rollingham nearly vibrating from the excitement inside.
(They should totally just take every possible opportunity to set up Willow and Hunter haha)
Luz opened the motorized rollingham wobbly flip-shutter and stepped out, blinking against the sun. "Alright, let's do this!"
(frfr, also sorry if I'm not writing good today, I had to go to a funeral and it was hard for me.)
(Oh my gosh are you okay?? You can PM me if you ever need to talk)
(I'm good. My uncle died. We werent close but I saw him a lot. The funeral was earlier and it just kinda feels tired today. It will probs just take longer for a response bc my mind idnt in it.)
The rest of the kids unloaded and ran to the black gate enclosing the pool. Camilla scanned her ticket pass thing and opened the gate. It was like opening a portal to a buffet in front of people who hadn't eaten in weeks. Gus ran into the pool imeadeatly and almost died. Willow went to a table in a grassy area. Vee, who carried most of the stuff, followed behind Willow. Amity walked in and stared. It was strange, water that people were willingly getting in. Some(most) times walking along the cliff by the boiling seas people were being threatened. She saw a kid get pushed in against his will and let out a small startled yell. Instinct, she assumed.
"It's ok, the water can't hurt them. Just… Try not to get it in your peepers." Luz winced as she remembered that she hadn't told the others about that, and hurriedly distributed goggles.
"Yeah, I just forgot. Thanks" She smiled and held them in her hand as she sat beside the pool. She stared at the water for a while before reaching out and touching it. "Luz…" She whispered "I don't know how to swim"
"Shoot, I should have thought of that…" She smiled and took Amity's hand. "I can teach you!"
"Thanks, I'll have to do something for you next time" She pressed a quick kiss to luz's hairline. 5 more minutes and Amity was dressed in floaties and was now making her way to the broken escalator.
