Sire just nodded along to her words, struggling to keep his eyes open. Her hands were cold, yet still held that comforting feeling as they held either of his. It was nice, in a way.
Though, he’d never voice that opinon.
From where he was sitting, there was a window directly in front, showing the outer part of campus. The green trees swayed, flowers blooming from them. Winter had slowly drifted into spring, today being considered the first “official” spring day. He gave a small smirk. He liked spring. About the only thing that made sense at the moment for him, with the lack of blood traveling to his head. So he focused on that. It was peaceful to watch each branch sway, with that sort of melodic rhythm. Petals drifted in the wind, sometimes faintly hitting the window. The pinks and reds swirled with the emerald green and blue of the sky, mixed with the cotton clouds. He had always loved the sky.
“You should be proud,” Sire mumbled quietly, after a few moments of silence. With much effort, he sat up higher, so wrapping his chest was possible.
“And, sure,” he continued. “I can wrap it, if you don’t want to.”
Sire kept the casual tone, not implying any sort of connection. He figured it would be for the best. Seeing as how she had been acting with the reveal of his torso and the healing fiasco, he decided to keep the tension at a low.
Nothing against Seo Hyeon, of course. If he had the energy, he would definitely be more flustered. However, his entire body just felt… heavy. Heavy and very hard to move, not to mention sore and painful. Though, it was more numb now, thankfully.
“You should look into Limitless,” he said suddenly, breaking the silence and his thoughts as well at the mention of the special class. Seeing her fight like that made him think she was cut out for it. “If you know what that is. The training class that takes trips? We’re leaving in a couple days. You should join us.”
He kept his eyes on the window, propping himself up on his arms, his hands still sore but healed enough. He tried to move in a way that would make it easy to wrap his torso, though the movement just caused him to wince.
(Sorry these are a bit short )
(They’re definitely not short. Honestly, a single paragraph is even fine. So dont feel like you have to write a bunch.)
“Oh, no its totally fine. You shouldn’t be straining yourself. Ill do it” she says trying her best to be professional. She always felt cool and professional whenever she healed someone.
Absolutely loving being able to be useful for once, helping people. Her mother always said she should become a doctor, but it all was so much work and studying. Seo Hyeon didnt think she could keep up with that mentally nor physically. Unlike most peoples powers, Like Sire’s for example who’s power was really unique and cool. Healers were quite common. The plants not usually coming with it. Hospitals were always filled with people who were the same with the same abilities. She never felt special when using her powers. But at least she could help. (I keep on wanting to call them quirks XD) (have you caught up on BHA?)
Smiling a little bit when he told her she should be proud, her eyes flowed from the window where she had also gotten distracted by to the dim colors of the nurses office around the two. Grabbing the wraps, wadded up like tape, she started on his chest, trying her best not to think about it as anything. Simply professional with no feelings… right? Her heart only pitter pattered harder in her chest as she wrapped his chest. Even though he wasn't ripped, she thought he was quite attractive underneath all of his clothes.
“Oh, i think I’ve heard of that. I don't know if my skills would go along with any going. I’m probably like a few tiers below you guys” she says with a shrug. Of course shes heard of it. “I would love to go though. I just don't think i would fit in quite right” taking a safety pin and pinning the pieces together and safely securing it so it couldn’t open and poke him and it was still tight. “All better” she says stepping back, putting her hands behind her back and shifting her weight from one side to the other with a smile.
“Ill look into it. I would also need to take care of my mom.” She mumbled, kind of talking to herself.
(I’ve had to go back and edit some because I’ve accidentally typed quirks lol. And no, I’m not fully caught up, but I’m in the middle of s4. I haven’t had a bunch of time to watch it but I’ve been listening to all the intros/outros non-stop)
Sire uncomfortably twisted himself as to make it easiest as possible for her to patch him up. After she finished, he took a deep breath, feeling the bandage tight around his ribs. It wasn’t tight to the point of being uncomfortable— it was more like a permanent hug. Which, Sire convinced himself he didn’t like, but it was comforting, to say the least.
With his shirt off, even more scars could be seen. Though, they were a slight bit hard to distinguish, due to his paler skin around his chest and stomach, as well as back and sides. His natural mocha skin varied in color from place to place, almost like a gradient.
“You would fit in,” he confirmed, his eyes wandering from the window to her, watching as she rocked. “That’s the whole camp’s point. It helps you get better at combat.”
Sire paused, nodding his head back to the window and shifting in the cot.
“Not that you need it,” he continued. “You’re powerful. It’s just a matter of the utilization.”
Sire took a hand, brushing the hair from his eyes. It was dirt-covered and a bit matted. Honestly, his whole body was just as ragged. He looked up to the girl’s eyes, his own holding a slight glow, like before. He seemed content. Almost joyful, even.
“You’re smart,” he mumbled, matter-of-factly. He kept his hand off to the side of his head as he spoke, his hair still intertwined with his fingers. “I like that.”
(I feel that XD)
She felt bad, thinking about readjusting it, but once he put his arms down it was too late. It being tight was a good thing. Though she was more worried about his comfort.
Seo Hyeon could most definitely use some training, there was no arguing that. She wasnt even offended in the least bit. It was more obvious than her white hair. Okay, maybe not that obvious actually.
“I’ll try to get in. I would need to work a few things out with my mom. But i would love to” she says cleaning up, washing the blood from her hands, taking all of the supplies and putting them back in there rightful places, her footsteps so light you could barely hear them. She was naturally light on her feet, a habit since she was little she’s held onto for quite a while.
Ready to just say thank you at his small comment, saying she was smart, her face turned red at his last comment. He looked rather bashful as he said it which made him even cuter than usual. What? Not that she thought he was usually cute… not at all. (Oh she be lyin honey)
“O-oh.” Was all she could let escape her pink tinted lips, a small shine of her lip gloss making her lips look like a dolls in this certain lighting.
“Thank you. I’m glad someone thinks that” she let out a small laugh as she pushed back a few strands of hair behind her ear, the diamonds lining it looks like constellations. She never would actually show them off or anything, they were more for her. But it was always nice to show them every now and then.
“Sorry. I’m a little awkward” she says looking away. Every since they’ve met she’s been weirdly bubbly and awkward with everything. Not knowing what to do most of the time. With her facial expressions or body language, but also with what to say. Always concerned “what would he think?” Whenever she thought about saying something slightly risky. The fact that she held his hand. Man she just wanted to die at the moment. “I’m not really used to this whole new friend thing. If that makes sense..”
Sire couldn’t help but let out a small laugh. It was unusual— she seemed so confident in her actions. It was hard to believe she may have been having the same internal conflict as he. There was a kind of comfort in it, knowing they were the like.
His laugh left his face with that same diminutive awkward smile, slightly crooked.
“I’m not, either,” he admitted. “As you may have guessed.”
He shook his head, the smile fading but still a bit visible on his face. He adjusted the bands slightly, taking another deep breath only to feel the wrap stretch tight over his bare skin. The deep breath slowly turned into a yawn, and he closed his eyes for a brief moment.
As he opened them, they glanced back over to CC. His face held a sort of snarky expression. Well… about as snarky as Sire’s face could get. Which… wasn’t really much.
“Will you get rest, now?” he asked, his normally calm voice laced with the slightest tinge of humor. “You need it. You’ve done a lot today. Been through the rough latter of it.”
He fiddled with the sheets at the edge of the cot, leaning his weight from hand to hand. The soreness lingered, but he pushed past it. He was still in pain, but looked about as carefree as he could. All in order to convince Seo Hyeon to go rest herself.
“I’m fine. Really. There are only these beds to lay on anyway. Plenty of students are going to at least come in here and rest too. I wouldn’t want to take their spot” she shrugged, wondering if that made sense to him or not.
Knowing her and the way she talked, probably not.
“I can rest at home…or something” she paused, knowing full well she wasn’t going to be resting at home. Though she didn’t want him to worry.
“I’ll rest later” she lied.
Having homework, explaining to the teachers to do, and taking care of her mom, well she didn’t have time to rest. Plus having an actual job didn’t have any mercy.
(I’m so sorry it’s so short this time)
“I doub’t that,” he retorted, cradling his hands in his lap. He adjusted to where he sat upright with his legs crossed over one another, still facing the window but his eyes gazing up at the girl.
Sire’s yellow irises were dimmer than usual, almost looking like a sickly pale orange.
Suddenly, into Sire’s brain popped the rememberance of the small daisy and clover he had left on the floor of the arena. His expression didn’t chance, though his gaze grew distant.
Why would he care? He didn’t believe in luck. And a flower? In his hair? Stupid. Right? He didn’t care…
Sire shook himself from his thoughts, locking his tired eyes back on the window. It looked beautiful out there, but Sire knew he’d be cooped up in this office for a least another hour. Or until they let him go back to his dorm and sleep. Gosh, sleep sounded wonderful. Either that or coffee— Sire didn’t really care. For all he knew he’d end up doing both anyway.
If anything, he just needed to be healed up by Wednesday night. The Limitless group left early Thursday morning, and he couldn’t be injured for that. With how much he hurt himself now?… He couldn’t even think of a world in which he survived this training camp.
His hands grew slightly tense, showing a bit white around the knuckles. When he noticed he was clenching his fingers, he relaxed, closing his eyes and taking in a deep breath. Too far in his thoughts, he had to be drawn back out once in a while. Mostly on his own account.
(Do you think we should time skip a lil bit or something? Maybe to the limitless thingy. Maybe they’ve become more comfortable around each other then? XD)
(Sorry, i just don't have a bunch to write here and i don't want this to go slowly)
(okay, if you would like I can do it, but I don't mind if you do.)
(It’s really your choice. I guess I could because Sire is the one going lol, and maybe Seo Hyeon just like met him out front if she actually decided to go(?) i dunno it’s your choice)
(yeah, that makes sense. I'm doing something with my family for a while so I won't be able to reply as much today)
(‘s alright, don’t worry. I’ll go get mine up)
It was cold. But, Sire never minded the cold.
Still, he buried his face in the collar of his sweatshirt, breathing out and causing the breath to warm him. It could be seen in the brisk spring morning air, coiling up from students’ mouths as they stood in the courtyard in front of the gates.
Sire had been out of the school only one other time. And it was for the same reason— Limitless. He was terrified. Not of leaving the school. Of this class. Sure, he was fully healed. And sure, he was a powerful kid. Did that matter? No. It didn’t matter how healthy or powerful you are when you enter this camp, because you don’t leave in either of those conditions. It was rough and hard and they worked you to the ground.
Yet he still supported it, for some odd reason. Sire wanted to be strong. This class would help him get there. So that was enough convincing for him. Oddly enough.
Sire gripped the book tighter in his arm, his hands in his pockets. The gauntlets wrapped tight around his arms bunched up the sleeves to his sweater, revealing the metal plates housing small slits and wires. He let out a sigh, the warm air sending a shiver.
His eyes flitted up. There weren’t many students this time around. He didn’t blame them, though. He would leave, too, if he wasn’t so god awfully stubborn.
Aryan was here, thank the lord. He had recovered just fine, “forgiving” Sire completely. In reality, he had just said, “Good fight. I’ll get stronger and beat you some other time” and they had shaken hands. The interaction was good enough for Sire, although a teacher had most likely initiated it. Didn’t matter.
Sire closed his eyes. It was way too early to be outside, again. About 5:30 as he checked his phone. They would be leaving in 10 minutes, yet Seo Hyeon wasn’t here yet. Maybe she forgot? Or just didn’t want to come. Sire wouldn’t blame her, although he was slightly… sad about it. It would have been fun to have someone during the training. Doing it alone was what he always did… it would be a nice change.
Maybe he could talk to the Professor of the trip… would he let Seo Hyeon come along to just… heal people during the trip? She didn’t have to train, she could just help out? Like a T.A.
As he thought, he mumbled to himself slightly, his head resting in a hand that’s elbow was propped on his other arm.
Waking up earlier than usual to her alarm beeping by her nightstand and the cold morning air coming into her room through the window. Her white nightgown tangled in her bed sheets, she sat up and removed the covered before looking at her window. Realizing she's left it open the whole night!
Man, her day was not off to a good start was it?
Getting ready, she already had her suitcase by the door and a few small bags. A sweater and a skirt as usual, though each time a different one. She wore a shorter skirt than usual today, as she had packed all of her other ones in her suitcase without thinking about having to wear something the next day.
Getting in her car, she hauled her suitcase and bags in before hand, she pulled out of the drive way.
Sleepily driving to the meeting place, she had decided to go to limitless. She was scared about it though. She's heard so many horrible things about it, she didn't really want to go. But the fact that Sire wanted her to go made her want to. It would be fun with a friend! right?
Having an Actual friend was nice for a change. Hanging out with Sire and all, he was sweet. Too sweet for his own good.
Her heart would skip a beat every time she saw him with a huge smile on her face as she would stand on her tippy toes and waved at him from across the hall.
It was actually really fun and and she was glad she stuck around him instead of saying away.
Soon her cute little yellow car pulled up to the foggy meeting sigh. With just a sweater, she would have to dig in her suitcase for one of the jackets she packed.
Stepping out of the car she just recently bought about a week ago, having just enough money, she searched for Sire.
Once she spotted the boy, she hurriedly walked over him, trying not to seem too excited. But the glimmer in her eyes and her bright smile when she saw him said It all.
She was to the side of him, so she didn't think he saw her. Tugging lightly at the bottom of his hoodie, she tilted her head to the side as her long hair went with it. Maybe she would cut it once she gets back from this Limitless thing.
"hiYa!" she says to him.
Sire turned, giving the girl one of his small smiles. Ever since he had met her, he’d been getting better at it. Something he didn’t necessarily think he was capable of. But here we are.
“Hey,” he replied, in a sort of tired voice. It was deeper and raspy from the cold morning air and lack of sleep. “I’m glad you decided to come.”
His tired eyes met hers, the yellow irises looking almost joyful, if not holding the slightest bit of nerve. He was a little worried, sure. But everyone was. That was normal for the limitless class.
Sire’s eyes wandered around, breaking their gaze from the girl and instead locking onto the cloudy sky. Wherever they would be going, it was normally much warmer and sunnier. Like a summer camp. Kind of.
Except many students weren’t this worried about summer camp. Or maybe they were. Sire wasn’t one to judge.
He rocked back on his feet, taking his hands from their positions and letting one hang loose at his side while the other brushed the hair from his eyes.
“You… excited?” he asked slightly awkwardly. He had never been the best at conversations. Though he never thought much of it. He was sure Seo Hyeon wouldn’t mind.
(sorry it’s a lil short)
She looked the class over with a tingle of nerves running through her body.
Seeing everyone like this was definitely nerve racking. Nobody looked really happy to get on the road, but she was. Was… now she wasn't sure about it. But she was a woman of her word and she wasn't about to back down. Might cry a few times from people yelling at her, but it was going to be fun! Right?
She snapped herself out of her thoughts before looking beck at Sire.
His low tone and raspy voice was actually really attractive to her, not that she was into him or anything. But she didn't voice it. Not wanting to be weird, creepy or just straight out awkward.
Though unlike Sire who just came across awkward in general. She thought it was absolutely adorable, wanting to squeeze his cheeks and ruffle his hair every time he stuttered or gave her that small smile.
Though she would never.
“Yeah actually!” She says with a bright tone. Her hair looked silverfish grey in the foggy morning, and her eyes looked a lot darker but her smile made up for it all.
“I do have to admit i am pretty nervous though. I don't really know what to expect…” the girl looked around once more at all of the sleepy students. “So um, wanna sit beside me on the ride?” She asked kind of awkwardly herself, but trying to ignore the fact that she wanted to shoot herself in the face and die in a hole.
Yeah she was maybe a bit dramatic
Sire glanced over, taken slightly by surprise. His hands fell, and he put them back in his sweatshirt pocket. The book was still held tight in his arm.
“Sure,” he replied in a sort of calm mumble. “And don’t worry. This is a lot of kids’ first times.”
He gave a nod to a few other members, not pointing out who exactly but gesturing in the general direction. A small group of first-years were huddled by the gate to the entrance of the courtyard, already hasty to go. Either they wanted to get there fast or get it over with fast. Most likely the second one.
“There’s not much to worry about,” he said fluidly, starting to get a hold of his voice, yet it still kept the same tone. “If your powers are strong, and you’re good at what you do, you should have no issue.”
And if your power doesn’t hurt you every time you use it, he thought, internally cursing himself. He realized he did this quite often.
His eyes flitted back to the sky, and he drew out headphones from his pocket. He clicked them into his phone, putting a single bud in one of his ears. He offered the other to CC, holding it out.
“I don’t know if you’ll like my music…,” he began, trailing off. “But you’re welcome to listen with me.”
What was he doing? He didn’t even know. He was slightly… embarrassed about his taste in music, to say the least. Some people believed he would listen to heavy metal, whereas those who really knew him would suspect he listened to modern rock or alt. In reality… he listened more to lo-fi and indie. Maybe Seo Hyeon wouldn’t judge him for that. Or maybe she would. But he didn’t care. Right?
She was surprised when he had handed her one of his ear buds, but she took it. She didn't know what kind of music he listened to but something told her it might be jazz. Seo Hyeon was a horrible guesser though, so she didn't take her own word for it.
Being pleasantly surprised when she heard it, her face lit up. "I like this! I didn't expect it. But it's nice" she smiled, swaying back and forth to the calm music. She didn't listen to indie too much but she did listen to lo-fi all of the time. When she's cleaning, taking care of her mom, doing homework or writing.
(sorry it's short)
(It’s okay, don’t worry :)
Sire’s eyes looked slightly surprised, yet he kept the same expression, his eyes just staring straight forward to see a bus pulling in to the stop. It didn’t look like their normal school bus— almost like a bus that would be used for a band on tour without a big budget.
He motioned for them to walk forward as to preserve the headphones situation. He didn’t reply to her declaration of actually enjoying his tase in music, but he felt much better. He didn’t actually know how much that had mattered.
He took a couple steps forward, trying to walk in-line with CC. It was a sort of awkward way, but he enjoyed sharing this sort of connection.
Thinking to himself, he gave his same little smile, yet he buried his face in the collar of his sweater yet again. Maybe from the cold, but maybe just to hide his face from the expression. His eyes glanced over to Seo Hyeon, but before she could return the look, they flitted away. Before getting on the bus, he took one look around the courtyard, then joined the line to enter the bus.
(bump? Don’t feel pressured to continue or anything, you can tell me if we’re leaving this idea lol. Just wanted to see whatcha wanna do)
(No i really love this roleplay! I’m just having a hard time coming up with a decent length reply. Ill get it up in a second! I’m so sorry to keep you waiting!)
(No no it’s ok! Take all the time you need! I was just wondering)
As they walked towards the bus, listening to the same music she looked up at him only for her fluttering heart to melt. “how is he so adorable?” she thought to herself as she walked.
Once in the bus, she picked a seat in the far back, hoping Sire wouldnt mind.
Since it was so early in the morning not many people were very energetic at the moment, which she was quite great full for actually. Though she figured they would gain more energy as the time on the bus passed.
Turning to him still a bit nervous, she looked up at him “Would you like the window seat?” She asked trying to be as nice as possible. Though she was a bit tired still.
Vehicles always made her nervous, so when she sat down on the leather bus seats she gently tapped her finger on her thigh, trying to make it as subtle as possible so Sire wouldnt notice.
“Sure,” he replied, monotone. He slid in beside the window, carefully, watching as she sat beside him. “Thank you.”
He was right— it was extremely nice to have someone here he didn’t mind. Sure, he knew almost all the kids, but they were all… exactly that. Just people he knew. With Seo Hyeon… he’d consider her a friend. Now.
It had been a packed last couple of days since the brawl. Packed with social interaction, at least. He hadn’t had schoolwork— that was almost alien to him. But Seo Hyeon had kept by his side. He didn’t know whether to curse or thank her for it.
Sire glanced over to her, giving another one of his tired melancholic smiles and nodding.
He found his heart beating just a bit faster, which took even him by surprise. But with the sun shining in from behind him and casting a glow on her, it was almost angelic. It seemed about right, though. Sire would be the absence of light, just outlining him, whereas CC would be bright and happy and full of light regardless. Or, at least, that’s what he thought.
He noticed her tapping a hand.
Nervous, maybe, he thought. But really, who isn’t…?
Sire took a deep breath, not sitting entirely to the side of the window so CC would have to be a slight bit closer than normal in order to fit fully on the seat. Maybe the contact would calm her.
It wasn’t for his own heart. Right? No. It was for her only.
But no amount of convincing could help his real feelings.
