“Yeah it’s stupid but it’s how he does things, a product of his abandonment issues. He does it just to know how easily we’d be able to move on. So far…everyone gets over him rather easily, within the span of around 48 hours. It always really hurts him and I just don’t want us to be the reason he’s hurting. I know it sounds dumb but it’s just the way he works.”
"So it's a test to see if we really care about him. Because if we didn't, we'd move on easily. If we did, we'd be broken up about it. Hmm, I guess that makes sense. Still a dick move though."
“Yeah still a dick move but it’s a valid dick move. I’m not sure if he actually will though, normally he has me to come crying to when he does it.”
"But if does, then he won't. If he does, he'll definitely get the reaction he wants because I will be so broken up."
He nodded. “I hope he doesn’t..” Ethan said, gently running his fingers through Jax’s hair. “That would be a rough few days…”
"Who, for him or us?" She shrugged. "Probably both."
“Mhm probably both.” He smiled a bit. “So should we wake him up now?”
"If you insist. Plus, the sooner I can give him the same rude awakening he gave me, the better."
“Then go ahead and do the honors.” He said, chuckling softly.
"Gladly!" She took advantage of the situation and shoved Jax off of Ethan, letting him land on the floor.
Jax woke up almost instantly. “Ow! What the hell!!” He exclaimed loudly.
"Morning sleeping beauty!" She chirped with an innocent smile.
He scowled at her. “You’re a real bully sometimes.”
“That’s just karma for you Jax.” Ethan shrugged.
"You could've given me a concussion this morning. Payback's a bitch, ain't it?"
“I’m sorry.” He said sincerely, pouting up at her.
"Hmm, alright fine. Apology accepted, I guess."
He smiled, sitting up and hugging her.
She winced slightly. "Ow, ow, too tight, too many bruises."
“Sorry, sorry!” He said, releasing her.
She rubbed her bruised and battered ribcage with a slight smile. "Don't worry, nothing cracked. I'm still alive so it's fine."
“Okay, good.” Jax let out a small sigh of relief.
"I am one hell of a walking hospital bill." She laughed.
“Yeah if you actually went to a hospital.” Ethan said.
"Which is a death wish for me so…no." She shrugged. "I'm alive and mostly not in pain, it's fine."
“At some point in your life I’m taking you to a hospital and you can’t stop me. Same goes for you.” He said, pointing at Jax.
