The more she looked around, the more confused she became. Sure, people were scared but why? If they took a closer look, none of these guys were actually scary or at least not scary looking. She relaxed a little, confidence returning to her walk as she began to realize that this couldn't be so bad. There was nothing here to be afraid of. And with that confidence, she stuck out like a sore thumb in all the scared and anxious people.
It took him a few minutes before he actually noticed the girl. And as soon as he did notice her, he was shocked, one because this girl was noticeably attractive, and two, because she wasn’t afraid. Did any of this shock show? Of course not. Now what was he going to do about this, that was the question.
With her confidence returned, the walk seemed to get shorter and she was up at the school doors in no time. She walked inside and let out a small sigh of relief. She had made it inside. Now she just had to get through the rest of her day.
A few of the guys with him were muttering various things amongst themselves. The muttering grew annoying and he flashed a quick look at the group, silencing them. ’what to do, what to do…..’ he thought to himself. After another minute worth of thinking, he beckoned one of the guys over, this guy was basically Jax’s right hand man. “Did you see that girl, just now, the one acting all high and mighty?” Jax asked. “Make sure everyone knows she’s off limits.” And that was the end of anything eventful that happened before school started. Time for him to go intimidate some teachers, blow off work, and just be a piece of trash.
She walked into her homeroom and gave the room a quick scan. Not terrible but certainly not as high quality as her old school. She just shook her head and took her seat. There was no need to be stuck up, then she would become a target. Just keep your head up and eyes forward and you might survive.
Jax waltzed into the same home room class a solid 10 minutes late as per usual. He was still talking with the same guy from earlier and they both took seats at the back of the room.
Becca couldn't help but glance back at him. She'd seen him before when she was walking in but hadn't taken the time to get a proper look and now that she had, she couldn't stop staring. Not because he was in a gang or anything but because damn he was hot. She shook her head to clear her thoughts and stared forward again, trying to force him out of her head. It was only homeroom, she had to be able to focus.
He had noticed her staring and pretended to ignore it, but as soon as she looked away, he grinned the tiniest bit. They kept talking in the back, most teachers didn’t mess with them anymore.
Soon enough, the bell rang and everyone flooded out of the room. Well, everyone except for Becca. She was looking over the map the principal had mailed to her and comparing it to her new schedule and was still confused. She refused to make herself look stupid by just wandering around the school like an idiot until she found her class and when she was late, she'd pull the new kid card. She'd be fine.
He wanted to hang around, figure out the whole deal with the new girl, but he knew better than to do it here. But still, he and his buddy did linger a bit after the bell before Jax finally got up to leave.
She studied the map for another minute before sighing and sticking it back into her bag. She was about to go try to find her next class when she paused at the doorway. She had absolutely no commitment to this school. It was only the first day and she knew for sure the teacher didn't check attendance so why should she stick around? You know what? Forget it. Today was not her day. She marched out the front doors, fully intending on just going home. After all, who was going to try to stop her?
Jax’s buddy noticed her heading towards the door and nudged Jax to get his attention. Jax, getting the message, quickly went after her, but took a different exit so it wouldn’t look like he was chasing her. He’d probably be out on the front walk by the time she got outside.
She noticed him when she got outside but chose to ignore him. It hadn't even been an hour yet and today was already kicking her ass. But unlike most things she had to deal with, she didn't have to stick around for this. So she just kept walking, mostly focusing on just getting home.
He rolled his eyes. Really the newb was just going to ignore his undeniably attractive self. “Hey!” He called after her, catching up with her. “You heading out already?”
She paused for a second, turning to look at him. "Yeah, I am. Why's it matter to you?" Maybe being sassy with him wasn't the greatest idea but she was already here.
He resisted the urge to say something rude and forced a smile. “I’m bored, you’re bored, I know my way around town, you don’t. Let me help you”
She raised an eyebrow at him. "Is that so? I'm not completely sure I believe you but hey, anything better than being stuck home." She shrugged, pushing her hair out of her face.
“Well then..if you do feel like trusting me, I know a few great spots we can go until school ends.” He offered, sticking his hands in his pockets.
She thought for a minute. Did she really want to go with this guy that she didn't even know? Well, he was kinda cute and she did need an escape from this place. "Alright fine. Where to first?"
He smiled “follow me then” he said and offered a hand for her to take. So far this was going better than he had hoped it would. If he could get her to trust him within a few days, then she wouldn’t believe anything bad she heard about him afterwards.
She hesitated for a second before taking his hand. What was the worst that could happen? Well, the worst that could happen would probably be he would kill her but hey, let's look on the bright side.
((What a mood
His smile widened and he led her out onto the busy sidewalks, not letting go of her hand. They blended in the crowd rather easily, so no one should report them for not being in school. The people who did notice the two kept their distance. So yeah, no risk at getting in trouble.
The sparks that shot up her arm when he tugged her with him were ones she didn't except. She had just met this guy, what was happening? She shook her head, trying to force away her thoughts.
He led them through a twisted route of shops and street corners until he'd eventually come to a stop.
It didn't look like much and that's because honestly, it wasn't much. They'd stopped at a rundown building. He started climbing up the fire escape latter, which had been left down, expecting her to follow.
