Bridge was trembling again, looking up at the four with wide, golden eyes. He didn't really know exactly what was going on…but he wasn't being attacked.
Dave scowled. "Since when were you the head of the agency, Scorpion?"
Bridge was trembling again, looking up at the four with wide, golden eyes. He didn't really know exactly what was going on…but he wasn't being attacked.
Dave scowled. "Since when were you the head of the agency, Scorpion?"
Scipio slammed Dave against the wall again, harder than before. Two other guards quickly grabbed his arms to restrain him, but that just made him angry. He bit one guard's hand to get him to let go and wrested himself free from the other. After this, he stood defensively in front of Bridge, huffing quietly.
Dave cursed something nasty under his breath, backing up with the other two guards, who were muttering amongst themselves and not looking too happy. A radio crackled on Dave's ear, and he looked up at the other two. "We have to go, guys," He muttered, before glancing back at Scipio. "You really are a scorpion. The name fits," He decided, before slamming the door behind him.
"Damn guards… never learn, do they?" Scipio walked over to the metal bench and sat down, wiping some of the guard's blood off his lip.
"Are…are you okay?" Bridge asked, looking up at him as he was now only a few feet away.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Can't say the same for Marcus's hand, though." He examined the smear of Marcus's blood on his finger with an almost bored manner.
"Oh." Bridge nodded. "Thank…thank you again."
"Mhmm… they'll be back later, likely with more backup. They'll probably hurt me if I try to stop them then, but pain doesn't particularly bother me. I can convince my brain that I'm not experiencing it to a certain extent."
"I can go with them next time, then…" He offered quietly, tilting his head.
"No. Don't let them trick you. They're all just liars…." Scipio glared at the cell doors as though waiting for them to return.
"They'll keep doing it, I think." Bridge told him, glancing over at the doors before turning his face back to Scipio. "You're going to have to let me go sometime."
"I'm stubborn. They can't take you if they're dead. Although, I'll probably just end up injuring them and you'll get taken anyways, honestly." (Skip)
When they returned a few hours later, Scipio noticed them watching him warily. He'd expected this of course, and waited for them to enter. Once Dave was close enough, he punched him hard in the face.
Dave stumbled and caught himself, not daring to make another move forward, instead just calling Bridge from where he was. "Bridge. You're going to need to come with us now."
"Fuck off, all of you!" Scipio kicked the guards restraining him in the shins to get free, which worked temporarily. Unfortunately for him, they had even more back up this time. Scipio fought them off the best he could, but he was always stopped from behind. Eventually, they grabbed him, tazed him, and kicked him to to floor. He was nearly unconscious from this, but tried to push himself up. A guard put his foot on Scipio's back until he passed out.
Bridge looked up at the rest of them with wide, fearful golden eyes, eventually standing but refusing the hand they gave him. "What…what do you want?"
"We just have some questions. Scorpion hates us though, so he doesn't trust us at all." Dave scoffed, rubbing the cheek that Scipio had punched.
“That’s not his name…” Bridge whispered quietly, following after them.
They brought Bridge to a room with a table and two chairs. Dave sat on one side of the table and had Bridge on the other. "So. First of all, how did you get here? What did you do?"
He shook his head, just barely responding. “I don’t - I don’t know. I didn’t do anything.”
Dave sighed. "Yeah, I don't care enough to push that further, honestly. Let's move on to your roommate. Are you scared of him?"
Bridge thought for a moment. He had been, at first, but he wasn’t anymore - not enough to move, if that was what Dave had been thinking. He had protected him. “No,” He said eventually, shaking his head.
Dave raised his eyebrows, surprised. "Really? Most new people ask to move immediately. He can be very manipulative and likes to make people afraid. He thinks he's above authority and still threatens guards to this day. We've had a couple quit just because they were afraid he would kill them. If you're wanting to stay with him, the only advice I can give you is to tread carefully. That kid's dangerous."
Bridge pressed his lips together. "I'm not afraid of him. I - I do want to stay with him." He said. In truth, Bridge was a little bit scared - no, intimidated, of Scipio, but he had protected him and he knew he wouldn't hurt him.
"Alright, kid. If you turn up dead it ain't my fault. We'll take you back now. Hopefully Scorpion is still unconscious." Dave stood up and took Bridge by the arm, leading him back to the cell. Scipio was still laying limp on the floor, but seemed to be breathing fine.
The officers released Bridge - not all that gently, either - and shut the door behind them, walking off. As soon as they were gone, Bridge walked to sit next to Scipio's limp form, rubbing his arm where Dave had grabbed it. "Scipio…? Are…you okay?" He asked quietly.
