"Yeah, I'll come to your house. I know you don't like walking alone anyway"
He says ruffling her hair with a playful smile. The only one that he ever directed towards her. He was never playful with anyone else anyway. And goodness she was cute. And that was only one small thing he loved about her.
"Oh and hey! She's not a friend. Potential friend….maybe"
He says poking her forehead.
"But for now, just partners for a project. Unlike you and your boyfriend. Now go get changed, you're a sopping mess"
He says with a little laugh putting his hand in his pocket.
Lance realized he saw this girl this morning, he grinned, "Did you get your notes done? I saw you pleading with your friend this morning."
"Ha, you saw that?" she laughed. "I barely was able to finish them in time. It was so stressful, goodness."
"Hey! He's not my boyfriend." She looked away from Ren and crossed her arms. How dare he say that. She began walking towards her home. Rye was grateful it wasn't too far. "Ty is going to be excited to see you." Ty was 19 and had a job, but he didn't make enough to move out yet. And him and his girlfriend were the cutest, or that's what Rye thought at least. She was hoping they would get married one day. Rye held Levi's hand as they walked to her house, soon enough she wasn't going to be ae to do this, so she wanted to make it last as long as possible. It made Rye a bit sad to think of Levi getting a girlfriend, but it was whatever.
Lance chuckled, “That’s good. You’re Elsie, right? I’m Lance it’s nice to meet you.”
"Yep, that's me!" Elsie replied, leaning against the wall. "Nice to meet you too. I was sure I've seen you before but I couldn't figure out your name. So, where were you in such a rush to get to?"
"Really? How's he doing? I haven't seen him in a while"
He says looking up to the sky as he walked along beside her. His hair falling out of his face as he admired the sky.
He was never an outside person. Too filthy and loud. Too many people and way too many bugs that you cant avoid without a lot of toxins on your skin. With every step he took the bottom of his shoes clacked against the sidewalk.
His fingers fidgeting with something in his pocket. Something he was going to give her. But it wasnt their special individual time together anymore. So he spent all the money for nothing. Or maybe he could get the chance to give it to her.
(Awe, he got her a gift.)
Rye saw her house and walked little faster, dragging Levi with her. "Look there's Ty!" He brother was pretty tall, and had long black hair. No matter how much Rye said he should cut it, he refused. Rye waved and Ty looked up from what he was doing. "Rye, Levi, hello." With a smile on his face he ran over and hugged his little sister. After that he patted Levi on the shoulder knowing he doesn't like to be touched much. "Rye why are you all wet?" He turned back to his sister. "I fell… into a pond." Ty narrowed his eyes but shrugged. "I'm going to change." Rye ran inside before ehe could ask more questions. Ty looked at Levi with a grin on his face. "So, are you going to confess to my sister today?" It was obvious to Ty that he liked her.
"Wha-i mean…..no. It's absolutely unnecessary. It wouldn't benefit her in any way. If anything it would cause her trouble. And anyway she's got this new boyfriend. It should stay the way it is and I wouldn't change it for the world"
He says still fidgetting with the gift, though his voice getting to a sadder tone as he talked. His fingers loosening around the chain in his pocket.
"Anyway. Is she almost done? She takes forever"
He says with a sigh, being a bit more dramatic than usual. Though he was just trying to change the subject. He didn't like even thinking about the fact that he's probably going to lose her.
Ty felt bad for Levi, there was a possibility she would reject him, but on the other hand if he did she would think of him more and maybe straighten out her feelings. Rye was clueless about these things, so Ty was sure she didn't have a boyfriend. "Well, I think you should give it a try, but if your really fine, then I won't bother you about it. Rye came out in high waisted shorts and a plain pink crop top with black tennis. Her hands were behind her back, and she looked to Ty to leave. Ty got the hint and smiled as he left. "I know I invited someone else to join, but it's still our special day, so.." Rye moved her hands in front of her a small blue box was sitting there. It wasn't much but inside was a black and white beaded bracelet, that she made herself. "I hope you like it."
"It doesn't matter what I feel. Her well being is more important than how I feel. I swear if you tell her ill kill you….not literally. Don't take that literally."
He says to her brother before she even came out. Waving at him as he left he turned to Rye. Her outfit was even cute on her. He was tempted to go tell her to change for "modesty". Though it was just flustering him a bit. And the thought of this other guy seeing her like that? It was going to drive him crazy and he wasn't going to like it.
When she held out the bracelet, a chain tugged at his heart. Not highering it, but not lowering it. It wasn't sinking down in his chest like earlier. But it didn't feel as if it were fluttering up and around in his chest every time he saw her. No….not that.
"No, i love it."
He says stuttering around a little bit then pulling out his gift. Though not revealing it. Just clutching it in his big hand. Maybe he could give it to her? What if she takes it wrongly? What if she thinks of it as romantic. Well…that was what he was wanting it to be. But hopefully, she didn't take it like that right? A little sting in his chest made him hope that she would take it like that.
He forgot about what a softy and a hopeless romantic he was.
He just froze there for a second. Not saying anything. Just looking at the bracelet. He loved it so much. It wasn't like any of the expensive things that he would always buy. Or the type of thing he was in to. But the fact that it was from her and that she made it. He absolutely loved it.
"Well uhm…..i have this that i was waiting to give you but…..you don't have to take it or anything…."
He says holding a fragile silver necklace. He actually saw it in a Korean drama that he had just finished watching a week. A cute little star with a moon carved into it.
When he pulled it Rye immediately hugged him. "You didn't have to get me anything, but thank you." Rye was truly happy. She lulled away from the hug and put the. Bracelet on Levi's wrist. "Sorry my gift isn't much." She then turned around and lifted her hair up. "Mind putting it on for me?" Rye was going to wear it everyday for the rest of her life. She may have invited Lance, but Rye cared for Levi more than anyone and no one could ruin that.
"Oh, of course!"
He says trying to find the hook on the necklace as she turned around.
"And it's perfect. I couldn't have asked for anything more"
He says as he hooks the necklace on around her neck, gently letting go of the silver, letting it rest around her neck.
"There. It's perfect"
He says turning around to face her with a little smile.
"I think i might have forgotten to invite that girl. Is your boyfriend still coming?"
"Like I said, he's not my boyfriend." Rye said as, she picked up the necklace and looked at it. The way it shined in the sun was beautiful, it was perfect. Rye still felt bad that she didn't get him anything more. It was just some homemade gift, while his was actually beautiful. "And yes, he's still coming. Let's head to the park." Pulling her hair back, Rye put it up in a bun, mostly because she wanted to show off her necklace and show people she has the bestfriend ever. The close they got to the park the more excited she got. Usually there was a cute icecream stand that was there. It was Rye's favorite icecream.
"Mmmhm. Whatever you say"
He says with a little laugh as they neared the park. He was pretty sure he exchanged phone numbers with the girl so they could discuss the project. He didn't particularly find her very interesting or funny. Or really anything that he likes. Though he doesn't really end up liking anyone until they've formed a strong bond.
"So how long did this take you to make?"
He says removing his hand from his phone in his pocket and looking at the bracelet.
"Not very long." Tye was actually embarrassed to say that. A simple bracelet like that maybe took an hour. "Again, I'm sorry." If only I had a part time job. Looking around she didn't see Lance at all, maybe he was going to be late. Rye shrugged thinking that there was more time for her and Levi to be alone. "I thought black and white fit you best. It's simple but nice." Rye had been playing with her necklace the while way to the park, she decided that was enough, having it break would be the worst. "What kind of icecream do you want?"
"Vanilla with probably a waffle cone, as always."
He says looking over to the ice cream stand. A few kids were around it, but only about five.
"And what about you? Or do you want the usual for yourself as well?"
He runs his hands through his unnecessarily thick hair. His eyes had been giving him problems lately, so he invested in a pair of glasses, that had already come in. Though he looked good in them, he refused to think so. He would never wear them out and about. Especially in front of Rye.
(Hey @Skit_Skat_Skoodle_Doot should Levi and Elsie have exchanged numbers?)
"Yeah, I'll just with mint chocolate chip and a waffle cone." Rye waited for the kids to go first. It's rude for her and Levi to go first when there were young children around. Once the last one was done, the man looked up with a smile. "What can I get you two?" Rye nudged Levi to go first. She always thought it was rude if she went first. "I'll pay. You already spent enough on my present." The man over heard and looked at it. "Ah, young love. You two make a good couple."
"Wha-i…..thank you…."
Levi says to the man, stuttering all over the place as his face quickly turned red. He sure WISHED! But he knew it wouldn't be able to happen. Not in a million years.
"Uh….may i have just a vanilla double scoop in a waffle cone…please?"
He says looking at the menu with all of the flavors and types of cones and toppings on the board. Then back at Rye.
(Sorry it's short)
"Thank you." Rye said with her usual smile. It didn't real phase her anymore, people mistook them for a couple all the time. "I'll have a single scoop, strawberry in a waffle cone please." The man nodded and began scooping them their ice cream. "That will be 5.78 please." Rye took her icecream and started digging through her purse for money. It was just allowance since she didn't have a job. But this summer she wanted to get one when school is out.
(That's okay.)
"Okay well, here's this. Keep the change"
He says with a smile as he quickly hands the man a ten, the man going to make the ice cream. He had more than enough money to spend. Which no, he wasn't rich or a greedy guy. But he already had a more than good-paying job, well more than one. So what was he going to do with all of the money he earned? Spend it on his favorite person in the whole wide world of course.
And To him, that was the most necessary thing to do with it.
"I was going to get it as a Thank you for the necklace." Rye knew she was sort of poor, and Levi spoiled her too much, but honestly she liked it. "You know, you shouldn't spoil me to much, I'll become dependent on you." She nudged him with her elbow gently and smiled as a thank you. "Want to sit near the fountain and wait?" Sitting near the fountain was her favorite, it was just so relaxing. Quite a bit of people were out today and Rye felt bad since Levi didn't like people much.
People did make him extremely anxious about whether he decided to show it or not. But he would always such it up and deal with it around Rye.
"So what if i spoil you too much. Though….okay you have a point. But that doesn't mean I'm going to stop"
Levi says with a little smile as he sat on the bench in front of the fountain.
He absolutely loved spoiling her. Her being happy simply made him really happy. Sparks of joy and love with set his heart aflame every time she simply smiled.
