“Hmmm….that’s a hard one. Nothing too weird, probably just those fried bugs or whatever. How about you? Anything crazy that you’ve eaten?”
“Hmmm….that’s a hard one. Nothing too weird, probably just those fried bugs or whatever. How about you? Anything crazy that you’ve eaten?”
"Does the disgusting slop at the facility count?" He asked, chuckling softly.
“Oh yeah definitely.” He chuckled. “That stuff was barely even food honestly.”
"I think they just grabbed some water, fat and maybe some salt and chucked it all into a pot and put it on the plate."
“That sounds about right.” He said, laughing again. “And then they were like ‘yes this is food I don’t know what you’re talking about.’”
Lachy laughed along with him, "Wouldn't surprise me. Do you think they would go as low as to find old food from the trash and mix it in?"
“Ooh honestly, I feel like they would. They’re cheap like that. And just have no regard for health safety so yeah I think it’s safe to say they might.”
"Mhm, that's true," He sighed, glad to be out of that horrible place, "Okay okay, you ask a question this time."
“Okay. Shit, I’m really bad at this, just give me a second, okay?” He stared up at the ceiling before thinking of one. “What’s the grossest thing you’ve ever had to clean up?”
Lachy bit his lip, "Hm.. pretty tough one." He thought for a moment, "It was probably the garbage at the facility, the shit in there was nasty."
“Oh yeah that was gross. I found someone’s tooth in a piece of chewed gum before. That was…not a fun experience whatsoever.”
Lachy practically gagged before he started laughing, "Wait really? I'd seen some nasty kinda shit in there but a tooth?"
He nodded, laughing with him. “Yeah it was really gross. Did they just like..not notice they’d lost a whole ass tooth or something??”
"Maybe. I wouldn't doubt if the tooth came from a so called 'cook' that worked there." He mused, "I mean have you seen them?" The cooks were the cliche old women who had no sense of hygiene. Over weight and awful.
“Yeah….” He shuddered. He fell silent for maybe a minute before speaking up again. “Honestly, I’m surprised I made it out of there. With how much of a nuisance I was, you figured they would’ve just killed me off or something.”
Lachy bit his lip, "They came to get us all out. To save everyone in the facility. And… Sterling could probably sense there was something different about you, about your powers. Maybe that's why he didn't kill you."
“Hm…maybe.” He stayed quiet for a few seconds before shrugging. “That seems too smart for Sterling though. Plus if he could tell we were different wouldn’t he just want to kill us more then?”
(Heyy so I'm kinda back? Will be a bit spotty for a few more weeks because school but then I should be more active :))
He snorted. It was too smart for the older male. All he could really do was follow orders from the higher ups, "Possibly. But they might have wanted to do more tests on us. On you. To see how your powers reacted differently."
((:D yay! It’s good to have you kinda back lol))
“That’s true….” he looked over at Lachy smiling softly. “Well the good thing is we’re out of there now so we never have to know for sure.”
(It's good to be kinda back!)
Lachy bit his lip and nodded, resting his head against the side of the couch, "Yeah, and I don't think I even want to know. I never want to go back there."
He nodded. “Same here. I’ll do my best to make sure you never have to go back.” He said leaning his head back, starting to hum softly. So when he was calm..Aidan was actually pretty nice.
Lachy couldn't help but smile softly as he watched the other. It was strange to see him so calm, relaxed, compared to the guarded and defensive nature he tended to put up. It was something he couldn't understand about him. He supposed that maybe he'd understand one day.
Aidan continued to hum to himself. He’d always just put up the whole tough guy thing as an act, a way to guarantee that no one would would be able to hurt him.
There down time together didn't last long as Mike came to retrieve them for the meeting. The older man knocked on the door to the cabin, "Boys?"
“We’ll be there in a second.” He called out to Mike before turning back to Lachy. “Well…time to go.” Aidan said softly, standing up, offering Lachy a hand up.
