I nodded, smiling.

“That sounds good,” I murmured. “But didn’t you want the ham pizza?”

“I’m cool with anything,” I answered, squeezing Gray’s hand beneath the table.

Sterling’s POV:

I sighed, actually really full from the pizza. Leaning over, I rested my head on Eden’s shoulder.

“All right… Are we ready to go?” I asked, turning my head to nuzzle my girlfriend’s neck.

Eden’s POV:

I prepared to sneeze, but Sterling’s actions drove it away.

“Y—Yes,” I said, stretching a little. I was proud to say I had finished one slice of pizza, and another half. Wasn’t anything to be proud of, but I couldn’t help myself.

Gray wrapped his arms around Violeta, kissing her on the cheek.

Flushing lightly, I leaned into his touch.

"That was nice, thanks, guys. I can pay?"

Eden’s POV:

I shook my head.

“It’s fine,” I said. “It’s not a problem for me to pay. You don’t have to worry.”

"Why don't we split the bill?" I offered quickly, not wanting her to feel pressured. "We all bought something, it's not fair for just you to pay."

Gray’s POV:

“I agree,” I nodded. “We can split the bill.”

Eden chewed on her bottom lip, contemplating whether to accept or not.

“I can pay, you know,” she said, looking convincing.

“It’s fine,” I said as I took out my wallet. “It’s only fair.”

I pulled my wallet from my back pocket as well just as a waitress came by with the bill. "How much is it?"

(Okay so I just finished re-reading this whole thing and

1. I love it so much
2. I just realized that I kept mixing up the name of Violeta’s roommate, sometimes calling her Lillian, and other times Trinity. Her name is Lillian, lmao sorry for the mix ups
3. I sort of want to do a thing where Violeta’s little sister FaceTimes her in front of Gray/the others bc it would be adorable…. is that okay by you two?)

Sterling’s POV:

I sighed and checked the bill. I would have paid for it all myself, but of corse that wasn’t going to happen. Whatever, it wasn’t a big deal.

“$22.50,” I answered. “A little over five dollars each. And I’m paying for you, Eden, whether or not you want me to.”

Eden’s POV:

I frowned, crossing my arms.

“Sterling, I can pay for myself,” I insisted. “You know very well that I can. You don’t have to do it every time!”

I watched them argue, glancing up at Gray. My fingers twined themselves with his beneath the table, a happy smile finding its way onto my face.

Gray’s POV:

I smiled to myself as Violeta linked over fingers together, and I clasped them together.

Eden’s POV:

I frowned, crossing my arms.

“Sterling, I can pay for myself,” I insisted. “You know very well that I can. You don’t have to do it every time!”

Sterling’s POV:

I smiled and leaned over to kiss her nose before she could move away. She was cute when she was like this, but I wasn’t backing down.

“I know full and well that you can pay for yourself, babe. But I want to pay for you, so I am,” I pressed gently.

Eden's POV:

A pout crossed my lips as he kissed my nose, sighing as I sunk lower on my seat.

"I don't want to leech off of you, Sterling," I protested weakly, knowing I'd already lost. "You never let me pay. For anything."

Sterling’s POV:

I chuckled softly and ruffled her hair. “I know. But you’re not leeching off of me. Plus, you pay for half the rent for the apartment.”
