Shall we time skip? Perhaps they have to dorm together.//
Yeah! I like that idea!))
Awesome! You want me to start?//
Sure!))
"Dorms, here we are. Don't fuck shit up. Y'all are in the older dorms with me, so don't mess this up." River signed, Myra giving out a long sigh. "Fiinnnnnneeeeeee." She drew out, Ryder just rolling his eyes.
“Okay, you two are going to be in the older dorms with me. Just mind your own business and don’t bother anyone and we'll be fine.” Arkyn sighed, herding the boys inside.
By now, the siblings had sat down on some of the beds as Ryder was about to unshrink their bags. All their heads turned when the large wood door opened. "Oh," Ryder growled with a scowl. "It's you." to which Myra responded in a much more enthusiastic "Oh! It's you!"
Arkyn let out a tired sigh, ignoring Ryder completely. She waved at Myra in response to her greeting, allowing the boys free run of the room while she began to unpack.
River waved at Seren. "Could you tell your sister that I am sorry for my brother, he's kinda an asshole till you get to know him." They signed to him, a genuine look in their eyes.
Seren smiled back nodding. ”Of course.” He signed in reply, tugging on Arkyn’s sleeve and whispering the message to her. She nodded, ruffling his hair. She gave River a warm smile over her shoulder a moment later.
River returned the smile, sending over another apologetic glance as Myra ran over to Seren, pulling at his arm. "Let's go talk! Just us without any magical people! Plus, Ryder always says I need more friends!"
“Uh…” Naturally shy Seren was a bit startled as Myra began tugging at his arm. He looked to Arkyn for permission, who chuckled and nodded, allowing her younger brother to be dragged off.
"Awesome!" Myra exclaimed, clapping her hands cheerfully. "First thing first! Why'd you guys lie about not being a violent family or something?"
Seren smiled shyly. “Arkyn likes to make a good impression. We don’t use weapons cause she can shoot fire from her hands.” He explained softly.
Myra nodded. "That sounds about right! We don't really try to make a good impression, we're known in our town and the surrounding towns as hm… What was the word they say, morally black and evil?"
“Oh…” Seren, looked at Myra uncertainty. “You don’t seem evil.”
"We're not! I don't think so at least. The reason we are seen that way is because… Erm, hold up a second." Myra muttered, quickly turning to River. "Can I tell him about Harley?" He signed, River signing back a hesitant yes.
I’m going to bed now, gnight Lex!))
Seren tilted his head curiously to the side. He didn’t interrupt, waiting patiently for the story.
Lol, Ishoulddothesame. But I digress.//
"Well, when I was a few years old… River was around… sixteen or seventeen I think, our parents died. River's twin, Harley went out to get wood for coffins. He didn't come back and River went and searched for him, they found him dead in the middle of the forest. They buried his body but came back to the village with blood on their hands and told everyone he was dead. They were convinced River killed him, I don't know why…"
Seren’s gaze flashed to River, signing ”I’m sorry for your loss.” to the older boy. Arkyn, who was quietly listening, gave him a sympathetic look over her shoulder. Jasper, however, wasn’t listening at all. The boy was busy nosing around the room, bothering the other kids trying to unpack.
"It's fine, it was a while ago. But the people near us haven't trusted me, then my siblings by association." River signed back, a sad smile on their face. They could live with River not being trusted, but for their siblings to be brought into it…
Seren smiled back gently, feeling bad for his new friends. ”We’ll be your friends if you’d like.” He signed back to River.
"Myra and I would love it, Ryder… Not so much." They signed back, just about done with their unacking.
”Is there anything we can do to fix that?” Seren responded, watching Ryder with interest.
"Probably not! Ryder holds grudges longer than it takes a snail to travel the world!" Myra intergected. The person in question, Ryder, was lining up his potions up on a window sill.
