"You remember that I'm an actress, right? Good memory kinda comes with the job," Autumn laughed.
"You remember that I'm an actress, right? Good memory kinda comes with the job," Autumn laughed.
Alex laughed too. “Right, right.”
J gave an exasperated sigh. “A, you’re killing me.”
Autumn rolled her eyes good-humoredly at Alex, smiling.
"So, are we really having steak, then?" Kayla asked, finally speaking up.
(The last song I just listened to is my favorite song from the show it's in. It amuses me. Lol.)
Alex beamed back to Autumn, winking slightly before setting the slabs of beef onto the already hot stove. It sizzled.
“Yes,” J answered Kayla, “we’re having steak and roasted asparagus.”
"Really? I love roasted asparagus! I haven't had that in forever," Kayla said, smiling at J a bit.
Autumn rolled her eyes again at Alex's wink, chuckling at him.
J smiled warmly at her, winking. He bumped Alex out of the way and set the veggies down.
(This is cute. Lol.)
Kayla coughed to hide a giggle, grinning like an idiot. Autumn noticed this and smirked. She stood and crossed over to Alex, tapping his shoulder to get his attention.
Alex looked at her. “What’s up, Autumn?”
"Look at Kayla, and then look at J," Autumn murmured under her breath, glancing in her sister's direction.
Alex glanced at his bandmate, who was smiling, and then to Kayla. He smiled.
“They’ve certainly taking a liking to each other,” He murmured back at Autumn.
(Idek how I never saw this…
Oh, frick… I did, and I thought I responded… Dangit…)
"That they have," Autumn chuckled in agreement.
Kayla was still sitting in her seat, though she would glance up at J every once in a while. Every time their gaze connected, she would blush and look down, then look back up when she though he wasn't looking anymore.
(Oof)
The pair of bandmates finished making the food and dished it up.
“Dinner’s ready!” J called happily, handing a plate to Kayla.
Alex chuckled and shook his head, handing plates to the others.
Kayla thanked J with a bright smile, her cheeks dusted with the red that seemed to have stained them.
Autumn chuckled and thanked Alex when he handed her a plate. "Looks really good. Good job, guys."
J beamed back bowing slightly and turning to go sit.
Alex smartly sat down in his chair, grinning. “Thank you, Autumn. I hope you all enjoy.”
B seemed to have had this type of meal before because she was already digging fiercely into her meal.
Op and El politely said ‘Thank you’ and cut up their steaks.
J shifted, grabbed a steak knife and cut it in half.
Autumn sat back in her seat and set the plate on her lap. She cut a piece of steak off and popped it into her mouth.
"Mm… So good…"
Alex could cook a mean steak. That was for certain. Soon everyone found their plates empty, even of the delicious grilled asparagus J made.
"S'mores, now?" Autumn suggested with a grin.
Alex gave Autumn a shifty grin. “Yep. The stuff’s right over there for ‘em.” He pointed to a little table on the patio.
"Are we going to have a bonfire, or will we roast them over the grill?" Autumn wondered, standing.
Alex hopped up. “Yeah, lemme grab the firetable.” He trotted off into his house, humming.
Autumn nodded and sat back down.
"So, how did you all meet?" she asked no one in particular.
Dead silence.
B burst out laughing, the paper plate cascading to the ground. J gave her an exasperated look.
"What? What's funny?" Autumn asked, amused.
B caught herself rather quickly. “Nothing. Nothing’s funny about how we all met.”
Autumn quirked an eyebrow and smirked. "All right, then…"
