Alex trotted after her. “Iiiii’m coming. I am.”

“Are you even trying this time?” Autumn teased with a grin.

Alex chuckled. “Well when I actually run after you it’s unfair.”

“Because you don’t let me run away!” Autumn laughed.

Alex rolled his eyes. “You were across the room!”

“I didn’t know you were coming at me!” Autumn defended herself.

Alex chuckled. “You were telling me to chase after you!”

“I didn’t think you were going to since you seemed so hesitant to get up,” Autumn explained.

Alex chuckled. “I did and you said it was unfair.”

“Well, now I want you to try!” Autumn laughed.

Alex huffed and picked up pace. “There, I’m trying.”

Autumn grinned and dashed away again. “Are you really?” she teased.

Alex groaned overdramatically. “Auuuuuuutttuuuummmnnnnnn!”

“Aaaaaalllleexxxxx,” Autumn mimicked him with a giggle.

“Auuuuutuummmmmnnnn!” He cried back, turning the corner.

“Baaaaaabbeeeee,” Autumn giggled, slipping out of his sight.

“Auuuuuutuuuuuummmnnnnnnnnnn…” He stomped after her.

Autumn chuckled softly so he wouldn’t hear her from her hiding place in the bedroom closet. She wouldn’t let him find her if she could help it.

Alex stomped around and looked under the bed. “Auuuuututuututurutmmmmnnnn…”

Autumn bit her lip as she grinned, holding back her laughter. Would she have even fit under the bed? Maybe… But maybe not…

Alex frowned and wandered around the room. “Huh. Okay.” He plopped down on the bed, laughing softly.

Was he going to try to find her any longer? Should she make a sound so he would?

Autumn stared at the door as she thought through her options.

Alex stretched out and yawned widely. He’d just take a nap until she decided to jumpscare him from wherever she was.

Autumn finally decided to help him find her, and she let out a soft cough. Would he hear it?

Alex glanced up and around. It must’ve just been his imagination. He did that a lot. He set his head back down.
