"We won't get hurt, babe, come on. And you have to actually try!" Autumn declared.
"We won't get hurt, babe, come on. And you have to actually try!" Autumn declared.
Alex groaned overdramatically and tailed her even slower, moving up against the wall. “I’ll just give the wall a hug.”
Autumn stopped and put her hands on her hips as she glared at him. "Alexander Langton, let your girlfriend have some fun, would you?"
Alex stuck his tongue out as he pressed his face to the wall.
“Autumn…” He stuck his arm out and raised a hand. “I… I don’t have a retort…”
"Exactly. Now chase me, and we can do anything and everything you want when you catch me," Autumn declared.
“Bleeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh,” was his retort as he slid down the wall, slowly walking towards her.
Autumn rolled her eyes and started backing away just as slowly as he was coming towards her. "Come on, Alex!"
Alex plopped to the ground and yawned. “I feel like… not okay.”
Autumn sighed and sat down in front him. "What's wrong?"
Alex leaned his head on her shoulder. “I don’t know,” He admitted, his eyes falling shut.
"Maybe we should take you to the doctor," Autumn suggested as she rubbed his back gently.
Alex shook his head slowly. “No… you wanted to run, right?”
“Yes, but I’d rather make sure you’re okay,” Autumn said softly.
“I’m just—“ He cut off in a yawn— “tired…”
“Well, then, you should sleep. It’ll be fine if you just sleep, okay?” Autumn insisted, moving to stand.
Alex grabbed her hands and used her to stand. “No. I’m okay.”
“Alex, I don’t want you to get sick. Please, just go sleep,” Autumn pleaded, holding his hands in hers even after he was standing.
Alex yawned widely again and shook his head a bit. “No, baby. I’ll be okay.”
“Alex. Please. I don’t want you to get hurt. If you aren’t feeling right, then you should do something about it. I’ll even lay with you,” Autumn promised with a very worried expression, hoping that he would just give in.
Alex shook his head. “I won’t get sick. I won’t get hurt. I’ll be okay.”
“Are you sure?” Autumn asked in one final attempt.
Alex smiled and nodded. “Yes. I'll be okay. Let’s run.”
“Okay… Then you have to actually try to catch me this time!” Autumn exclaimed as she ran to the far side of the room.
Alex bobbed after her, smiling. He was still tired, but her energy encharged him.
Autumn giggled a bit and dashed father away. “Come on, babe!”
