“If you say so…” Autumn snorted and rolled him off. “There!”
“If you say so…” Autumn snorted and rolled him off. “There!”
Alex squeaked and thumped to the ground. He poked his head up drearily.
“I didn’t think you’d do it.”
Autumn gave him a grin and shrugged. “You told me to,” she said, her voice tinted with laughter.
Alex glared at her. “I did not!”
“You said, and I quote, ‘Do it then’,” Autumn chuckled, moving to lay on her stomach as she smiled down at him.
Alex glowered up at her, angrily poking her nose. “I love you!” He exclaimed fiercely.
Autumn burst out laughing. Why was he so angry about this? And how could he say that he loved her in such an angry voice?
“I— love— you— too,” she gasped out between laughing.
Alex’s angry expression remained on his face. “Why are you laughing?!?!”
“Because! You’re ridiculous!” Autumn declared, still laughing.
Alex huffed at her. “You’re ridiculous!”
“But you said it with such a straight face!” Autumn giggled.
Alex glowered at her. “I sure did!”
“Why are you so upset?” Autumn asked, her laughter dying down.
Alex booped her nose angrily again. “I was comfy!”
“You told me to do it!” Autumn argued, her eyebrows furrowing.
“I was kidding!” Alex protested, wiggling back up on the couch.
“Well, then, don’t doubt me next time,” Autumn mumbled.
“I wasn’t doubting you,” Alex growled back.
"Geez, I'm sorry," Autumn muttered, avoiding his eyes as her cheeks turned pink.
Alex huffed and set his head down. “Why would I doubt a woman like you?”
"Because I can lie very convincingly. Hence being an actress," Autumn mumbled as she continued to avoid meeting his gaze, her blush deepening.
Alex rested his head on hers, like a pillow. “Right. I still don’t.”
"…Well, that's good, I guess," Autumn said softly. "So thank you."
Alex nodded slightly. “You’re welcome.”
"I'm sorry for pushing you off the couch," Autumn murmured.
