(um? you alive?)
(Got stuff to do, I'm just here, mate, sorry)
(its ok no problemssss)
(Ok fren I'm back, sorry.)
North frowned, "But the voice in my head…" She could hear it way in the back of her mind, very quiet. But it didn't seem to be talking to her. Suddenly it came back to her, the voice screaming in her head, falling, but not landing. It had told her something about M.
"The voice in your head was nothing, North." M said somewhat harshly. "Sorry," he mumbled softly. "It won't bother you again." He grinned at her. "Now, get some sleep, and I'm gonna be working on something in the basement, just call if you need me."
(yay fren)
"Ok, I will." She said, not planning to go to sleep anytime soon. After M left she quickly got out of bed, "Ohh shhit..too fast, too fast." She exclaimed, leaning back on the bed and closing her eyes. The dizziness went away soon and she stood up again, walking over to the window. Shifting into a bluebird, she flew down to the fountain and started walking towards the city.
The city was empty. The only sign of life in the whole dimension was M and a few animals.
North walked through the empty city. She found the tallest building and made her way up to the roof, sitting on the ledge overlooking the city. It's a long way down.. She whipped her head around, looking for the voice. Oh it's just me, the voice in your head. You know that scar on your wrist. That was me, you were eight. And that long one on your leg, twelve. North winced, remembering that day.
(Nonono hey that voice is M's only. The only reason it momentarily yelled at her is that she was about to die. I'll let it go this one time, but the voice is mine to control. Hope you don't mind that. ^D^)
The male voice laughed gently. He's gonna get rid of you. You'd really think he'd leave you alone if you tried to kill yourself? For all you know, he himself could be trying to kill himself.
(i respect that but its not the same one its just her conscience)
(Oh, ok. So lemmie edit that for M's point of view.)
(ok :)
The male voice laughed gently as M walked down the basement steps. She's gonna ask to get rid of you; to leave. You'd really think she won't leave you alone if you tried to kill yourself? For all you know, she herself could be trying to kill herself again.
Were gonna have a system ok? One cut every twelve hours you're here. It's already been thirteen. Go on, you can do it. A knife formed in North's shaking hand. She slowly lowered it to her arm. You've done this before, you know what it's like. As soon as she finished the knife disintegrated. Blood dripped down her arm as she looked down at the street below her.
The wound quietly healed, as the empty street below whistled with the wind.
"Yes. I'm doing the thing I should have in the first place." M growled as he walked over to a large blueprint. "The weakest spot in the atmosphere. And tomorrow night I'll free North of this dimension, as well as that voice, and destroy this dimension."
With you inside it? Smart, but stupid.
A wave of agony pulsed in M's head and he howled like a dog, giving birth to puppies and having a heart attack.
M fell to his knees and grabbed the sides of his head, tears fluttering down his face as memories emerged. A man who he embraced; a black haired child with sparkling brown eyes; a beautiful woman (not his wife btw don't want you to get mixed up), who he reached out to…
"NO!" He heard himself scream.
North gasped as her cut healed almost immediately. She made the knife reappear in her hand and cut herself over and over again. She growled in frustration. You're right, it was probably M, you should go find him. The voice said loudly. North dived off the building and shifted into the bluebird, flying back to the mansion. She stormed in and found the doors to the basement fairly quickly.
She's coming. M's maniacal voice rang in his ears, as North slammed the door open.
M gasped gently, holding back the agony ringing in his head, and forced himself to rise quickly, and look as if he were doing something important. M turned quickly biting his lip and in hopes that his tears weren't so obvious in the gloom of the basement. The only problem was that he'd left his blueprints out on the table and ripped the sheet covering the ones up on the wall off. Perhaps she won't notice. M muttered to himself.
Oh, she'll notice, dear M.
Shut the fuck up, Zackary.
North rushed down the stairs and spotted M. She ran towards him and threw her arms around his neck. "You..are…the..best thing..that has..ever happened..to me." She sobbed into his shoulder, the knife digging into her hand as she hugged him.
M quickly tossed it away and hugged her back. He didn't say much, and his tears continued slinking down his face.
Both voices were silent.
"M? What did you do to me?" North asked, still hugging him tightly.
"I did something I could only do once, but it was worth it." His deep voice shook and died, and he hugged her tighter, leaning down so he could do so.
Norths grip slackened around his neck. "You..wasted it..whatever it was..you wasted it." She said, the knife repeatedly pushing itself out of her skin every time she pushed it in.
M pulled away from her and snatched the knife away. "It'll protect you, even when you're out of this dimension. That's all that matters." He put the knife in his pocket.
"Out of this dimension?" North slipped her hands behind her back, another knife forming, pushing it into her hand, over and over again, faster and faster. The voice in her head screaming at her. I told you it was him. He hates you. He wants you gone.
He snatched the knife. "I don't hate you. You're just in danger here. With me."
