Tyler sighed, sitting back down on the floor. "Look. I'm not very popular in the kingdom. At least, not friendship wise. I was never popular in school, at least when my social status was taken out of the equation."
Tyler sighed, sitting back down on the floor. "Look. I'm not very popular in the kingdom. At least, not friendship wise. I was never popular in school, at least when my social status was taken out of the equation."
Caspian nodded. "Okay…so you came here to find an outcast?" He raised an eyebrow slightly.
"No…I think I came here to find a friend. I can't keep swimming away to my hide-hole and ignoring all of my problems. Maybe all I've been searching for is someone like me."
Caspian nodded, humming softly. "Maybe you did." he said, shrugging.
"And you seem like a really cool person, you know? You haven't done anything to hurt me, so why should I be scared of you?"
Caspian let out a soft sigh. "Because…" He shook his head.
"Because why? You have done nothing to convince me that I should be scared of you."
"Not yet, but eventually." He replied softly. His tail drifted slightly, brushing against the floor.
"What if I don't care? What if I know what you're like but don't care? It's been like that all day."
Caspian shook his head. "You'll care. When you find out enough. When something happens that you don't like. When…" He shrugged.
"When what? What are you gonna say?" He waited for an answer, one that seemingly wasn't going to be given.
Caspian remained silent, save for casting a small spell.
"Are you gonna answer me?" Tyler asked, 'standing' up. "Come one dude, I can't hurt you."
"No, I'm not going to answer you." Caspian replied softly.
"Are you scared of me or something? Me, a simple man, facing off against a so-called murderer? I can't hurt you, man."
Caspian sighed. "I'm not scared of you, Tyler." He replied. "But there is no need for me to answer the question."
"Why not? That just proves you're scared. Not of me, but of letting people in. I'm simply trying to get to know you: I don't want to to anything else!"
Caspian sighed. "No, Tyler. It doesn't prove shit." He replied, hands clenching. "You don't know anything about me. So don't act like you know what I'm scared of."
"I just want a real friend!" Tyler yelled. "You're the only person who has decided to even tolerate me without caring about my status!"
Caspian looked down. "I would be a terrible friend. I have far too much emotional and psychological baggage to deal with." He said softly.
"That's the person I need. You say that I don't know you, but you don't know me either."
Caspian shook his head again. "I…" He sighed softly.
"You what?" Tyler waited for an answer. "You are scared, Caspian. I've only known you for an hour, but I can already piece that together."
Caspian's tail flicked angrily, but he gave no other response. He set the mixture aside, putting a lid on it.
"You don't know what you're scared of, do you?" Tyler asked softly. "Or you do, but you don't want to think about it."
