“Well then I’ll do my best, dearest.” Dorian bowed before heading into the kitchen.
“Well then I’ll do my best, dearest.” Dorian bowed before heading into the kitchen.
She just shook her head with a smile. "I love you!" She called to the kitchen.
“I love you more!” He replied, starting to make the tea the same way he’d seen Fiona do it earlier.
"I love you most!" She couldn't help but love this, the comfortable feeling of just being young and in love.
“No you don’t!” Dorian chuckled, humming to himself as he made the tea. Surprisingly, he didn’t mess it up as much as he thought he would. And soon enough, he was headed back into the living room and handing Fiona a warm cup of lavender tea.
"Yes I do." She giggled as she took the cup. "Thank you, my love."
Dorian sat down next to her, wrapping an arm around Fiona and pulled her close, "Anything for you."
She giggled softly, kissing his cheek. "I love you, my fiance."
"I love you way more, sweetheart." He smiled down at, loving and content.
"Now that's simply not true." The spark of passion flickered in her eyes, ready for this battle.
He raised an eyebrow, "Is it not? And on what grounds do you have to challenge that?"
"The grounds that I, in fact, have solid evidence that I love you more."
"And what exactly, is the evidence that you have?"
"The fact that I was the one to even bring up the idea of marriage?"
"Who's to say I wasn't already planning on asking for your hand? Just, when I had things planned out and I had a ring?"
"Because who would? I took a chance, I never thought you'd say yes!"
"I would. If you'd been a little more patient you'd have a ring by now."
"Well, sorry then, it was an emotional moment…" She shifted like she was suddenly uncomfortable in her skin, frowning to himself.
"Hey, it's okay, Fiona," Dorian kissed her cheek, hugging her close, "You have no need to be sorry."
"I was so desperate for an out that I didn't consider anything else. That's rather selfish of me…" She mumbled quietly.
He cupped her face, "I know, love. But you're not selfish, not in anyway. I love you, and I wouldn't have it any other way and I'm so glad I'm marrying you."
She finally met his gaze. "Promise you're not lying to me?"
"I promise," He held out his pinky finger, "I would never lie to you."
She rolled her eyes with a soft smile but curled her pinky around his. "Then you better keep that promise because I'll certainly hold you accountable."
"Don't worry, I don't break my promises. Never have and I never will."
