(shump….)
"That just translates into 'freak' for me, sorry." Jessop rolled his eyes, sighing, turning to look at Soren. "What do you see in this guy?"
He didn't even give Soren a chance to answer before a whip formed out of the light around his arm. He cracked it at his side and emotionlessly glared at Arthur. "You sure you want the scars?"
Arthur's power surged, wings appearing. "I've already got more scars than you could ever know pal." he said quietly, his attitude changing to that of a skilled warrior, who knew exactly what he was doing.
Bones cracked, and skin and material tore, as a pair of large, pearly silver, feather wings slid out of Jessop's back and opened as if ready to take flight. The popper of the whip made contact with the grass as he cracked it again, leaving nothing but a dark singed spot. "Why are you willing to fight me?"
"Self pride probably, also a slight need to see if I've lost my touch against a light elemental." he said calmly, wings flaring.
"You really are a weirdo." Jessop chuckled, raising his eyebrow. "A wolf-thing against an angel, could be fun."
"You guys, I don't advise doing this.." Soren rose to his feet, groaning in annoyance. "What am I supposed to do if one of you kills the other? Or if either of you lose control? Did you ever think about that, if one of you loses control, we all get stripped."
"I am not a Wolf thing" growled Arthur, "I am a halfblood Solaris." His eyes were cold as he said it, though he visibly paled when he heard Soren. "For one, I don't kill." he said flatly, "Two. I have every reason not to lose control. You know this Soren." His auras reined in considerably as he said it.
"You might not kill, but I do." Jessop muttered under his breath. He lashed out at Soren, the whip wrapped around his wrist. Jess pulled Soren to him, holding the boy in front of him, the whip almost pressing into his neck. Jess's wild eyes focused on Arthur, but his mind was on Soren.
I am doing what I need to do. I am doing this to keep you safe Soren, and I'm sorry that I have hurt you, but I love you, and I can't let this freak take you away from me.
Arthur froze, "Have you no honor?!" He demanded. "This is between you and me! Not Soren!" His eyes were on Jessop as his blade disappeared. "What do you want?!"
"Honor no longer has any meaning for me. I do what I need to do, and if that means hurting someone then so be it." Both of Jessop's eyes entirely turned gold as he planted a hard kiss on Soren's neck and let go of him. He inwardly winced as he saw the burns his whip has imprinted onto Soren's wrist, but that didn't stop him from approaching Arthur. The whip dissipated as Jess grabbed Arthur's collar and raised him from the ground. "I want you to stay away from Ren."
Arthur growled inwardly. He hated it when people used others to manipulate an opponent. Summoning his magic he warped halfway across the clearing, blade reforming as he took a defensive position. I'll take care of Jessop first… "Me staying away depends on what Soren wants." He said firmly.
"I want you two to not be so childish." Soren exhaled, a bored expression on his face. "Arthur, I didn't think you would be one to fall for games. And Jess, you should be ashamed of yourself for how you are behaving." he glanced down at his own wrist. "If this is what you do to those that you love, Jess, then do you really deserve it?"
He hadn't realised that a pair of horns now sat on top of his head.
"Arthur, you don't need to fight him. He's being a coward."
(I'll be back asap, I have to pick my siblings up from school)
Arthur pulled back again, his eyes were still locked on Jessop, but his focus was on Soren. "Believe me Soren I'd much rather back off, but I'm afraid he'll hurt you if I do." He said, "Or attack me while my back is turned. Something a lot of cowards do. And the last thing I need is to lose control of the most unpredictable aura of them all."
(I'll be back asap, I have to pick my siblings up from school)
(Cool, FYI you've already made my morning.)
(Aww, you're welcome. My replies are going to be staggered for the next 5 hours or so, just to let you know)
"Oh get real." Jessop snorted, his face lighting up with a smile. "You're nothing special, don't even act like you are."
"Jess, just shut up." Soren pleaded quietly, his eyes saddening as he glanced between the two. "Both of you think about it.. Am I worth the fight? Am I worth risking everything for?"
(Thanks for the heads up!)
"Yes." Replied Arthur almost instantly. "And you don't understand what I'm putting on the line here Jessop." He stared the other down calmly. "I am a chaos elemental. I have the element that is the hardest to control. And thanks to what I am by blood, losing control, and getting stripped? That's the equivalent of an execution for me. If they strip my magic, they strip me of my wolf half. If they strip me of my wolf half then I die."
"One less person to worry about." Jessop's face turned to stone, all emotions hidden away beneath the surface. One less person on the earth, one less person who could take Soren from him. "Everyone dies eventually, yours would just be sooner than others."
"Yeah… Can I please stop having all the horrible luck now?" said Arthur, looking up at the stars for a second. he turned back to Jessop, "If you wanna try and kill me you're welcome to. But I promise you I won't hold back if it comes to an all out fight."
(poke?)
"I don't think it would do you any good fighting back, especially when your little demon thing is asleep. But very well."
"No!" Soren yelled. A flicker of light raised red flags in his mind, and caused his blood to boil.
Jessop manifested the whip, heat radiated from his entire body, and he lashed out in Arthur's direction. The angel was faster than anyone, and could knock even the most experienced off guard, but before the whip would have made contact with Arthur's face, Soren was there to take the hit. Only, he looked a little different; his horns, his tail, his wings. When he opened his eyes to glare at Jessop, both of them were completely black, and his shadow still sat by his feet.
"Don't you dare hurt him!" He hissed, keeping Arthur behind his back.
Arthur backed away from both Soren and Jessop. "Soren?" His tone was nervous, worried for Soren. "FYI I don't need Discordion to fight." he said, turning Jessop, "Secondly, he's a Spirit, Third. How the heck did you find out about him?!" He wasn't sure who he was talking to anymore, as he stepped up level with Soren, moving around the other's protective wings. Keeping one eye on Soren, and his focus on Jessop, he set up a shield for the next attack. "And Soren? You don't have to worry about me getting hurt. I've already lived through way worse than what your friend can do." He told the other gently.
"I don't care," he hissed, keeping his eyes on Jessop. "He doesn't lay a hand on you."
Soren started to approach the angel, unaware that Jessop was preparing to attack Arthur again. He saw the whip move a second too late, and it wrapped around Arthur's neck. Soren stood there in horror while Jess's face lit up in glee.
