Ava tapped her leg to the sound of the music. She looked out the window at herself in the side mirror.
The drive to Veronica's wasn't long. Soon they were pulling into what was essentially a mansion, Veronica parking on the gravel near the door.
Ava looked up at the house. She was used to big houses but nothing this nice. She got out of the car. great another rich kid. At least she seems to actually do her work.
Veronica climbed out shortly after, looking the vehicle. She indicated for Ava to follow as he walked up the marble steps to the double doors.
Ava followed her up. She looked around as she walked but then kept her head down only up the stairs.
Veronica led her into the house, not bothering to show her the downstairs as it would take too long. Instead, she grabbed Ava’s hand and led her up the stairs to her room.
Ava blinked away a blush when Veronica grabbed her hand. She tried not to think about it. She followed looking around as they walked.
The house itself was very magnificent. All marble with expensive looking items, paintings and things all about. Large windows flooding the rooms and corridors with light. Veronica pushed open the door to her room. Unsurprisingly, it was huge, though filled with books and art work and random nick knacks, “Here we are. I don’t think anyone is home so we can make as much noise as we want.”
“Ok that’s good,” she said looking around. Her eyes landed and settled on Veronica after a minute. She took her back pack off. “Soo where should we work?”
Veronica shrugged, dumping her bag by the end of the bed, “On the floor is fine I guess. Gives us more space to work.”
Cat nodded. “Ok. Do you have a poster board by the way?” She asked putting her own bag down.
“Yeah I picked one up after school yesterday.” She replied, heading over to where all her art supplies and easel was. Hs pulled out a light purple piece of card and brought it over.
“Nice. We can work with this. So I did some research. What kind of layout should we do?” She asked sitting down on the floor.
Veronica shrugged, joining her on the floor, we could do the individual analysis of the one poem on one side, do the same on the other and then the comparison in the middle?" She suggested.
“That would work,” she said looking down at the board. She then looked back at Veronica. She wasn’t sure what to say but she felt inclined to get to know her a bit.
Veronica was looking down at her laptop and didn't notice Ava looking at her. She was to focused on the writing she was doing.
Ava pulled out her own laptop. She kept looking over at Veronica. She typed up something.
Eventually, Veronica noticed her looking, "So, you curious about me, then?"
"What do you mean?" She asked looking away from her. She kept her eyes on the laptop.
“I can see you looking at me,” She replied, “I’m not blind.”
Ava shrugged. “Doesn’t mean I’m curious,” she said shifting in her seat.
"Hmm okay then," She looked to her own computer, "Well feel free to ask any questions I guess."
Ava nodded. “Yeah well do you want to type up a draft of what we’re going to write or just write it?” She asked changing the subjects.
"I don't mind. If we type up a draft then we can swap and edit each others and go back to see what we need to improve on." She shrugged.
