"Please," She replied, laughing softly and turning slightly so he could reach the lighter better, "I'm used to matches." As much as she was embarrassed that she didn't know how to work the lighter, she was also happy to learn something new, no matter how easy Frankie would probably make it look. Selina glanced over at him as she watched what he did, careful to hold onto the lighter but still give him room to press whatever he needed to.

Frankie laughed lightly and gently placed his hand on top of hers. ”It’s ok. These can be a little tricky the first time.” he said, trying to ignore the red growing in his face. ”You really just have to push the button here, on the top, first… and kind of hard then you pull the trigger right here and it should cause a flame.” he explained as he went through the motions.

@gracehustle

Selina nodded, watching what he did carefully and doing as he said. Like promised, a flame appeared and a bright smile pulled onto her face. "That was easier than I thought," She said happily, feeling her face once again flush from just how close the two of them were at the moment. Not just was Frankie right next to her, but he had helped her get the lighter to start and his hands were still ontop of hers.

Frankie smiled brightly at her as they held the lighter. ”I’m glad I was able to help. You're a fast learner.” he complimented, rubbing his thumb against her hand subconsciously… though he blushed soon after as he realized that he was still holding her hand. ”You ready to light the block?” he managed to ask.

@gracehustle

"Thank you, and yes I am," She replied gently, his thumb brushing against her hand giving her faint butterflies that she tried to hide. Selina wasn't going to turn down the contact, but it was going to be difficult to hide her blush the longer he was next to her. Gently and fairly slowly, she moved the lighter towards the fire, keeping the flame on even though she knew that easily she could get it back lit.

As she moved the lighter, he slowly loosened his grip from her hand so he wouldn't be in the way and let his hand slide up her arm as he watched. Technically, he wasn't really moving but the gesture was still there. He smiled softly still blushing a little and started to pull away so he could make their dinner-breakfast. She would be able to handle this… It wasn't hard to start a fire this way. Besides he was still watching.

@gracehustle

(Crap I thought I replied I'm sorry :( )

It was a weird but nice feeling as his hand ran up her arm, enough to make her butterflies spark up even more. Even as he pulled away once she got it going, she swore she could still feel where his hands had been. "Is that all I do?" She asked, watching the fire block with curiosity and setting the lighter next to herself incase for some reason the fire went out. If it did, she was prepared to use her new skills and light it again.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

(It's ok.)

Frankie nodded as the fire block immediately caught. ”Yeah, that's it. We might have to move the wood a little but yeah, it's that easy.” he said was a smile, grabbing a mixing bowl and a bottle of fresh water. ”Now, have you ever had pancakes before?”

@gracehustle

"No, I've heard about them many times before though. Are they good?" She smiled, looking over at him before going back and pushing some of the logs towards the fire block. Selina didn't even seem to be bothered by how close her hand got to the flames, but she was careful not to actually touch the flame, just move the logs and sticks closer so they could catch.

”They’re very good. I can't think of a time when I had one that wasn't.” Frankie smiled as he poured the ingredients together. Though he froze for a moment, in awe, as he watched Selina move the firewood with her bare hands so close to the blaze. He must have stared for a good minute before turning back to cooking. ”I wish that I had some syrup or something to put on top, but most of that stuff needs to stay cold.” he cleared his throat, impressed by her fearlessness.

@gracehustle

"If you were here earlier in the year, we usually make our own syrup for the pack from the trees around here." Selina said gently, a small smile on her face, "I'm not sure we have any left, but I'm sure that pancakes will taste amazing anyway." She sat back from the fire once she had finished arranging the wood, leaning back on her hands and watching him with curiousity.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

”You make your own?” he asked, eyes wide in amazement. ”Wish I had been here for that. That would have been so incredible to see.” Frankie said with a smile as he finished mixing, making sure there weren't any lumps. He carefully picked up a pan and a little butter. ”I hope you like them. They're normally a breakfast food but… When you're camping, some of those rules go out the window.” he chuckled a little.

@gracehustle

She nodded, laughing lightly and shrugging, "We just tap the trees and then boil it down, and sometimes we add flowers and things to give it flavor. It's a lot of work but fun." Selina tried not to miss a single step as she watched him mix everything together and get it ready for mixing, "I think they'll most likely taste amazing, I'll be very surprised if they don't. Even if they're a breakfast food."

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

”Sometimes the best things in life take the most work.” he smiled softly at her before turning back to cooking. ”I still wish I could have seen it… but I doubt your Alpha would have let me be anywhere close.” he shrugged slightly as he poured a little of the batter into the pan with a satisfying sizzle. Though his smile grew at her last comment, even though he couldn't think of a reply.

@gracehustle

"I would've snuck some out to you, that way even if you couldn't see it, you could have some syrup." She smiled, eyes still focused on the circles of batter, clearly interested by the bubbles that formed slowly in the top of the batter. "Are pancakes easy to make?" She asked, pointing to the pan, "Do they take any more work than this?"

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

He chuckled a little at her offer but smiled. ”Thanks, Selina.” Frankie shrugged a little at her question. ”They’re… not very hard to make. Mixing them is the easiest part but they're still easy to burn if you're not careful. This is the hardest part.” he smirked before flicking his wrist upward and catching the pancake in the pan, batter side down. ”Took me years of practice and a lot of dropped pancakes before I finally could pull that off… and a couple ended up on the ceiling too.” he added with a small laugh.

@gracehustle

Her eyes widened as she watched him flip the pancake and she was clearly amazed. "I can see why that took so much practice, that was amazing!" She said happily, laughing lightly and looking at the now flipped pancake in the pan, "Who taught you how to do that?" It was more than just interesting, and instantly she wanted to learn how to do that, even if she wasn't going to try with these pancakes. They couldn't waste these.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Frankie chuckled a little, glad that he was able to impress her. ”Well… I always wanted to be able to flip stuff like that. My dad supervised a lot and gave me a few tips.” he admitted. ”I saw this one guy do it at a restaurant when I was a kid. Except he just used a big spatula and he got a lot more air. But I'm happy with what I'm able to do.” he smiled at her.

@gracehustle

"That right there is more than I would ever be able to do with flipping food in a pan." She smiled, nodding brightly, "Your father sounds like a very nice person, like you and your sister." Selina turned back to watching the pancake cook, though now that there weren't bubbles to watch it wasn't nearly as interesting. "Can you flip anything else? Or just pancakes?"

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Frankie chuckled, his cheeks turning a soft pink at the compliment. ”I’ve never really tried flipping anything else… well except for some scrambled eggs, but the principle should be the same.” he shrugged a little. ”And let me tell you, I got a lot of pancake batter in my hair before I finally got the technique right.” he smiled, laughing again as he grabbed a plate and slid the pancake out of the pan for her. ”Yeah. He's a pretty great guy. Probably the best dad I could ask for.” he nodded softly.

@gracehustle

Selina's smile grew and she laughed gently, picturing Frankie attempting to flip a pancake but instead getting it stuck in his hair. "I"m excited to try this pancake, do I eat it like whole like this?" She asked, taking the plate once it was offered to her and touching the still steaming pancake. All she wanted to do was bite into it, but from the heat coming off of it, she decided waiting was a much better option.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Frankie blushed a little, since he knew what she was laughing at, as he started the next pancake. ”Umm, usually they’re eaten using forks and knives. But, if you wait a minute for it to cool down, you can pick it up and just bite into it if you want.” he told her with a small shrug. ”I’ve done that with frozen waffles when I was in a hurry for school.”

@gracehustle

(Pardon the late response, my life is insane atm)
"That makes sense," She replied, smiling softly at the pancake and waiting patiently for it to cool down. With the soft breeze that was blowing through the trees, and her tolerance for heat, she picked it up in a matter of minutes, carefully and curiously taking a small bite off of it. Frankie had been right with them tasting good and her smile grew again as she hummed in approval. "Pancakes are amazing, officially my favorite breakfast food."

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

(It’s ok.)

He watched her for a moment as she took a bite, his smile growing at her reaction. ”I had a feeling you would like them. I actually can't think of anyone I know who doesn't like pancakes.” he told her before turning back to the pancake in the pan, flipping it a few moments later. ”Can I ask you something? Are all werewolves resilient to strong heat?” he asked in reference to her handling the firewood earlier and how soon she picked up the still warm food.

@gracehustle

Selina listened carefully as he asked his question, happily chowing down on the pancake in hand. She waited until her mouth was empty though before answering, "Most of us are yes. We're a little more hardy than humans in relation to strong heat and cold, but it's always one more than the other. Heat barely phases me. But cold? I'm only about as resistant as you or someone else, maybe less." She smiled gently at Frankie after she finished, tipping her head to the side in curiosity, "I hope that answered your question."
