Now it was Selina's turn for her eyes to widen at him squeezing her hand and she smiled softly, feeling her blush as she returned the gesture. She nodded gently in return, butterflies making an appearance in her stomach just from the gesture. Yes, she knew they had held hands before but this felt different. Holding his hand now felt almost like confirmation that he maybe liked her back. She wasn't going to test that theory out quite yet though. At least not at the moment.
Frankie smiled back, his heart beating a mile a minute. Maybe he was in love with her… would it be so bad? To be in love with a werewolf? They had so many of the same interests. They both loved the wilderness and nature and knew better than most how to survive away from the cities. Honestly, the thought of becoming a werewolf himself had already crossed his mind a couple of times since he met her. Though the hardest parts would be convincing her pack… and saying goodbye to his dad and younger sister.
Selina didn't know if the feelings she felt for Frankie was love, or if it was just a crush, but whatever it was, she loved it. She felt both safe and excited any time she was around him, and when he squeezed her hand, she got butterflies. Until she was sure confessing her feelings wouldn't hurt their friendship though, she wasn't going to bring it up. Instead, she just squeezed his hand and tugged him along the trail, "C'mon, it's only a few minutes further walk."
Frankie smiled excitedly at her comment, his mind switching back to showing off his howl… As dorky as the thought felt, he was looking forward to it. It may not be as great as a real wolf's but he didn't really mind so much. Plus, the thought of hearing hers was also really exciting. He squeezed her hand in reply and quickened his pace. ”Let’s go.” he declared.
"I didn't know how you felt about being up somewhere high to howl, so I figured this was the best spot," Selina said as she pulled him along gently, a tiny smile on her face, "I really hope you like it." As soon as they came to the spot she was thinking of, she stopped, pulling him to a stop as well and glancing at him with a nervous smile. It was a gorgeous location, a larger outcropping overlooking a smaller valley below them, trees surrounding them on every side beside the one facing the valley, and hundreds of more trees in the valley. Plus, in the moonlight, the stars were extremely visible.
Frankie chuckled a little as they slowed down. ”After that night on the cliff, you should know that I don't mind heights. Honestly, I was tempted to howl once or twice back then.” he admitted, matching her smile. ”I just didn't want you to feel like I was making fun of you.” Looking up at where she had brought him, his eyes widened in awe as he took in the breathtaking scenery. ”Like, is hardly the word. This is incredible! You really know some of the most beautiful places.”
Selina blushed lightly and shrugged, squeezing his hand, "I was going to bring you to the cliff if it wasn't so close to pack land, but I figured you'd want to see more sights. That's the one thing I can help with around here. I know the best scenery." She pointed to a grassy patch near the edge of the outcropping, a safe distance from the edge but still close enough that they could see the sights, "Want to sit there?"
Frankie squeezed her hand in reply and nodded at her reasoning. ”Makes sense to me. Besides, you are right about me wanting to see more of the park.” he told her since he honestly wanted to see the whole park if it was possible. If it wasn't then he would just have to see as much as he could. He nodded again and walked with her over to the patch of grass she pointed out. ”You’re a great tour guide.” he chuckled as he sat down.
(I'm really really really really sorry I thought I responded to this already >_<)
"Living here helps with finding the most beautiful places in the park," She said with another shrug of her shoulders, her cheeks flushing a little more at the compliment. Selina followed him to the grass patch, sitting down as she looked up at the sky. It was a clear night and the number of stars in the sky was high. Paired with the small part of the moon that was visible, it was beautiful. "Well, want to start right away, or do you want to practice?" She asked, looking over at him with a smile.
(It's ok. I've actually done that before too… On a different RP but it still happened.)
Frankie grinned eagerly at the question, half tempted to just start howling right now. But at the same time, he was a little nervous. What if he wasn't as good as he thought he was? Up until now, his audience had only been made up of humans. Maybe he didn't really sound as wolf-like as he’d been told… He tried to shake away his worry and kept smiling. ”Ladies first.” he said instead.
Her smile grew and she nodded, clearing her throat and standing. Yes, she could howl sitting, but it felt more natural to stand while doing it, especially when not in her wolf form. She didn't hold back, howling loudly out into the sky without hesitation. Pausing when she finished, she looked at Frankie, smiling again, "How was that? Not as good as I can do in my other form, but not half bad in my opinion."
He sat back and watched as she howled to the stars. Frankie couldn't help but smile softly, finding the sound to be just as beautiful as… He blushed as the thought came to mind even though it was true: she was beautiful. He looked up at her and nodded at her question. ”Not bad at all. Incredible really.” he told her honestly. ”I would love to hear you howl in your wolf form.”
Selina sat back down next to him, nodding as a faint blush covered her cheeks, "I'll howl as a wolf after I hear your howl. I'm curious as to how excellent you are." She propped herself back on her elbows, looking or at him with a growing smile, "And it'll be easier to give you tips as a human." Already she was sure he was excellent, but she wanted an excuse to stay as a human a little longer.
”Fair enough.” he chuckled with a short nod before standing up to take his turn. ”Though I think you might be being generous saying that it'll be excellent.” he added with a faint blush.
Frankie closed his eyes, took a deep breath to calm down and ready himself before letting out a long heartfelt howl of his own. His voice, intermittently, dipping slightly only to climb back up in a way he believed to be similar to that of a wolf’s call before he slowly trailed off, bringing the sound to a gentle end. He opened his eyes and looked back at Selina to hear how he did.
Selina smiled as she listened to his howl. Truthfully, she thought it was amazing, and for someone that she assumed didn't howl on the regular, it was really good. Plus, it gave her the chance to realize just how stunning and handsome Frankie actually was. Her cheeks flushed at the thought, and she quickly glanced away for a moment, looking back at him as he finished howling. "That was really good, I don't even have many pointers," She said, grinning happily at him, "I'm surprised you didn't get some unsuspecting wolf to howl back at you."
He chuckled a little, blushing at the praise. ”Really? It was that good?” he asked, rubbing the back of his neck as he sat down beside her. The idea of having a wolf howl back and respond to him would have been really cool but it hadn’t crossed his mind until she mentioned it. He smiled happily back at her. ”Well, I’m glad it was that convincing… and that you liked it.”
She nodded, bumping him with her shoulder before looking at the sky with a smile, "Of course it was that good, and I would've loved it even if it wasn't." The sliver of the moon shone brightly and with the stars, the sky sparkled a good amount. Selina was in awe by the sight, even after seeing night skies for years. "Well…do you want me to howl as a wolf?"
He chuckled at the playful nudge, strongly tempted to wrap his arm around her shoulders and hold her against his side. But he didn't. He didn't want to make her uncomfortable. His face turned red when she said she would have liked his howl even if it was bad. Frankie had to turn his head away from her for a moment so he wouldn't follow the urge to kiss her. ”Thank you.” he said sincerely. ”Well, I don't want you to get in trouble but… Yeah, I would like to hear that.” he nodded with a soft smile.
"I won't get in trouble if it's not close to my normal howl," She replied, standing with another gentle smile before winking and walking off, returning a minute later in her wolf form. Her clothes were once again held gently in her mouth and she set them next to Frankie carefully before speaking, "Maybe me howling will show you just how similar your howl was to a wolf's howl."
His smile grew at her reassurance and nodded, blushing again at the wink. He looked away briefly so she could change but turned back when he heard her return. ”Maybe.” he agreed softly with a small nod as he was taken back again by how powerful she was as a wolf. ”Either way, I'm sure you're going to blow me away.” he smirked.
Selina huffed out a laugh, blowing a soft stream of air towards Frankie, "Competing with a wolf is unfair, I can't blow you away with an advantage." She stood next to him for a moment, then walked to where she had stood before. This time though, she sat down, taking another moment to focus before letting out a slow howl. It was nothing near her usual howl, but it was just as impressive, especially as she raised the note and held it out before lowering it back down to silence again.
Frankie chuckled as his hair was blown around a little by her laugh. ”Exactly my point.” he agreed with a smile. She was bound to be a natural and therefore much better than he was. He sat back quietly and watched as she practically sang in this form. There was a small difference between her howling as a human compared to now, but he didn't care. ”Beautiful.” he said softly as she finished.
Once again she huffed out a laugh, saying gently, "The one perk of being a werewolf, you can't see how much I'm blushing…but thank you." She stood up once she was done, walking to his side and laying down with a soft sigh. Selina was silent for a minute, finally speaking as she nudged her clothes with her paw, "Well, do you want to stay out here? Or are you itching to head back and sleep?"
”You’re welcome.” he smiled at her. ”Though I wish I could see it right now.” he teased as his own face gained a darker shade of red. He glanced down at the small pile of clothes and shrugged. ”I’m not in a hurry to go. We can stay a little longer if you want.” he told her, gently reaching up to stroke the fur around her shoulders.
She hummed as he ran his hand over her fur, resting her head on his leg gently. "I'm really fine with whatever. It's up to you and how much sleep you want to get back at your camp." Selina looked up at him, pausing for a moment before looking up at the sky and studying the stars once again.
