"Watch it, missy. I'm feeling nice today and one slip-up from you could result in a not so happy Orion. This is your one shot to make me like you again, and I suggest you take it." She shook out her wings, a few dark feathers falling to the ground. "Now speak up. I don't intend to ask you to repeat yourself."
Adeline sighed and nodded. For a bit, she didn't say anything, trying to recall the events. "I remember that I was walking back home. Yeah, that's right. Then as I turned my back, I felt someone hit me with a metal tool or something similar to that. They brought me back to Hell. And when I awoke, three demons and three angels were surrounding me, smiling down at me. Not a friendly smile, of course. They didn't explain why I was there or why they kidnapped me, or why three Angels were there, and when I tried to leave, one of them stabbed me, an Angel, and then the others did the same." She closed her eyes. "Pretty sure they had a grudge against me or something. I stayed a couple of years without a body. Trying to get a new one takes a lot of time….and paperwork. Next thing I know, I somehow appear in Heaven."
"Like I believe that," Orion said contemptuously. However, something inside her told her that Adeline was telling the truth. She pushed that thought away and nudged Adeline with her foot. "Keep talking. What happens after that?"
(it's finals week so i won't be on a ton but i'll try to post.)
(yeah, it's finals week for me too, so i understand.)
Adeline looked up at Orion and shrugged. "Well, nothing really. Expect that I regained my old job back, which was being a bloody Archangel before I fell. And that's really it. I tried to locate you, but the other Archangels told me you were fine and that they just relocated you to some other area in the world, but they wouldn't tell me where, and I never expected them to…" She paused and frowned. She knew well that they could get away with anything. Even murder. "Well actually, I do. They're assholes…but I just never expected you to fall."
"I didn't exactly fall. . .I fell, if you will." Orion watched her carefully. "The Archangels orchestrated it. We're- well, you're- supposed to be righteous and not sin or whatever. But I found someone, someone I wanted to protect. I had to kill someone to protect them, and the Archangels managed to twist that back around against me. I lost them and I can't fix what I did. I decided I needed to find whoever got me ejected and get rid of them. And based on your story, I'm going after those three angels and three demons." Orion tipped her head to the side. "And I don't like to admit it, but I could use your help."
Adeline sighed. For a while now, she had the suspicion that the Archangels had something to do with it. Especially after they technically threw her out of Heaven, just for asking questions. She never trusted the rest of the Archangels…well, except for Raphael. He was the only one who was actually ever nice to her and to the other angels. "I'm not surprised that they orchestrated it. They are manipulative assholes, after all. Though I do know for a fact, that's there's one Archangel who didn't or wouldn't help them do something like that." She paused and looked at Orion. "I'll help. It's not like I have a choice either way."
"You're right, you don't." Orion crouched and cut the rope off her hands and pulled her to her feet. "Come on, then. The first order of business is to figure out how to sneak into heaven." Orion dragged her down the sidewalk for a few blocks, then unlocked the door to her house and said, "You can go in."
(I'm sorry I haven't responded. It's Christmas break, and I'm not really allowed to be on my computer during break.)
Adeline sighed. She wasn't surprised at all. Orion would resort to threatening her or something similar if she didn't help her. She looked at Orion and frowned as she rubbed her hands and entered the house. She stood by the door and looked at the ground. "Well, it's not going to be hard really. It's not like there's a guard at the entrance or anything like that."
(dw about it me neither)
"It won't be hard for you. You're supposed to be there. If you haven't connected the dots, I'm not." Orion locked the door, then pulled out a chair and flopped into it. "We'll have to do a quick scout or something, then figure out a way to get in."
"Look, the Angels don't care who's walking around. They just care about getting their jobs done. Plus, most of the time they have their wings hidden, so it won't be a problem to sneak you inside all dressed up as an Angel." She stopped and stayed quiet for a moment, figuring out what her next step in the plan could be. "To get you into Heaven, well I'm sure Raphael could help us."
"Well. Alright. Okay. That'll be tomorrow. I expect you to be here, around nine in the morning. And if you aren't, I'm sure you know what'll happen." Orion leaned back. "You can go now. Or stay. Or whatever."
Adeline nodded nervously and made her way to the door. "I don't want to bother you, so yeah, I'll leave now." She opened the door and quickly left, letting the door slam shut. She sighed as she walked down the street to her home. That had been an interesting morning. She took out her phone and called Raphael. She told him the situation and that she needed his help to sneak Orion into Heaven. It took a while to convince him, but after a while he finally caved in.
Orion fell asleep on the couch and woke up the next day at 8:57. "This is a disaster." Her hair was a rat's nest, she still had on clothes from yesterday and looked like a literal trash bag. She frantically combed her curls and fixed the cushions on her couch.
Adeline walked down the street, sipping tea from a plastic cup. She was holding a black bag in her other hand. She finished her tea and threw the cup in the nearest trash can and then made her way to Orion's house. She knew she would be awake by now since she had made it clear to be there around nine or else it was the end for Adeline. She sighed as she stopped in front of the door. She looked down at the bag and then knocked on the door.
"Hello," Orion said, opening the door. Her voice was soft and raspy due to not talking. She coughed a bit then said, "Hello," in her normal voice. "Right. Don't just stand there."
"Yes, of course," Adeline said as she entered the house. She held out the black bag to Orion. "This has everything necessary to make you look like an angel. And obviously clothes too. If the clothes is too small or too big, tell me and I can just adjust with a miracle."
"I cannot believe I agreed to this." Orion took the clothes and went to the bathroom. She put them on and looked in the mirror. "Jesus. I look like a self-righteous teenager. ADELINE! What the hell am I wearing?"
Adeline rushed to the bathroom door when she heard Orion yell her name. "er, I believe their clothes, Orion." She said with a quiet giggle. Why do you ask? Is there a problem? Or do you just…simply not like it?"She asked as she leaned on the wall.
"I hate it. Why would anyone wear a dress? Why?" Orion looked down at herself. "It highlights the worst parts of my body."
Adeline sighed and closed her eyes. "Well, if you don't want the dress that's fine. You'll have to wear a suit, then. Technically it's for Archangels and angels of higher ranks, but it's not like it could do much damage if they see an angel wearing a suit." She said as she performed a small miracle. In her hands, there was a dark gray suit, a color closer to black.
"I can't believe I'm about to do this," Orion muttered. "Don't laugh at me, but I want your opinion." She stepped out of the bathroom. "What do you think."
Adeline turned to face Orion and didn't say anything for a couple of seconds. She then smiled at her. "Honestly, it looks good on you. But, if you don't feel comfortable wearing it…" She holds up the dark gray suit. "You can wear this. It's your call."
"Right. Let's go." Orion pulled on the skirt of the dress. "I'm beginning to regret my life choices."
Adeline shook her head and smiled. There were two ways to enter Heaven. They could enter through the main building, or Adeline could simply just..well not teleport them there, but something similar to that. "Alright, let me just call Raphael so I can tell him to meet us at the entrance of, well you know where." She said as she took out her phone. She clicked his phone number and waited till he picked up. "We're ready. We're about to head up, so meet us at the entrance." She hanged up and put her phone away. "This is going to be easier if you hold my hand because if you don't, only I will go up and you'll stay down here."
"Whatever." Orion held out her hand, slightly miffed. "What about the horns?" She pointed at her head. "I'm sure they'll care about those."
