"If I were to do that you'd lose all hope." He said wryly.
"If I were to do that you'd lose all hope." He said wryly.
"Oh, please. You have no idea what I've handled mentally. I can probably take it. And, if for some reason I don't, you owe me ice cream. Lots of it." Melanie joked, chuckling slightly. Dammit, Melanie. You can't just stop for a second and think that maybe he's not interested in you? Just get over it.
Alex laughed, "well for starters your grip and swings are off entirely, as is the rest of you stance." He said.
"Okay. So? I haven't really used a sword before. What do you expect, some master-girl on the first try?" Melanie smirked at the idea.
"Just the opposite!" Said Alex, "I would've been shocked if you knew how to do this."
"I would have died laughing if I did," Melanie added in a teasing way. "Okay, what do we do now? I'm sick, tired, and bored of losing to a superior being."
"I'm not superior!" Said Alex. Sheathing his blade, though a gold glow appeared in a nearby tree. "He might not be but I probably am" came a voice.
"Who-what? Auditory hallucinations, right? Or some sort of prank?" Melanie looked around her, whipping her head from her left to her right in utter confusion.
Alex rolled his eyes. "That would be my singkng distraction from earlier." He said pointing up a tree.
Up in said tree was a golden haired guy with gold feathered wings and a gold band on his right wrist exactly like Alex's.
"That's not-you have that thing in your bracelet?" She gestures to whatever was in the tree. "No offense." Melanie, you are not losing your mind, you are not losing your mind… You are losing your mind. Dangit.
Alex rolled his eyes. "He's a Spirit." He said flatly. "Very annoying. Sometimes helpful. Mostly annoying. Lives in the back of my head. Is connected to the bracelet." He explained it in short form not wanting to alarm her. "He's also harmless unless you're me."
"Okay. So…I'm not going crazy?' Melanie pondered for a bit and then waved at the Spirit with a nervous smile. "Hi..? I'm Melanie? Wait, unless you know that already. Now I'm making things awkward. Sorry. To both of you."
Melody smiled at her, "Don't worry about it." He said calmly. "Most people would've tried to incinerate me first…."
"Incinerate you? How could I even do that?" Melanie scowled. "I mean, I have the decency to not instantly pick a fight with someone, so…" Melanie's voice trailed off.
"Most people that one" he pointed at Alex. "Hangs around with have bad reactions to spirits" he flew down off the tree.
Melanie eyed him, taking a step back. She was unsure of whether to trust it instantly or not. "Okay…mind telling me why you're a 'superior being,' then? You're pretty much a ghost, right?"
"Spirit, and ghost are two, very different things." said Melody, "and I wouldn't call myself superior, since by anyone's terms I'm little more than a helpful-" "Or annoying" Alex interrupted. "-ghost." finished Melody glaring at Alex.
