Aki melted into the kiss. He kissed him slowly, savoring it. He didn't want this to end. He never wanted to leave Lucien's side. But tonight he'd most likely lose the amazing man before him. A shuddering sob left his lips. He buried his head into Lucien's shoulder. He hated it when he cried, but he was just so… He felt so broken. Like pieces of is heart were being chipped off.
Lucien felt his own heart breaking more as Aki cried, and he held the other male close. He sat down on the bed, gently pulling Aki with him. He rubbed Aki's back gently, trying not to cry himself. "It's…it's going to be alright." he whispered, trying to keep his voice from cracking.
Aki leaned into the other, his eyes shutting as he tried to calm himself down. He sat in Lucien's lap, shutting his eyes as he breathed in Lucien's scent, felt his warmth. He eased, his breathing slowing. "Thank you." He whispers softly, kissing his cheek.
Lucien nodded, closing his eyes and leaning his forehead on Aki's shoulder. "You're welcome." he whispered. "Just please, don't…don't leave me." he wrapped his arms even tighter around the smaller male, swallowing hard and trying not to cry himself.
Aki's hands wandered to his hair, playing with the soft strands. He shakes his head. "I promise I won't." He replies quietly, his eyes softening as he tried to gain his bearings. But he wanted to cry, scream, something to get his mind off the pain.
"I love you." Lucien whispered softly, letting out a slightly shaky breath. "That won't change just because I have to…" Have to get married and… and eventually he would have to take his wife to bed and try to produce an heir. God, could he even do that? Could he…he didn't know. He didn't know.
Aki clings to Lucien, his eyes shutting as he kept is tears back. "I love you too. So much." He whispers. His eyes shut as he took shuddering breaths to calm down. He knew exactly what Lucien was talking about and he refused to accept it. He knew that he would be replaced soon, and that Lucien would have to… To create an heir. Aki would be alone again. Replaced by Lucien's wife.
Lucien held onto him, trying desperately not to cry. Trying so hard to stay strong. He failed, as a few tears managed to slip out and he clung tighter to Aki. The twin braids on the left side of his head were neat and tidy, just as the rest of him was pressed and immaculate, but he wished he could be anyone else other than a prince.
Aki leaned up, kissing away his tears gently. He looked up at the other, his eyes gentle and warm with love, but a little teary as well. "It's going to be okay." He whispers, his hand cupping Lucien's face, smiling weakly. "I'm sure everything will be fine."
Lucien buried his face in Aki's shoulder. "I don't want to…to do this." He said softly. "I can't…" He shook a little bit, holding onto Aki tightly. "I…"
Aki hummed quietly, running his hand through Lucien's hair. He cried silently, not making a sound. "I know…" He finally whispered. "There must be something…" He whispers as he kisses the top of Lucien's head. "Breathe, my love." He gently lifts Lucien's head, wiping away his teas before setting a gentle and soothing kiss to Lucien's lips.
Lucien took a deep, shaky breath. "Aki…" He kissed the other male back, holding Aki so close that there was hardly any room between their two bodies. "Can I suddenly come down with an illness? Is that a good excuse?" He asked, trying to laugh despite the tears that were still falling.
Aki stayed close to the male, pressing against him as he kissed him slowly. "Yes…?" He whispers after pulling away. He laughed at Lucien's words, kissing his cheek. "I don't think we want a repeat of the plague, now do we?" He asks curiously, another tears falling down his face.
Lucien gave a weak laugh. "I-I don't mean that bad." He replied. "Just a bad head cold would be enough." His smile was wobbly as tears fell down his cheeks. "That would be enough."
Aki carressed his thumbs over Lucien's cheeks, his own weak laugh leaving his lips. "I suppose…" He kisses the others cheek, his eyes shutting as he tries to calm down and relax. "I'm sorry I can;t do anything.." He whispers. "I've only learned to heal sicknesses, not cause them."
Lucien wiped his eyes with the heel of his palm. "It's okay." He said softly. "I just… don't want to do this." He bit his lip a little.
He smiled weakly at the other, kissing his cheek. "I know love…" He whispers, his voice trembling. He didn't want to face the ball… But it was less then an hour away.
Lucien let out a breath. "I-I…you can still be…we can still be what we are, but…" He knew that it would be hard for Aki to both be Head Magician, and King's Consort. Especially since…most consorts weren't seen as anything positive. "But it'll be hard on…on you, and I…"
Aki ran his hand through the others hair, kissing his forehead. "I will always stand by your side, no matter what." He whispers a he kisses the others forehead, his eyes shutting as he does so. "Even if the road is harsh, even if the world is against us, I will stay by your side."
Lucien closed his eyes. "Thank you." he whispered, leaning forward to kiss Aki again. "I love you." he murmured softly, still hugging the other male tightly. He knew he would have to let go eventually so that they could go to the dance, but…he didn't want to.
Aki smiled a little bit, shutting his eyes in bittersweet bliss. It was more bitter then sweet but he would have to deal with it. Aki didn't want to let go. He wanted to hold onto the other forever. But he knew that wouldn't help. He ran his hand through Lucien's hair, shutting his eyes.
Lucien took a deep breath, leaning into Aki's hands just a little bit. He sighed softly. "We should…we should head out." He said quietly, though he didn't want to.
Aki nods weakly. He leans up, kissing Lucien's lips sweetly. "I'll always be at your side." He whispers, looking up at Lucien and giving a tiny, hopeful smile. He wiped away Lucien's tears and adjusted his outfit slightly. "There… Ready to go."
Lucien nodded, and stood, gently lifting Aki to his feet at the same moment. "Alright." They had about fifteen minutes before the ball would start. He pressed his mouth to Aki's gently. "I love you." He murmured again.
He smiled a little, leaning into the other a bit. He looked a little sad, and perhaps a little lost. He kissed the other slowly, hanging on for just a moment. He wanted to savor this to last forever, but he knew that it wouldn't. He sighed softly and nuzzled into his warmth. "Let's go." He whispers.
