"I could try to teach you. It shouldn't be too hard." Calum said, seeming a little too confident in that fact.
His smile stayed, and he led her up to the line to get food. "But not until tomorrow, at least. It's already dark, and it's kind of stupid to skate in the dark. It's also still packed away, with my stuff."
"Yes, Dark, It's stupid to do anything in the dark." She replied almost too quickly. She was quite enjoying Calum's company. She had been worried when her Father first suggested camp that she would be unable to find friends here, yet here he was.
"Wait. Are Skateboards even allowed here?" She questioned.
When she replied, he noted her nervous state. Whatever that was about, time would reveal.
"Well, they are now." Calum hummed with a little smile. "If they take it from me, I'll just have to make sure to get it back before we leave. But I seriously doubt they will. I'm a careful skater."
"Careful or not rules are rules." She replied smiling.
"And to think you had me convinced of your goodness, I must retract the earlier statement of you not being a 'bad boy'." She said this dramatically with a sigh,
"Aww, that is very true." Calum hummed a little, chuckling lightly.
"But I'm not the one who told you I was good. You must have convinced yourself of that. Considering I was a self-proclaimed bad boy." He insisted, a smirk pulling up just a little.
Cassidy punch him playfully on the shoulder.
"I'll be sure to reserve my judgments in the future." She replied with a grin.
"Have you met your Cabin mates yet?" She asked.
Calum chuckled lightly, trying not to wince when she punched him in the arm. She had better strength than he had thought.
"No, not yet." He hummed lightly. "I wasn't quite in the mood to be around people when I first got here. I didn't want to snap at them or anything. So I haven't talked to them yet."
(I'm not sure how to reply.Shall we time skip through dinner when they are returning to their cabins?)
(Works for me! Apologies for not being around.)
(No worries, Shall I start that or will you)
(Not at all)
Cassidy found her self walking closer to Calum as they went further down the path to the Cabins. Now that the sun was down it was not only dark but quite cold, she found her self shivering slightly.
Come on Casey, your fine
"So, Looks like there will be no avoiding Cabin mates any more, Eep!" Cassidy jumped at a slight rustling in the trees, involuntarily gabbing Calum's arm. She let go quickly, mumbling an apology.
Calum nodded a little, watching her warily. Cassidy seemed do nervous to him, and looked kind of chilled. Without much more thought, he put a gentle arm around her.
"You don't need to apologize. It's fine, Cassidy." He told her in a soft tone, leading her to her cabin.
"But yeah. They're probably going to be annoyed that I ignored them for so long. I'm sure they'll get over it, though. As long as I'm nice now." He hummed a little, glancing down at her. "Maybe your sweetness will rub off on me."
Cassidy was grateful for the extra warmth and leaned into him lightly, "Well If you're nice that will definitely go against your 'bad boy' persona," She remarked, "Unless you have an ulterior motive, so it looks like you'll have to think of one."
Cassidy glanced down at her feet as they walked, "Sorry for being so jumpy, the Dark and I don't really get along."
"You know I'm not actually a 'bad boy', right? I was just joking." Calum hummed softly, noting she was leaning in. It didn't bug him in the slightest, he actually kind of liked it.
"And don't apologize about that. I understand, for real. I feel the same way about other things." He admitted with a light shrug. "I'm not going to blame you for being afraid of something. Whether it's rational or irrational."
Cassidy smiled up at him, "Well thank you for that then."
She paused for a moment before, "Of course I know you were joking, I'm not that oblivious."
"I was just making sure. Some people take jokes as truth." Calum shrugged a little, noting they were almost up to her cabin.
With a little sigh, he started to pull back from her so she could head in if she wanted to. "But anyways, any ideas how I should try to warm up to them?"
"Exactly how you warmed up to me." She responded grinning.
"By being charming." Casey stepped up onto the porch , spinning around to face Calum.
"Farewell my good sir, 'till the morrow." She said with a curtsy.
He watched her, seemingly a little confused. But when she said her goodnight, he couldn't help but smile just a little. Chuckling lightly, Calum gave her a bow in return.
"Sleep well, m'lady. I shall see you tomorrow." He hummed in a soft tone.
Reaching out, he took her hand and placed a soft kiss to the back of it. "Until then, I shall go and make acquaintances of my new roommates."
Cassidy flushed as he took her hand, the shade deepened when she felt his lips brush against it. Luckily it was dark out and she was back lit. She never thought she would be thanking the darkness and yet, her she was.
"Good luck." She said softly before turning and heading into her cabin.
She closed the door behind her leaning against the door and placing a hand over her eye's.
"Great Gandscotter, Sweat Mother of Monkey milk, By Gog, Cassidy calm yourself." She muttered.
"Someone looks a little flustered." A bright voice commented, Cassidy dropped her hand to find all three of her Cabin mates looking at her with large grins.
Calum chuckled lightly, giving her a warm look before starting to walk off.
"Night, Cassidy." He hummed gingerly as he started off to his own cabin. As soon as he heard her door shut, and double checked to make sure she was inside, he felt a grin pull up.
She was so cute, he honestly couldn't believe the way he felt. His heart was pounding in his chest as he walked along.
Though he needed to get all of this out now. It would take a matter of seconds for people to tease him about it.
He did not want that to happen. Especially not at the beginning of this summer camp experience.
"I've only just met her…" Calum told himself, seeing his cabin up ahead.
Sucking in a deep breath, he quickly made his way up to the door so he could figure out how to appeal to his roommates,
(Do you want to write what's happening in Cassidy's cabin? And if so, do you want me to be one or some of the girls?)
(Sure!)
Cassidy came away from the door, "That's the understatement of the year." She replied.
"And you all are?"
(Alright, cool!)
"I'm Maya!" One of the girls greeted with a mouth full of braces.
"Or- Amaya. But I mostly go by Maya, because I like it better." She shrugged a little, brushing her dark red colored braid over her shoulder. Pushing off her bed, she walked up to Cassidy to shake her hand.
"She's super friendly…" A soft voice hummed, from the bed furthest from the door. The girl had mostly black hair, with bleached ends pulled up out of her face.
"I'm Brittney. What about you?" The softer toned girl asked, giving a light smile.
Cassidy took Maya's hand and shook it, "I'm Cassidy, Sorry for my less then graceful entrance." Cassidy replied.
She went and sprawled across her bed, " Do you two know each other?" She asked.
"Nice to meet you Cassidy!" Maya hummed in a bright tone, sitting on the edge of her own bed.
Brittney laughed lightly at her roommate's enthusiasm, before looking over to Cassidy. "We only just met, but even with five minutes of knowing each other, it's not hard to pick up what Miss Perky is like." She teased, as she started to sit up.
