Who’s up for a probably cliche modern fantasy romance rp? I wasn’t going to post this cuz I’ve got other rp’s going with this character and a similar idea but eh, why not.
Here’s your background and I know it’s long I’m sorry for that:
So basically those creatures that appear more human-ish or human like are able to blend in with the human population easily and often have normal jobs. (Aka, muses work as editors and secretaries to big companies, trolls drive buses, fairies and fae work as baristas giving people small shots of happiness and confidence in their coffees, vampires work graveyard shifts in Walmart, Dragons with human disguises work as pilots in planes or as bankers, etc.) But those creatures that can’t hide as easily such as hellhounds or centaurs or mermaids find alleyways or docks/oceans to hide in. It’s also partially why some people seem to disappear after entering an alleyway (because they’re captured or eaten by the bad creatures that hunt humans.
Some humans know about the existence of such magical creatures and are marked with a magic spell. That spell tells other mythicals that specific human knows they are around. (To the mythical creatures, the spell is a blue symbol hovering a few inches away from the human’s forehead.) The humans that know call the mythical and fantasy creatures ‘Majiks’. (Pronounced like magi-cks)
My plan is to play my character: Victor Lynch who is the son to a man who runs a corporation dedicated to giving Majiks jobs (called Lynch Corporations). The way their program works is the Majik client is given an agent to work with (such as Victor Lynch in this case) for a period of two months. In those two months, the agent will do weekly home visits, luncheons, get-to-know-you sessions, etc. to and with the client.
So I was thinking a love story between Victor (who actually hates Majiks because one hurt him as a child) and one of his clients, a Majik who somehow charmed him.
Anyone up?
Eeeey!
Fab!
Can we just jump in?
Noice I will.
It’ll be slightly different than the other one. XD
The meeting was nearly silent as a corporate head presented new job openings and ideas to grow the company. Her pointed tail flicked expectantly, the horns atop her red-haired head shining in the light of the projector. Victor guessed she was some form of demoness, not unlike his father’s secretary, Donny. Except this woman talked far more than Donny ever could.
He glowered over his coffee, clearly bored by it (or her) already. The other dolts in the room, including his father, Charles, were eating it up. Victor had enough of it.
He was almost too happy when a shy fae-born called him from the meeting on account of a new client. He would much rather busy himself for two months than sit in another boring meeting with a demoness who obviously couldn’t cover up enough of her body. Victor grabbed his coffee and hurried out the door, his coat hanging off his arm. He didn’t care for the looks cast his way.
It wasn’t long before he was passing the secretary and ignoring her friendly ‘hello sir!’ He walked through the door of his office and sighed rather loudly, placing the coffee on the desk. “Alright. Let’s get this over with. Name and species please.”
A small man sat down, the only strange thing about him was his heavy jacket that was definitely not appropriate for the sweltering heat outside. "Erm, hello. I'm Kyo, a Selkie." He muttered, trying to look down to avoid the glare that he knew the man was giving him. He just wanted to get a job that would help pay for him going back home.
(whispers Ah man Kyo’s cute already~)
Victor nodded, plopping into his seat with a small glare. He looked through a few files, pulling out a bit of paper work. “First things first, I’m Victor Lynch. I’ll be your agent for the next two months. Expect home visits and luncheons with me.” The human tapped the papers. “Sign these and look at the calendar.”
"Okay." He murmured, pulling out a pen he knew had no salt water in it, he signed the papers and looked at the calendar. "It looks good," Kyo said, he didn't want to anger this already angry man, to which he was angry about, Kyo didn't know.
His gray eyes traveled across the others face, drinking in his features. The black suit he wore was adjusted across his shoulders. “Kyo, where are you from?” He asked rather blandly, not much emotion behind the words.
He didn’t even care to really listen, instead sipping at his bland coffee. It was as bland as the gray walls of his office, only decorated with large photography prints he had taken himself.
"Technically, the middle of the Pacific ocean," Kyo stated, rubbing his arm nervously and choosing to look up for a moment before shooting his head down again. This man was scary, why did he let Logan convince him to do this.
“Ah, so an apartment is also needed?” He asked with a raised eyebrow. He was obviously the higher power here. Kyo was timid. It would have been slightly cute if he had been human. “Easily done. We have apartments. You are provided housing if you do not have any.”
"Uh, I'm staying with a friend. so I'm actually okay." Kyo said, quickly looking down at his phone, a scowl darkening his soft features. "Never mind, I don't have anywhere to live. Housing would be greatly appreciated."
Victor nodded, scribbling something down on a note pad. His handwriting was messy, the one thing he could not fix.
“One apartment as well.” He murmured, sighing loudly.
Kyo smiles happily, the smile lighting up his was darkened face. He was still hiding how uncomfortable he was, well, any Selkie would be uncomfortable without their pelt.
Victor frowned, tilting his head at the Selkie. That smile was adorable. He shook his head. Though he was bi, he hadn’t told anyone quite yet. He needed to calm his gay thoughts. Besides, this kid wasn’t human. Victor was disgusted of himself for liking the inhuman.
(… I do not like Victor, I will murder anyone who hurts my baby.)
Kyo stopped talking for a moment before breaking the silence. "Erm, what's supposed to happen now? I'm sorry for acting so stupid but I've never done this." He asked, letting his hands sink back into the sweater paws of his jacket.
(Ahahaha don’t worry he becomes a good guy eventually ;)
Victor glared slightly, leaning back in his seat. He tapped his fingers on his arms and sighed. “Now is the part where you and I are supposed to get to know each other. The best way to find you a job is to know what you’re good at.”
Victor grabbed his cellphone and dialed a call, growling at the man on the other side. “Donny, get an apartment ready. For one. A selkie.” He replied, glancing over at Kyo with a curious expression. “Ah, Good, good. We’ll be by then.” And with that, the call was ended. “Your apartment will be ready tonight by seven. Do you need a few days to pack?”
Kyo shook his head. "No, I don't have anything but my jacket." He said with his head bent to the ground, he really didn't want to get this guy mad. He seemed… Easily angered, to say the least. "And I'm good at cooking and art, that's about it." He explained, really hoping that Victor wouldn't ask about going in the water and such, he didn't want to explain about his skin.
“Then We can have you move in today.” He drawled, leaning back into his chair with a sigh. “Alright, Kyo. I’ll be seeing you later tonight. Are you in need of anything else?” He asked over his nose, flashing a smile.
"Erm, I don't believe so." Kyo said, giving a thankful smile. "And…" He paused. "Thank you, I can tell you don't like me very much, but thanks."
Victor raised an eyebrow. “I do not hate you as a person. I do, however, find your kind rather… with no offense to you, rather horrible. All Majiks I do not enjoy.” He replied simply.
