(The plus side to my Spidertaurs: they are nimble and pointy as fuck. Their downside? Not much in the way of natural armour, lmao!)
(And that's not their actual name, lmao!)
Sam: Grins, then jumps, landing behind De'Tearion. She lunges forward and the claws at the tips of her two front legs strike his hard carapace, barely scratching him but staggering him. That good enough?
(Lol. Drider is also a good filler name, even though she’s not a drow [one of those ‘mere technicality’ things, lmao!])
De Tearion: Ducks when Sam jumps, then pivots around to face her. He stumbles back several steps, winded for a moment. He chuckles. Indeed. Suddenly notices two new tears in his robe and laughs. This poor robe always gets torn somehow! Only Mercy knows why it has yet to fall apart. He then jumps up into the trees, quickly crawling over to hover above Sam. He then swings down, claws swiping at her scalp, before teleporting back to the ground.
(Hmmmm… interesting. I have some of my own nimble tanks. They aren't as interesting as the Goliathan, but rest assured, they could give them a run for their money.)
(Yeah… I guess that works.)
(Ah, that's the thing! Sam didn't actually pierce De'Tearion's carapace, she merely scratched it. Her races claws are pretty much the sharpest things my universe has to offer in the way of natural defenses. Save for the hedgepines. Those things are prickly.)
Sam: She laughs, delighted. Most would have been torn asunder by that blow! And I apologise for the robe. I should be able to mend it later. She looks startled at the leap, but looks up, hearing a slight rustle in the leaves, her predatory senses naturally attuned to those sorts of sounds. She ducks, then rears back, swiping at De'Tearion once more.
(Ooh… And considering, I think I make a lot of nimble creatures. I’m not sure, but I know it’s a common trait, lol)
(Casual shrug. I typically use Drider like that. It’s just easier for me. But, either way)
(Yup, I know. I just wanted to avoid any later confusion. Hmm… that’s pretty cool. I think Lucitius’ claws would be the sharpest things in my multiverse, unsure. Lol)
De Tearion: Laughs, then waves his hands dismissively. A few more tears will hurt it not. And I can easily sew them up. He chirps in mild surprise at Sam’s attack, but easily dodges, laughing. He then teleports behind her, shooting a stunning bolt at her, then jumps into the trees and tries to scratch her scalp again. He teleports back to the ground, grinning.
(Yeah makes sense. Actually, I could throw in a related species to Sam. It would be a Naga-like species, or Yuan-Ti. It would be interesting.)
(Yeah, fair.)
(And I said natural, as well. Magical enhancements don't really count, at least, in my mind.)
Sam: Laughs Okay, then. If you're sure. She grins, then grabs De'Tearion, pinning him in place, but upon getting hit by the stunning bolt, she staggers, shakes her head and chuckles. She doesn't manage to dodge the swipe, either. That time, you caught me by surprise! Hardly any have done that. She grapples De'Tearion once more, pinning him.
(Ooh, sure)
(Lmao! Good point. Well… then I have no clue. Goliathans would be up there, because they have some sharp ass claws, but I’m otherwise unsure)
De Tearion: Laughs. I am honored to be of the few that can catch you by surprise. He seems unfazed by her grapple, grinning mischievously. And few can hold a Goliathan prisoner. He teleports, reappearing on the back of her spider body, the claws of his feet lifted slightly so they wouldn’t dig into her. He wraps around her top half, pinning her arms to her side in a tight but gentle hug. Yet, I can hold you easily. He teleports away, reappearing on top of a tree root, standing easily despite the curve of the root.
(Okee!)
(Yeah… anyways, my most nimble race would be Danielle's.)
Sam: Laughs Not as easily as you would think, De'Tearion. She waves her six arms. After all, I do have my six arms. And possibly much more dexterity than those four of yours. And I have a further 8. If needed, I could outrun most anything.
Danielle has joined the chat
Sam: Laughing Oh, hey Danielle! She wraps her in a hug.
Danielle: Laughing It's been too long, Sam. Where have you been?
Sam: Releases Danielle. Oh, you know. Out and about. She grins mischeviously. And over there is a Goliathan, a race of warriors. His name is De'Tearion.
Danielle: Waves Hello!
(Thumbs-up)
De Tearion: Chuckles. Aye, you have make three good points, yet my strength likely surpasses yours by far. I have little doubt that I could pick you up and throw you if I desired. By this point, his hand has curled into a tight fist, but he doesn’t seem to notice it.
De Tearion: Pauses at the sight of Danielle, watching her cautiously, then shrugs. Greetings.
Danielle: Cackles Oh, I can tell he's another shape-changer, like us, aren't you? I assume Goliath Beetle. My lovely friend here is a Wandering Spider, and I am an Inland Taipan. Insectoid, Arachnoid and Serpentoid. So very interesting!
Sam: Sighs Ah, I forgot how much you talked. I can not say I truly missed that, but I can say I missed you.
Danielle: Shrugs her slim shoulders Ah, you know you like me and my words.
Sam: The sad part is, that's true. Anyways, would you like to join us in a duel?
Danielle: Gives De'Tearion a sneaky grin. Nah, I'll wait until you two are done.
(Loud gasps. Inland Taipan! Yes! Clears throat. Excuse me. I love snakes, and reptiles in general, evil grin)
De Tearion: Aye, I am a Goliath Beetle. Chuckles in amusement at the pair’s interactions, and Danielle’s look. He then glances to the side. Also, I believe the full effects of those hairs of yours are finally appearing. My old nemesis be standing over there, being as annoying as ever. He casually points over to a nearby tree. No one was there. And warn me if my claws start digging into my arm. I will feel it not. He then teleports to Sam’s side, casting a bolt that pulsed with enough energy to possibly knock Sam over. He chuckles.
(It is one of my top favorite god forsaken animals. Like, why would it need a venom so deadly, anyways? But yeah, reptiles are definitely cool.)
Sam: Looks at De'Tearion, curious. It appears my toxins are more effective on Goliathan. Interesting. She jumps over the bolt, chuckling. She reaches out and grabs De'Tearion with all 6 of her arms, tossing him in the air, shooting a web after him. You surprised me once, De'Tearion. Never again.
Danielle: Delighted, she starts clapping. Darling, you've gotten much better!
(Evil grin and thumbs-up)
De Tearion: Shrugs. I know not, yet I know that those of weaker mind than me would have collapsed in agony by now. He chirps when he’s grabbed and thrown, then teleports back to the ground, flopping onto his ass and watching the web wrap around some of the tree branches above him. He chuckles. And you will capture me not in that web again.
Sam: Laughs Ah, third time truly is the charm. And not everyone reacts so quickly. As a matter of fact, nobody has ever reacted that quickly. Which is why I've reached the conclusion that Goliathan are far more susceptible to my races toxins than most.
Danielle: Smirks Might I duel with De'Tearion, or have you drugged him senseless?
(Logging off for now, and if you've written a response by the time I've posted this, sorry!)
De Tearion: Sighs. I suppose. He lifts his curled hand, chuckling at the sight of his black blood sliding down his arm. With his other hand, he gently pries his claws out of his arm and slowly uncurls them, wincing a bit. And first blood. I must say I envy your defenses. Most of my own require vigilance and magic. He glances at Danielle. I still have my senses, yet I am at a noticeable disadvantage currently, and I know less about you than I know of Sam.
Sam: Bows and grins, her form shifting back to that of a humanoid woman. And I envy you and your magic. I must say, I don't have very much of it. Only enough to change mine form and whatnot.
Danielle: Quickly, before Sam shifts back to human, she touches Sam's leg, the hairs coming off and the toxins on them going into her blood. She grins at both De'Tearion and Sam. Now, we wait, and I shall be at a similar disadvantage.
Sam: Sighs You have not changed a bit, I see.
De Tearion: Most of the magic I know be defensive, and the offensive spells I know are often lethal. Yet, Goliathans also have natural magic, such as our morphing abilities. He watches Danielle, raising an eyebrow at her. Why have you done such? He seems a bit concerned.
Sam: Ah, that would do it, then.
Danielle: Snorts Why shouldn't I put myself at a similar disadvantage to you?
Sam: Sighs I learned long ago not to question her, De'Tearion. I suggest you accept the fact that she's insane and move on from there.
De Tearion: Sighs, still confused. He then glances to the side, sorrow filling his eyes. My bane. I had thought not that I remembered her with such detail. Looks away, sighing shakily.
Sam: Sighs and takes away the toxins in De'Tearion's system. There you go… I can at least do that.
Danielle: Confused
De Tearion: Sighs and lies on his back, seeming suddenly exhausted, his ‘wounded’ hand visibly shaking. From his body language, it’s clear that he had been extremely tense before Sam removed the toxins. Black tears stream from his eyes, both from greif and as a reaction to the sudden disappearance of agony. Mercy have me.
Sam: I- I am sorry, De'Tearion.
De Tearion: Shakes his head. You have done no wrong. Truly, I enjoyed our duel. ‘Tis merely memories that haunt me. I also now remember how much pain I could truly tolerate. I would collapse from blood loss before the pain stopped me.
Sam: Sighs Ah…
Danielle: Slithers over and runs a finger across De'Tearion's injured arm. It heals as she does so. Is that okay?
Sam: Sighs again
