Anna shook her head. "You don't have to say the false niceties. I get it. I'm not rich by any means."

" love, its not false, ive really never been to something like this.."

Anna sighed. "You're welcome to come in. Look around, I suppose. If that's what you fancy."

kane did just that, looking around like a small child in a new store

Anna followed him, a soft smile on her face. She noticed him coming close to the door of her bedroom, and she quickly slipped by him to shut it before he got there.

"?" he tilted his head " you alright?"

Anna nodded. "Yes. I'm fine."

" you seemed in a hurry, just though id ask.."

"I'm fine," Anna repeated.

he sighed and continued on looking,

"Why are you so interested in my home anyway?" she asked. "It's a normal townhouse."

" i know, but it's fascinating. to see how you lived and the things that happened.."

"'Lived'? As in past tense?" Anna asked in confusion. "And what things are you referring to?"

" every place tells a story. even in my hotel. " he took her hand and guided it across the wall " there was a hole here, " he said an showed her the weak spot in the wall

Anna stiffened. "Yes," she affirmed curtly. She remembered that night.

"was it you that put it there?"

She swallowed heavily. "No."

kane frowned " then who did? and why?"

Anna's expression was passive. "An old boyfriend."

" i promise ill never be like that.."

Anna nodded. "I know. He, um…" She shook her head. "I remember when he did that."

kane held her " you can talk about it, he won't hurt you anymore.."
