Tadeusz freezes, hand still in the air. His eyes glance down at the tip of the shovel. “I…” He begins, slowly looking up to her.
“…I’m a demon, and you accidentally summoned me?” He said, sheepishly. That was the only thing he could think of at this moment. The demon part was correct, the summoning may make sense but he wasn’t sure she would believe him at all. he begins to retract his hands towards himself again.
Em's mouth dropped open when he told her. "Am I supposed to believe that?" She blurted out. Was she actually supposed to buy that?
She looked him up and down. This was the first time that actually gotten a good look at her. Her eyes locked on his again. This time she actually realized that they were glowing.
"Holy $h!t!" She exclaimed, taking a step back while pressing the shovel further into his chest.
(I find it hilarious that somehow Em is holding a Demon at shovel point.)
Tadeusz stays still, not responding right away. “Well, it is true..” He drifts off, glancing to the side. He looks back at her when she seems to inspect him, and when their eyes make contact, Tadeusz doesn’t move a muscle. But upon her reaction and yell, Tadeusz stiffens, moving to pull away as a result of the shovel being pushed out to him further.
“..Please, don’t…don’t do that.” He mumbles, referring to the shovel.
"The book…I summoned a demon?" Em whisper yelled. "Your not here to hurt me, or steal my soul, are you?" She asked, wanting to make sure the moment she took the shovel away he wasn't going to attack her. Then again, was a shovel really going to be able to hold of a demon? It seemed to be doing alright now.
“No..I..” He stuttered. “Why would I do that? Steal souls?” Tadeusz‘s eyes look down. “I don’t steal souls,” he states quietly.
Em lowered her shovel away from him. She leaned it against the table before walking across the room and flicking on the light.
"So lets get this straight," She said, pulling a chair out from the table and sitting in it. "You're here because I accidentally summoned you?"
Tadeusz blinks, adjusting to the light. “I mean, that’s only what I could really think of that actually made sense,” he admitted. Tadeusz stood up straight this time, to full height. “I don’t know, what were you doing before you… hypothetically summoned me?”
Em rested her head in her hands and let out a soft groan. "I was trying to read a book in my basement, but I couldn't read the language so I tried sounding it out." She explained before looking up at him.
"Damn. You are tall." She mumbled when he stood up to his full height.
“Oh.”
Tadeusz seemed to think. “A strange book..? I’m not completely sure either right now..“ he paused. “I mean, it may have been some sort of summoning book or something. That would make sense.”
He glanced down at her. “Or maybe you’re just short,” he jokingly said, though after some thought he brought a finger to his chin and looked up, adding quietly in a mutter. “Yeah, you’re probably right though. I am tall.”
"Oh course it was a summoning book." Em let out a sigh. "It had to be a summoning book."
"I am above average, excuse you." She snapped back, though there was a small smile on her face. "You'e freakishly tall."
"We should probably introduce ourselves." Em said, sticking out her hand. "I'm Emerald, but you can call me Em."
Tadeusz looks back at her again. He holds out his hand, careful with his nails. “Tadeusz Kielar, at your service. Although..” Should he give her his given name? There was no harm in doing so, after all…
“..Although, Torzonas is my given name. You can call me by Torz if you want to. Nice to meet you…” He pauses. “…What now?”
Em smiled. "Nice to meet you Torz. Uh…sorry about the shovel." She said sheepishly.
"I have no idea what should happen now." She said with a shrug. "What do you usually get summoned for?"
“It’s fine.” He closes his eyes, thinking. “I uhh..”
“Well, that’s the problem. I don’t ever get summoned by anyone, this is the first time someone else actually summoned me.” Torz opens his eyes again and shrugs. “So frankly, I don’t know.”
"Well, I don't know either." Em said with a shrug. "I guess I could go get the book and try to send you back but I don't want to read off random lines and keep summoning demons in my house."
"If I get the book, do you think you could read which one I need to read to send you home?" She asked.
Torz faltered, seeming as though he was going to say something but stopped. “Eh….” He seemed to be lost in thought for a moment.
“Ooh, please don’t send me back home..!” He quickly said, his tone becoming more panicked. “I cannot go back to Hell again!” There were many reasons for that, of course..Torz would explain if need be. “Please let me stay here!” He leaned down again.
Em jumped at Torz's panicked tone. "O-OK! I won't!" She said, reaching out and placing her hands on his shoulders. "Calm down. I won't send you back to…Hell."
Torz stares at Em for a few seconds, before closing his eyes. “Oh, thank you..” He says, in gratitude. He opens his eyes again. “But seriously,” he whispers, “what now?”
"I guess your going to stay at my house?" Em said with a chuckle. "Does that sound good to you?" She asked.
Torz stayed still for a few seconds, thinking about what she’d said.
His response didn’t take long, though. His tone was almost excited. “Oh, that sounds good! But where will I stay?” He’s always wanted to have conversed with a human, and here he was at this very second. And now, he was living with one?!
"There is a extra bedroom that is just filled with boxes at the moment. I could clear that out and then I could buy an air mattress." Em explained, slowly. It seemed pretty obvious that he didn't know too much about how things worked here. "How does that sound?"
He nods quickly. “That sounds good!” He lifts his head, glancing around the kitchen.
Em let out a long sigh. "Good." She said, sitting back in her chair. This wasn't wasn't she expected to do on a sleepless night but I guess it was something she would have to deal with now.
Torz looked back again and shuffled up to the table, pulling out a chair to sit down across from her. He crossed his legs and leans forwards, setting his chin in his hands.
“What are you going to do now that everything is…somewhat settled?”
Em gave him a confused look. "I probably should go to bed, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to go to sleep after this." She said, resting her head on the table.
"I expected to get up, read a bit, and head back to bed. Didn't expect to summon a demon." She mumbled.
