“Mhm.” Danny nodded, running his fingers through his hair rather carelessly. “I heard it grows really fast after you shave it, too.”

He shrugged. "Or at least, it seems that way." he replied, taking a sip of tea again.

“Well.. yeah, I guess that’s kinda what I meant, yeah.” Danny shrugged, standing up to go ahead and get more water. He meant to start carrying a water bottle around, but he always ended up forgetting.

He nodded slightly. "Same thing." he sat down, looking around the apartment for a moment, then at Danny again.

“Essentially.” He agreed, sitting back down. “Sorry for like.. drinkin’ all your fuckin’ water, dude. Thirsty as hell for some reason.”

He laughed. "It's fine. I don't have a water limit for the month or something. Don't worry about it."

“Alright, alright, least I know I’m not drinkin’ ya outta house ‘n home or anythin’ like that.” Danny stretched, setting down his cup. “Think I’m gonna end up shifting soon, that sucks.”

He smiled, then cocked his head at the second remark. "Uhm…should I be worried about that?" he asked slowly.

“I mean..? Not unless you wanna be? I don’t go fuckin’ rabid or anything, it just ups the food intake I need.” There were other things, of course, but Danny didn’t feel like adding them yet unless Alex pushed further.

He nodded a little bit. "Alright. Sorry if that was offensive or something, I just…I don't know. Sorry." he let out a faint laugh, dragging a hand through his hair.

“Nah, man. It’s not offensive, I’m just sayin’ that sometimes some misinformation goes around and it’s kinda fucked up, that’s it.” Danny shrugged, still looking pretty calm about the whole thing. “Shifting is just a weird thing, y’know?”

He nodded slightly. "Right, yeah. I get it. Sort of." he bit his lower lip slightly, shrugging his shoulders. "I'm trying get it, anyways."

“It’s kinda tough if ya don’t live it, I guess. I’d give you a crash course, but I don’t know if you even really want that.”

He nodded slowly, then shrugged. "I mean…you can try to give me a crash course, but I make no promises that I'll understand…any of it." he let out a faint laugh.

“‘Kay, so let’s start with the fact that werewolves, contrary to popular belief, don’t always go fuckin’ ape once they shift. We’re stronger with better senses, but we don’t just freak the fuck out anymore. If we’re actually gettin’ into it, we’re prob’ly worst.. during the weird phase between like.. us and the shift, if that makes any sense.” Danny chewed on his thumb nail. “Because then we’re at our hungriest, we’re in hella fucking pain, we’re tired, plus we got all this fuckin’ testosterone that just.. goes through the roof.”

Alex nodded a little, trying to process the information and make sense of it. "Right." He said slowly, drawing the word out a little. Not in a disbelieving way, more of in a absorbing the information way.

“Also our blood turns black, but I think that’s more of a side effect of being an actual fuckin’ monster than anything sciency.” Danny added nonchalantly with a shrug.

He blinked slightly. "Well, to know that you'd have to have it like…like you'd have to do tests I guess? It's entirely possible that like the bloods chemicals change when you go from human to wolf, so…" He trailed off, shrugging.

“I dunno, there’s just some shit ya just don’t gotta know why.” Danny shrugged. “Just gotta accept it ‘n move on. Anyway- what fuckin’ sucks is that the damn shift cycles? Yeah, they’re irregular as fuckin’ hell. Isn’t that just the worst, dude?”

Alex nodded a little bit. "Yeah, I can guess they would be." He replied, looking at Danny. "I mean obviously I've never dealt with it, but I'd guess it's terrible."

“Sucks ass. My longest shift.. like.. transition, I guess? Was.. six days. Six long-ass, painful-ass days.” He laughed a bit, taking a sip of his water again.

He wrinkled his nose. "Gross. That must have sucked, I'm sorry." He replied, looking at Danny.

“Yeah, it did, felt like a fuckin’ animorph, man.” Danny laughed, though he hated to remember the thought.

He laughed softly, shaking his head. "Gross." He replied, running his fingers through his hair.

“So fuckin’ nasty.” Danny laughed, chewing on his nails again. “Worst part of bein’ a werewolf, and that’s takin’ everythin’ else into consideration.”
