Abaddon hummed, trying to think of a simple question. "How about… what's your favorite color?"
Abaddon hummed, trying to think of a simple question. "How about… what's your favorite color?"
"I like teal. What about you?" Noah asked, leaning back in the chair.
"Dark purple," he said, smiling softly. He stopped toying with his empty coffee cup and looked over at the front counter. "Is it okay if I get more coffee real quick?"
Noah nodded. "Yeah, that's fine. I won't go anywhere." He smiled back at him.
"You want anything?" He asked. He'd already offered earlier, though he figured he should do so again since he was getting coffee for himself.
"Just some water. I'm trying to cut back on my coffee intake." Noah watched him.
"Got it," Abaddon said with a nod. He stood up and walked to the front counter, ordering another large mocha for himself and a bottle of water for Noah. After he got them he sat back down, handing him the water and holding the coffee close his face, the steam drifting from the cup warming his face. "Got a question for me?"
Noah took the water and took a sip from it. "Do you like traveling?" He asked after a couple moments. He wasn't exactly sure what he was supposed to ask, considering it was their first date, of sorts.
Abaddon had to think about that for a moment. He wasn't sure how to answer that, since he'd seen nearly everything in the human world. "Sometimes. I enjoy showing other people new places, I guess."
"Where have you gone?"He asked. "I've never gone anywhere besides college." He leaned in and propped his chin on his fist.
Abaddon's gaze lingered on Noah for a tad bit longer than usual. He looked down at the table, blushing slightly. You're not his boyfriend, you're just helping him out, calm down, he thought to himself. "Well, I-I've been out of the country a few times. I lived in Italy with a friend for 3 years, and I've vacationed in quite a few other places."
Noah smiled. "Italy is pretty. Where have you vacationed?"
Abaddon rubbed the back of his neck nervously. Everywhere, he thought to himself, but he didn't want to say that. "I've been to Japan a few times. Poland, I think, and I went to Australia but left early."
Noah stared in fascination. "That's a lot of places. What's it like traveling to foreign places? What about language boundaries?"
"Uhh, well my friend speaks a lot of foreign languages, and it's not too difficult to pick up the basics of them, so he used to teach me whenever we traveled together." English is actually a foreign language to me, but I speak it more than I speak Gehennish, he thought. "And it can be fun, learning about new places and cultural differences, but after a while I start to miss home."
"That sounds like a lot of fun. I wish I could travel. But being broke doesn't exactly allow you to travel." He chuckled softly before taking another sip of his water.
"Well, I could take you anywhere you want to go, or at least buy the ticket for you," he offered, sipping his coffee. It was too hot, and it burned, but he did his best to hide his pain.
"You don't have to do that." He said. He tilted his water to him. "Want some?"
Abaddon bit down on his tongue lightly and shook his head. Burning his mouth from coffee wasn't exactly the first impression he wanted to make on their first… date? Meet up? Whatever this was.
"Are you sure? That coffee had to burn." His eyes were light up in amusement. He placed the water in front of him. "Go ahead, I don't mind."
"I can handle pain," he protested, almost wincing at the feeling of air on his tongue. That was a lie, he definitely couldn't handle pain. Reluctantly, he took a drink of the water, muttering an embarrassed "thank you" afterwards.
The sound that came out of Noah's mouth could be described as a giggle and he quickly shut his mouth, his cheeks flushed. "No problem." He muttered.
Abaddon tried to discreetly hide his smile behind his hand, but he couldn't hide the blush. His laugh is adorable, he thought, smile growing a bit wider.
Noah scrunched his eyes in a mocking glare as he took hi is water back and aggressively sipped from it. "Anything else you want to know about me?"
Abaddon removed his hand from his mouth, picking up his coffee but not drinking it. "Yes, of course, but I don't want to keep you here for any longer than you want to be, and we've been here for quite a while." Abaddon wasn't the greatest at figuring out whether somebody enjoyed his company or not, so he always assumed that they didn't and gave them the option to leave. He didn't want to keep somebody if they didn't enjoy spending time with him.
