He sighed softly and reached up to press kiss to the corner of Finn’s lips. “Alright, dear.” He gently squeezed his hand “i have to meet my sister later so I won’t be here most of the day but I’ll be back by tonight if you want company on the patrol.” He said softly, glancing up at the clock to make sure he wasn’t too late for meeting Jacks
"Ok I'll see you tonight," Finn said before capturing the other boy's lips. the kiss was short and ended with him taking a step back. He rand a hand over his hair. "I'm going to go and get ready." Finn had a soft smile but the nerves from earlier were still on her face.
He tilted his head slightly, following Finn as they kissed until he took a step back. Brink laughed softly and shook his head as he took a deep breath. “Alright, darlin, i’ll see you tonight.” He said with a small smile, squeezing his hand gently and letting him go.
Finn nodded. "Can't wait," Finn said before leaving his room. Getting ready for the rest of his day and getting poppy ready to go to the park. They leave a few minutes after. Finn kissing Brink on the cheek before he leaves.
He smiled and waved them off before he too got ready to meet his sister. He decided to call her up as he pulled on a jacket and headed out. “Hey big sis!”
“Hey troublemaker, how ya been?”
“Pretty good actually, I have so much to tell you.”
“Really? Can’t wait to hear it! See you in about 10?”
“Sounds good, see ya then.”
Finn had an uneventful day. Taking Poppy to the park and then to the apartment. They sat on the couch ad watched movies Willow would come to watch Poppy in a few hours but for now, all Finn had to do was rest. He relaxed on the couch. Poppy played with some toys on the coffee table while watching the movie.
Brink waited on the side of the curb, hidden in the shadows of the buildings looming over head until a black colored car pulled up Andy drew down its windows, revealing a stunning, pale woman with deep red lipstick and blonde hair.
Brink smiled and got into the passenger seat, sighing in relief. “Now don’t you look lovely.” He drawled, gently speeding his sisters hand.
“Aw thanks, not too bad yourself.”
Brink directed her towards the abandoned carnival where he had brought Finn.
“How’s mom and dad?” He asked after a while.
Jacks’ lips turned down slightly “not too good. Dad had another one of his moments and mom had enough. They’re separate. And it looks like for good this time.” She’s glanced over at her little brother and offered a small smile. “But enough about them, how are you?”
Brink pulled on a slight smile “I’ll tell you once we get home.”
Finn put poppy to bed once Willow arrived. Putting on his suit under some of his normal clothes. mask in his messenger bag. He waited around for a bit but decided to leave a little early. Telling Willow to let Brink know if he came back looking for him. He wondered around the town as normal. stopping at some store before they closed and wondered around a park he knows has a lot of robberies or attacks.
“You have a boyfriend?! And didn’t tell me sooner?!” Jacks hugged her brother and ruffled his hair.
“Well, kind of.” Brink managed to say once out of her hold.
“Kind of? Well don’t you like this man? Don’t you want to be with him?”
“Yes! Of course I do! But here are so many things that could go wrong with me loving him. I’m still part of the criminal underworld. I could endanger him and his family!”
Jacks sighed and shook her head. “I know I may come off as cliche but If you love him, and he loves you, then you’ll both find your own ways to keep each other safe.”
He nodded slightly and took a deep breath, resting his head against her shoulder. “I do love him. The last thing I want to do is hurt him or the others.”
Jacks smiled softly and tilted her head “you won’t.”
He sighed softly and peeked outside, seeing that it was sundown. “Come on, I promised him I’d meet him for a patrol.”
Jacks stood with him and smirked, “since when are you a hero?”
He laughed softly “never even when I try, but I promised him I would.”
“How cute, so I get to meet this boyfriend of yours? What an honor.” He laughed and nodded “yep!”
He guided her out, both immediately running off towards town, bounding on rooftops and making their way through alleyways until they reached a park
Finn was sitting down on a random bench. The sun was setting and he was now wearing his uniform. Mask on as he sat with his legs crossed. It was a slow night and he planned on getting up in a minute. then he saw shadows moving along the rooftops. He stood up trying to get a closer look. He recognized Brink getting closer along with someone he didn't recognize. He waved at them walking closer to the pair.
Brink waved back, breaking into smiles and he hugged him and gestures to Jacks who was standing beside him, deeply amused.
“Finn, this is my sister Jacklynne. Jacks this is Finn.”
She smiled “your boyfriend Finn, right?” She teased, her smile only growing when Brink looked away to his his reddening cheeks, his only indication that she was right was a nod.
“Nice to meet you Finn, I hope my little brother hasn’t given you too much trouble.”
Finn's face heated up slightly when Jacks mentioned Finn being his boyfriend. He glanced down at Brink smiling at him before looking at Jack. "Not at all," He said smiling wide laughing slightly. "It's nice to meet you though Jacklunne." He looked around them slightly. He always checks his surroundings. Likes to be completely aware of it.
Jacks eyed brink suspiciously, though her smile stayed “he must really like you then to not have done anything remotely concerning then.” She mused, genuinely glad that her little brother was happy. “Well then, I’ll be leaving you two for now, I’m sure you’ll want to spend the night alone together without me bothering you.” She winked and started walking back the way they came. “Let me know if you have any single siblings, Finn! Brinks not the only one who’s looking for some love!” She called over her shoulder
Finn smiled and nodded. "I'll keep that in mind," He called back laughing. "So you guys have fun?" He took Brink's hand. Leaning in and kissing his cheek lightly. "It's been a slow night. Helped someone find their phone earlier so that was interesting." He was still smiling but it looked slightly strained. He himself wasn't even sure if he was scared he was missing something or not needed anymore.
Brink smiled softy, the blush still on his cheeks as he walked with Finn. “I could always shake things up a bit if you’d like.” He suggested teasingly, lacing his hand with Finn’s. “If the city isn’t up in flames or close to it, I’d say you’re doing a pretty good job. You deserve a break every now and then.”
Finn lightly bumped into him after the tease. He nodded squeezing Brinks had slightly. "You're right thank you.," He said smiling down at him. He was definitely missing something though. He walked through the empty park still holding hands with Brink. "Plu sI think I've ruined your bad bo persona too much for you to do much damage." He teased him back.
Brink raised his eyebrows and breathed a laugh “oh really dear?” Brink shook his head. “I don’t think these things just go away in one day. But I’d do have to admit, you do have an affect on me that’s…different. In a good way.” He shrugged with a soft smile “who knows,” he tilted his head up to meet Finn’s gaze “maybe you are affecting me. I’m not entirely apposed to some change.”
"I guess you are right it would take a bit longer. I think we'll both come out changed from this," He said meeting Brink's eyes. "we can stay out a little later then go back to mine." He played with Brink's hand absently. Swinging it between them. there was some movement in the distance but Finn didn't notice anything. Other than that the park was peaceful and empty. It usually creeped Finn out. The shadows and eerie feeling but it felt nice with Brink.
Brink nodded with a smile “yeah, that’d be great. I just have to make sure Jacks is alright before we go to your place.” He said smiling and glancing up at the night sky. “Is it ok if I show you something? That is if you have time.” He asked, gently guiding them away from the park and back into town
(Also i accidentally said brink for something instead o Finn but i fixed it lol)
Finn smiled and nodded. "I have time for anything. show away," He said. He actually didn't look as tired as he had the 2nd time meeting Brink. He looked away from Brink for a moment and around them but his eyes landed right back on Brink. "How is your sister? She seemed nice."
(I didn’t even see that XD)
“She’s alright. I think she’s more shaken about mom and dad’s split than she’s letting on but she’s always been like that. Hiding her own feelings to protect others.” He shrugged and sighed softly “I’m actually quite surprised that she took a liking to you so quickly. She’s usually more defensive.” He laughed and gently rested his head on Finn’s shoulder. “She’s more of the wild child in the family, believe it or not.” He added on, leading him around the city, keeping her head down as they passed by a more shadier part of the area
(sorry end of semester killed me)
Finn kept their hands connected and nodded. He let Brink lead them both. looking around slightly but not trying to stand out. the sun was completely down now and not all of the street lights work well. He smiled when he felt Brink's head rest on his shoulder. "more wild than you? I didn't think that was possible," He teased. Ruffling his hair slightly with his free hand. "Your parents are separating?" He felt bad for never really asking brink much about his family.
(It’s alright!)
Brink laughed as Finn ruffled his hair “oh yeah, if you think I’m crazy you should see her when mad.” He took a deep breath and nodded his head, his tone growing more somber “yeah, it’s happened a few times before but never like this. They usually fight, then after a few months they get back together.” His brows furrowed together as if confused “guess moms had enough of dad’s outbursts. Can’t blame her. I just hope she’s okay, she’s been known to get a bit…crazy when alone with her emotions.” He shook his head and straightened slightly. “Anyways, enough about them, we’re almost there.” He said, nodding to a large amphitheater building. It’s white marbled walls and gold accents making ut seem as if it were glowing even in the dimness of the surrounding streets. Even from the outside, you could hear music playing.
Finn listened carefully while Brink talks about his family. Tightening his hold on his hand slightly. "I-" he shook his head slightly loss of words. "Sorry I hope she's doing well." He looked up at the building. He heard the music and looked over at Brink. "The amphitheater? My parents used to go there sometimes. I've Never been though," He said keeping his eyes on Brink wondering what he was up to.
He offered a softly smile and nodded “yeah, me too.” He glanced up at the apitheater and grinned widely, tugging Finn into a walk again, this time towards the alleyway next to the building “Well then, I’m honored that I’ll be the one showing you this.” Brink said over his shoulder as he continued to lead Finn towards a side door that happened to be unlocked
