"Uh… Well, I don't have a job yet so I don't have money to buy things. I've already read the library books and eaten… I don't know."
"Uh… Well, I don't have a job yet so I don't have money to buy things. I've already read the library books and eaten… I don't know."
“You could see and visit my place…if you want.” She finished the last swallow of her drink and set it aside.
"Er… okay, if you're okay with that, of course."
“Yes, of course I’m good with that.” She grinned, “I can show you Apollo’s things too.”
"Alright…" Lloyd stood up and threw his cup away, going out to the car with Sabina.
Sabina threw her trash away behind him and followed out to the car, bearing an excited bounce in her step.
They reached the apartments soon enough and Lloyd hesitated before entering Sabina's apartment.
Sabina glanced over once she unlocked the door, “It’s Okay, I keep my house pretty clean and tidy. Apollo doesn’t even make messes anymore. At least not many.” She humored.
Lloyd examined the room curiously. "There are a lot of things in here… Is this normal for an apartment?"
“This is way normal.” She shed her jacket and hung it up on the hooks beside the door to let her wings stretch, “And a lot more interesting than yours,” She teased.
Apollo leapt out of her pocket to the floor.
Lloyd nodded a bit. "Mine does not need to be interesting. It is simply the place where I sleep."
“Well, come look where I sleep.” She began walking towards her bedroom,” Where you sleep doesn’t have to be just where you…sleep. It can make you feel things. Like peace.” She grinned, “And comfort, which is something you seem to lack in your sleep.”
"Comfort?" The word felt strange in Lloyd's mouth. To him, the place he slept didn't need to be comfortable. It just needed to be safe from enemies.
“Yes, just let me show you.” She grinned, heading over to the room down the hall from the heavily furnished living room and kitchen.
Lloyd followed Sabina to her room and surveyed it quietly. "Do I have a room like this? If so, I haven't found it yet."
“I don’t know, I think I saw one.” She answered, “But I doubt it’s decorated like mine.” She chuckled and opened the door.
Her room had a pastel blue decor with a large (queen sized) bed placed in the middle. Four pillows sat at the head of it, placed in reclining positions over the top of the white comforter. Two paintings of various plants hung on the wall above the bed. In the corner by the open window sat a large potted plant bathing in the natural light. Either side of her bed stood a side table with a lamp and a book.
"Do you have a husband?" He asked suddenly with complete seriousness, walking around the bed as he examined it. "This is quite a large bed for one person." (He's not trying to suggest they get married he's just confused lol. He's never really seen a large bed for only one person)
(Lolol ok!)
“Oh..” she blinked and sank down into the bed, “No, I’m not married. I just like having a lot of room to sleep. One of my friends gave it to me a long time ago. She’s gone now.”
"Gone? Like Nathaniel?" Lloyd looked up at her, confused. "Or left to travel alone?" He remained standing as he glanced about the room. Honestly, it was against his nature to be alone with a woman in her bedroom anyhow; he wasn't married, after all.
“She’s a human, and she moved away to go get married in another state.” She answered, “You can sit down in that chair if you want.” She gestured to the recliner chair in the corner.
Lloyd nodded and sat down, folding his hands neatly in his lap. "I've never had a human friend before. What are they like?"
“They’re a lot like angels in their temperament.” She replied, “Most of them are pretty grounded in their reality and they don’t believe in angels.”
"Why not? There's plenty of proof." Lloyd extended his own wings for a moment as an example.
“True..” she shrugged loosely, “But I don’t know, they just like to believe in their own worldly science and views. They believe there’s no scientific a being like us could fly, so how could we exist at all?”
"But there is a scientific reason. Take a look at birds, for example. They can fly because their bones are hollow. So are ours, and so we can fly." Lloyd emphasized his words with one hand.
