“Had..?” Her voice softened with both interest and concern.
“Had..?” Her voice softened with both interest and concern.
Lloyd nodded a bit. "He… had an unintentional altercation with a human that… uh… didn't really end well on his part."
“Oh..woah..” she frowned, “I’m so sorry..”
"Don't worry about it… it's not your fault. I think I sort of have a small resentment of humans deep down because of it, though."
“That’s understandable, I get it.” She reached her hand halfway across the table.
Lloyd glanced at her hand nervously. "The, uh… the 'altercation' involved a human duck hunter. I believe he mistook Nathaniel for a duck while he was flying, and… well, I'm sure you can determine how that one ended."
Sabina nodded, “Yeah..I guess that didn’t end well.” She glanced off to the side, “If you don’t mind—you don’t have to say if you don’t want to—what was he like?”
"He was quite shy, really. He was pretty young and hadn't been in too many battles, so he'd retained his innocence."
“Aw..how old was he?” Her expression drifted into a somber type of intrigue to learn of his mystery brother. What happened when someone created to be in heaven died?
"Physically and mentally, around ten. Angels don't typically keep track of their actual age, since they're immortal and all…"
“Yeah, of course. I don’t remember mine either.” She lifted her mug up to take a sip, but didn’t break eye contact.
Lloyd tapped his fingers on the table nervously. "B-But yeah… far too young; especially for an angel."
Sabina sighed through her nose, “Much too young..I wish I had a sibling.”
"Heh… they can be pretty hard to keep up with sometimes. I think it's worth it, though."
“Yes..” She hummed, falling quiet until, “What even happens when an angel dies? I feel like I should know this given I am one, but..” she trailed off with a chuckle.
"Well…" Lloyd thought for a moment. "Angels have souls as well. I'm not sure exactly, but I believe their soul would return to heaven, just as a human's does. I think angels can be reincarnated, but it's quite rare."
“That would mean you can see your brother when you go back to heaven after your mission.” She smiled, “That’s good.”
Lloyd nodded. "Maybe. I'm not sure sure if angels' souls are held anywhere in particular."
“Has anyone ever asked?” She took another sip of her drink, “It’s an interesting thought..”
"I don't think so. Angels are typically quite difficult to kill, so I think it would be rare for something like that to come up."
“Does that mean your brother might be alive?” She perked up, “That would be amazing, if he was.”
"Alive? No, I definitely saw him die. It's likely that his soul is still around somewhere, though, in the midst of hundreds of millions of other souls. He could be quite difficult to find."
“Ohh, Okay, yeah that’s true.” She sighed again, “At least there’s a little bit of hope.”
Lloyd nodded. "Possibly. Anyways, uh… is there anything else you wanted to talk about?"
“I guess not.” She shrugged, “It isn’t an interview of anything, is there anything else to wanted to do today? Even just generally?”
