She sighs as she throws her shoes to the side "I just….. I just want you to talk to me instead of" she stops and motions to the empty bottles that scattered the room " and not drowned yourself in liquor"
"Talk about what?" Jo asks, genuinely curious.
"About what's going on with you, anytime anything happens you just run to a bottle. "
Jo snorts.
"Well, you see, emotions are something I was told I should never show, so when there's too many of them the only thing I can do is drown them in a lake of vodka. My father told me many times, 'Don't cry. Don't love. Don't fear. Those things make you weak.' And then I proved him wrong, and then he killed my wife. So yeah, I run to the bottle when something happens. Because at least drunk, I can forget about everything that makes me want to turn the world to ashes."
"Jo… It's not healthy and you know that that's not true because if you really felt that what you wouldn't tell me that you love me… Liquor is not something you should indulge in because your doing what a human does, which is feeling emotion. "
Jo pauses.
"I told you, Nicole. . . I proved him wrong. My wife was my strength, my will to live. I lost her, I lost both of those things. I lost sight of the lessons I'd learned, and fell back on the harsh beatings and screams of my father. Then I found you. At first, I absolutely hated you. I still stayed around, though, because I understood then that maybe that hate would give me a reason to live. I never expected to fall in love with you. But now that it's happened, I have strength. Maybe not a will to live, as much, but enough of one to avoid putting a round in my skull."
They pull out their gun and simply toss it to the side.
"But if my fights, my recklessness, irritates you, I can change that." they say, a hopeful gleam in their eyes. There's also pleading, there.
She say there looking at him for a moment before getting up and walking over to him "your telling me that your willing to change your ways… Just so I'll be happy?
Jo nods.
"I may be drunk, and tired of the world's bullshit, but I'm telling the truth. It won't be an immediate change. Hell, it may not be visible changes even in a few months. But I'll change. So just. . . stop looking so sad all the time, okay? It hurts me to see you always looking so hurt and defeated. . ."
Nikki laughs a little bit and kisses his cheek before whispering in his ear "maybe I look sad and defeated is because I am"
Jo sighs, and places a gentle hand on Nikki's cheek.
"I want that to change, Nicole. I want you to look happy and victorious. I want to help with that. Let me help, okay?" they murmur, placing their forhead on Nikki's.
She sighs with a little smile on her face "I don't do shrinks jo you remember that they have no use to be they don't help, do not try and be my shrink"
Jo snorts.
"I'm not trying to be a shrink. If I wanted to be your shrink, I would have a clipboard, pen and paper out."
"Hmm that's exactly what a shrink would say. " she said with a smile as her looked up at him her forehead still on his
Jo sighs.
"Okay, well. . . if that's the case, then I'll prove through action that I'm not trying to be a shrink."
They move their head back a bit, then lean down, pressing their lips to Nikki's carefully.
Nikki smiled and leaned into the kiss she wrapped her arms around his neck and she let out a soft breath
Jo smiles a little himself, wrapping an arm around her back, pressing her against him, the other coming up to the back of her neck.
He parts her lips with his, gently, sliding his tongue into her mouth.
Nikki let's him do as he pleases not really caring at this point she was… Actually happy I this moment and she didn't want that to change she let out a soft gasp when he slid his tongue into her mouth but she didn't fight against it
Jo eventually pulls away from the kiss, looking at Nikki.
"What do you want to do?" they murmur.
Nikki collects herself and eventually looks up at jo "i- don't know.. "
Jo gazes at Nikki.
"I mean right now. What do you want right now?"
Nikki pauses for a moment before smiling a little "literally anything that involves me laying in that bed, "
Jo raises an eyebrow.
"Well, if that's the case. . ." they murmur, the hand at Nikki's back sliding down to her thighs. They lift Nikki easily, then set her down in the bed.
They slide on top of her, leaning down and kissing Nikki again, differently than earlier; fiery, passionate.
Nikki helps when he picks her up not really expecting it, she doesn't stop him even when his lips are on hers again and she has no idea why..why is she letting this happen she told him this wasn't going to happen but now….
Jo takes it slow, knowing Nikki might have some conflicting feelings about all of this.
But eventually, they break off the kiss to slide off their shirt, leaving their scarred chest bare and exposed. They lean back down, kissing nikki once more, hands exploring, seeking, finding.
Nikki takes a deep breath when the kiss is broken and gets a glimpse of his chest and his scares and her face instantly turns red as she remembered hers sh3 stiffened as her kissed her again eventually relaxing her body
