Maddie shrugged, "I don't know. Until you kick me out?"
Maddie shrugged, "I don't know. Until you kick me out?"
"In that case, stay as long as you like."
She blushed a little, "Do you have anybody worried about you? Like, a best friend or a girlfriend?"
He shook his head. "I'm a loner."
"Ah, right. You really don't have any friends or anything?"
"I mean, I know people from work, but I'm mostly sleeping when I get home, so I don't really have time to go out and make them. And they're a pain in the ass to keep."
"That makes sense. Sad, but it makes sense."
He shrugged. "Sounds sadder than it really is. But, hell, I'm over here telling my life story and you haven't told me jack."
Maddie chuckled quietly, "There's nothing much to tell. Lived in England until I was a teenager then my family moved here," She shrugged, "That's it."
(I am so sorry, I completely forgot about this!)
"England, huh? Interestin.'" For a man who was just shot, he was incredibly causal, as if this was nothing new for him.
(ooft, I thought this died to be honesst with ya)
Maddie nodded and hummed her agreement, "Interesting is one word for it. I'd use cold."
"I couldn't deal with driving on the other side of the road. I would crash so much it wouldn't be funny." He flashed a grin.
Maddie chuckled softly, "It's taken me ages to get used to driving on this side, I swear I should have my car taken away from me."
"You drove pretty fine on the way here," he noted.
She shrugged, "That's after a couple months driving through the backstreets at ten miles an hour to get used to it."
Baylee chuckled. "That's how everyone learns." He cut himself off from a usual sarcastic sweetheart, feeling it wasn't appropriate.
She cracked a small smile, “I guess that’s true. But, you live and you learn.”
"You know what I learned today?" he asked, grinning sarcastically.
(I'm going to make an attempt to stay up late so we can roleplay)
(Ooft, okay)
Maddie raised an eyebrow, "And what was that?"
(Didn't end up happening, my bad)
"Bullets," he said knowledgeably, "Fucking hurt."
(Bumpity?)
Maddie chuckled, shaking her head slightly, "If you'd said otherwise you'd be insane."
"Maybe I still am. Maybe this is my one moment of sanity left." The doctor walked in a few minutes later, clipboard in hand as he asked Maddie to leave.
"You can come back tomorrow if Baylee wishes," he assured.
Maddie smiled politely and nodded, standing from her seat with a sigh, "Well, thanks again for saving me back there, I really appreciate it… should I come back tomorrow?"
