"Dancing dirty," Eve purred with a smirk as she picked up the remote, turned on the TV, and pressed the button to speak into it. "Where can I watch Dirty Dancing?"
"Dancing dirty," Eve purred with a smirk as she picked up the remote, turned on the TV, and pressed the button to speak into it. "Where can I watch Dirty Dancing?"
"Uh…" Rowan flushed a bit again, looking confused. "We're not watching anything… explicit, are we? Feel like we don't know each other well enough for that to not be awkward." The TV pulled up a streaming service that they could watch the movie on. Rowan just mooched off of all his parents services, so he had most of them.
Eve laughed. "No. It's a romance movie, and they fall in love through dancing. Ironic, isn't it?" she asked as she hit play.
"Alright, that's fine." Rowan yawned and leaned back against the couch as he settled in to watch the movie.
Eve sat beside him and placed the remote on the arm of the couch. "This movie inspired me to start dancing," she remarked as the introductions played. "How stupid is that?"
"I think it's sweet." Rowan smiled softly. "I've been dancing as long as I can remember… can you imagine a little four year old me doing ballet?"
Eve covered her mouth and giggled. "Really? I didn't start dancing until… 6th grade."
Rowan laughed softly as well. "Yeah, I did all sorts of stuff. Jazz, tap, ballet… been doing it for ages. The little girls used to tease me because I had to wear makeup for the competitions too. I think they were just jealous that I looked better than them."
Eve smiled. "I'm sure you did," she murmured. She instinctively found herself drawing to him, but she drew back a bit, hopefully before he realized.
Thankfully, Rowan didn't seem to notice. "Yeah… I definitely had fun with it when I was a kid. We had fun little themes for the recitals. Like, a circus theme one time? We were cotton candy."
Eve grinned. "I'd pay to see that," she laughed.
"I might have a picture somewhere, actually. My costume wasn't as exciting as the girl's cotton candy tutus." Rowan pulled out his phone to scroll through his pictures.
Eve leaned close to him so she could see, all but resting her head on his shoulder.
He soon found the picture and held it so Eve could see. He was tiny and honestly, pretty adorable in the picture. It was easy to pick him out since he was the only boy. "See, the girls got the fun outfits with sequin tops and big pink tutus, and I had a pink shirt and pink pants. And they did spray my hair pink for the day."
Eve tossed her head back and laughed. "Oh my God!" she cried. "That's brilliant!"
Rowan laughed softly as well. "Yeah, I didn't like the spray very much. Made my hair feel crunchy, and I was real particular about textures as a kid."
Something about the way he said it made Eve want to run her fingers through his hair, but she refrained. "I wouldn't have either. It looks dreadful."
"I had fun with the dancing part, though. You think I should dye my hair pink?" He asked with a grin.
"God, no," Eve replied quickly, grinning back. They'd subconsciously shifted closer on the couch, and she couldn't help herself – her eyes darted down to his lips for a quick second.
"Aww, but I'd look so pretty~" Rowan whined, suddenly noticing how close Eve was. He flushed a bit, but he didn't move away from her.
"I'm not saying you wouldn't," Eve replied softly. "I'm saying I like your hair the way it is now. Natural." She noted his flush and felt embarrassed. Don't force yourself on him. She backed away slightly, regretting it immediately. She still spared a quick glance at his lips.
"Ah?" Rowan flushed a bit more, clearly taken aback. He honestly wasn't really used to compliments, at least when they weren't exclusively attached to his dancing skills. He watched Eve curiously as she backed away, not entirely sure what to do. He'd already forgotten about the movie. I really shouldn't kiss her again…
"Yes," Eve breathed. She bit her lip hesitantly. God, she wanted to kiss him.
Although Rowan was normally confident while dancing, he was completely clueless and helpless when it came to this kind of thing. He could only think about why he shouldn't do this, and how bad the consequences would be, but the other part of him really just wanted to kiss Eve again. Her soft lips, soft hair, soft eyes… everything about her was soft and warm and safe, and the risk only made him more drawn to her. He never got to make his own decisions, so to do something like this was completely foreign to him, and so alluring.
Eve swallowed, intently studying every detail of Rowan's face. This wasn't right. He was her competition. Her enemy. No. Not sitting here he wasn't. Neither were paying any attention to the movie in the background. It was completely irrelevant as Eve suddenly bolted forward and pressed her lips against Rowan's in a spur-of-the-moment decision.
