"Oh, not much, sweetheart." Eric said,
"Oh, not much, sweetheart." Eric said,
"Well that's nice, dear," Jackson smirked over at him, "But really. Why was there a helicopter?"
Eric shrugged. "No clue, honestly." Eric said, reaching into his bag and pulling out the zine. A small stack of folded computer paper, covered in handwriting and drawings. "Let's see what's up this month!" He said, looking over the front quickly.
Jackson sat and swung back and forth beside him, "Anything interesting off the top?"
"There's a concert next week. Local band. Seems cool. Another person is trying to start a band." He said, rattling off some of the stuff on the first two pages.
"Your trying to start a band?" Jackson asked hearing his slight comment.
Eric laughed. "Nah, I'd annoy everyone else into quitting. Someone else is, they put in an ad with contact info. A bassist, apparently."
"Huh," Jackson said with a laugh, "I mean, you haven't annoyed me away yet."
"Yeah, how do you put up with me?" He asked, smiling slightly.
"Magic," Jackson gave jazz hands as he had a goofy grin on.
Eric snorted a bit. "Must be!"
Jackson gave a little laugh, "Yep, of course you also seem to keep hanging around me. Thought you would be tired of me at this point."
"Why would I? You're the only one willing to put up with me!" He said, smiling.
"Oh I'm sure there are others," Jax grinned back at him, "Like Johnny."
"Johnny hangs around me to annoy me." He said. "It's a vicious cycle, and someone needs to watch that kid."
“I think you like him,” Jackson smiled before realizing what he implied, “In a completely platonic way of course.”
Eric nodded. "Yeah, he's like my little brother." He said, shrugging. "But really, someone needs to watch that kid. He's gonna do something stupid and get hurt one of these days, I just know it."
“At least you’ll be there when he does,” Jax responded, “Hey what else is in the zine?”
Eric handed it over to him. "Here, take a look."
Jackson stopped his swing to grab the zine and began flipping through it, “Huh. So this is what punk culture is?”
Eric nodded. "Yep! DIY and trying to spread the word, sometimes with a person you don't know the true identity of!" Eric said, smiling.
Jax let out a little laugh before handing the zine back to Eric, “Seems like it. So are you doing any of that?”
"Might head to a few concerts." He said, shrugging. "Check out the songlist on the back."
“Cool,” Jackson nodded not making any other comments. What else could he really say?
Eric bit his lip. "You wanna come?" He asked quickly. No what wait what did we just do dID YOU JUST ASK HIM OUT?
