“Oh, anywhere, I won’t look.” he shrugged. While he was a much more experienced doctor than Anna, he was miles more absentminded and that could be misconstrued as a flaw to the right person.

She blinked a few times, eyes skittering around the room. "Ah…" sure, maybe he wouldn't look, but that didn't mean she wanted to change in plain view of them both. She was a bit more modest than that.
Anna chimed in. "She needs a room, J." she said, suddenly feeling a lot less ashamed. "A room? Oh, to change in. Yes, that sounds like a good idea now that you think of it." he said, leading her to a spare room he reserved for when Anna put guests in his care. "Change in here, then come back to the operating theater."
Elanor nodded a little bit, clearing her throat. "Yes. Ah. Thank you." she said, closing the door to the spare room and looking around it. After a moment, she started to get changed, grateful Anna had said something so she didn't have to.
Jekyll started to prepare his operating instruments, not expecting to need to do anything more than redo the stitches and clean the inevitable infection there. Anna watched him carefully, she always was eager to learn from her old mentor.
Elanor finished changing, then came back. She looked a bit uncomfortable in the operating gown, but at least she had not had to change in plain sight; she was a little too modest for that. "Thank you, Anna." she said softly, giving the other woman a little smile.
"Henry just doesn't want your clothes getting dirty, is all. He'll probably prescribe you some morphine for the pain too, no doubt." she explained, smiling in return. "Ah, Elanor! Sit down on the operating table, I'll attend to you in a moment." said Jekyll.
She nodded slowly, then did as Jekyll asked. This all seemed strange to her, but then, she was not the one with medical training. He and Anna were, and while she did not quite trust Jekyll, she trusted Anna. Maybe that was a mistake. But she did.
“Look, he’s a good man, as far as the word man goes to describe him.” Anna whispered. “I’m sure you’ll be just fine.” she added, patting Elanor on the shoulder. Henry walked over to the operating table, waiting for Elanor patiently and good-naturedly to be ready for him to work on her.
Her brows knotted faintly at the way Anna described Jekyll, but didn't question what she could mean by that. She sat down on the operating table, laying down on it and looking up at the ceiling.
Henry looked Elanor in the eyes, not staring but more meeting her on her level in a way. “I’m ready to begin when you are. How comfortable are you with pain medication? I won’t give you anything to make you fall asleep, but you may feel a little drowsy.” he explained.
"I'm fine with taking medication if it is necessary." She replied softly, returning Jekyll's gaze steadily. Anna would be here. It would be fine. Jekyll wouldn't do anything to her. She took a deep breath, adjusting the hospital gown.
Jekyll nodded. "Just a bit of morphine. Now, can you tell me a bit about your situation? Or would you prefer to tell Anna, and have her fill me in on what is needed to know?" he asked, a common tactic in talking to asylum patients when he rarely went down to talk to them, effective nonetheless in being nonviolent in finding out what is happening to them. He preferred to keep the abuse limited, and never from him if the asylum deemed it necessary to happen. It had been a long time since he'd been a patient there, he didn't think that the staff would recognize him anymore but he still kept his visits brief. He usually used this tactic because if the person had someone they trusted, they'd tell that person anything to get out and Jekyll could use that information to get them out, and probably to one of Anna's contacts, who could get them secure safety and work.
"I was stabbed. The blade had some poison on it." She replied slowly. "But that's all. Nothing more complicated than that." She hoped she didn't need to go into why she was stabbed; that was far more complicated and a bit nerve-wracking, too. There were too many secrets wrapped up in that, and she didn't want to tell…well, either of them, to be honest.
"Ah." was all Jekyll said, while Elanor had been talking he'd taken a needle and injected her with some painkiller, morphine. He liked to keep his patients distracted, it made things much easier to deal with and besides, it was less noticeable pain for the patient. "Well, poison doesn't disperse quickly. I suppose Anna told you it was some sort of opiate or cocaine, she never notices the symptoms. If you knew what type of poison it was, I could prescribe you an antidote, otherwise I'll need to just hope the poison disperses." Jekyll talked as he worked, he was halfway through stitching up Elanor by the end of his sentence.
She took a breath as he removed the needle again, nodding slowly. It wasn't long before the drug took effect. The whole room seemed slowed down and a little hazy, and she was…well, a little drowsy now. She knew it was probably the drug, but still. Everything felt mellowed down and relaxed.
When Jekyll finished, he took some solution from the tray beside him, wiping up the wound and then seeing if any blood was still leaking. There wasn't. Anna watched in awe, she wished she could be like that more than anything, careful and practiced and decent at things instead of… her. Henry put some bandages on the wound, although unlike how Anna's had wrapped around Elanor's sides these only had to cover some skin, just a patch over and around the wound. He then motioned to Anna, who carried Elanor to the guest room and tucked her into bed.
Elanor blinked up at Anna when she was carried. "Oh. He's done?" she asked, voice soft and a little slurred and hazy. That felt…quick. Maybe because Jekyll had more experience? He knew what he was doing? Or something. She wasn't sure. Everything seemed hazy and slow.
(I’m thinking that Anna could have a scene where like. Elanor is in fact about to give birth but she’s still living with Jekyll and despite all his medical expertise he has to call on Anna, because mans don’t know shit about babies and Anna really could help. Idk it seems plausible.)

Anna nodded. “We’ll keep you under observation for a while, but it seems like you’ll be… okay… maybe? At least you won’t be in as much pain.” she settled on that, that would do for now. “And J isn’t that bad at what he does, I’d say. Much better than I am. Now sleep.”

(Ooh yes that would be awesome!)

Elanor nodded a little bit, settling into the mattress. "Okay." She said softly, her eyes flickering shut. With how drowsy she already was from the medication, it didn't take long for her to fall asleep.

(Glad you like the idea! And then, cue Anna raising several crazy kids, Elanor by her side, and also they are in love, idk??)

Anna left, placing Elanor's sword by her side, still sheathed. Hopefully, it would stay that way, but London was not a kind city despite having kind people within its walls. Usually, though, it was emotional in nature the cruelties laid upon one in the city, gossip and mockery rather than grand duels. When Elanor woke up, she would find Jekyll cleaning up the guest room, a little obsessively. "Oh, you're up!" he said, when he finally noticed her open eyes.
