(I know my poor gorgeous bb!)
Casey looked at Luca, tilting her head to the side. She obviously had experience with this organization. “What about us? Do you think they’ll be expecting a team of six? Will they be able to sway us if they wanted?”
Luca's eyes stormed over, her sweet playful nature disappearing into a stoic woman. After a moment of thought she responded. "I doubt they'll be expecting a small team of criminals. But they will be ready for anything. We won't have the element of surprise."
"Alright." Casey thought for a moment. "How possible do you think it would be for us to get in and out without them even noticing?" she asked, her voice quiet.
"Fifty maybe sixty percent possible we're not seen. Odds are not in our favor, Boss." Luca breathed, gently putting down her bag of chips.
"Well, I can take out as many security cameras as possible," Sam spoke up for the first time during the meeting. "And maybe mess with comm signals for the security guards."
"That's perfect, Sam. And low odds have never stopped us before," Casey said, sighing, contemplating. She stood and grabbed a roll of paper off the counter and rolled it out onto the table. She pulled up a file on her computer and turned her laptop around so everyone could see it. A rough sketch of what was on her laptop had also been copied down onto the paper. "This is the current layout the American government has on the Nebtali's fortress. They don't have all of it and several men have apparently died getting this information, etcetera, etcetera, you know the drill," Casey's voice was somewhere between bored and nonchalant.
Casey indicated a part of the map. "This is labeled as 'dining room' and this room is labeled as 'ballroom'. My guess is that the party, auction, and execution shindig are happening in this area of the fortress. We will need to get the lay of the land, find out what's being put up for auction, and find out who is being executed, before we strike."
"So.…." Sam studied the image, raising an eyebrow. "You want to send out a scouting party? Or should I just try to hack into their cameras from now?"
"No, we will be doing the infiltrating ourselves," Casey said, studying the map. "Maybe we can get some invitations to this party. Hopefully, my newest contact could help with that part," she muttered.
"Who's the contact?" Sam asked, curiosity peaking. He raised his head, brushing strands of ash-blond hair from his forehead. "And how will they be able to help?"
Cam set a hand under his cheek and huffed softly. Sam really needed to learn to keep his questions until the end. That’s how it worked. With the meeting itself, when Luca was speaking it was impressive, Cameron would easily hand her that. But now the meeting was just boring to him. Infiltration via party invite is just… ugh. Of course, they had to be smart, and this was the smartest thing to do, possibly.
Luca cocked a brow. "Warner's kid." She said, impressed that Casey was able to work him so fast. "I would say that the party is the easiest way to get in a scope out the place, but really doing the deal during that time period? Seems a little obvious no?"
She leaned over form her perch on top of the fridge inspecting the plans Casey had laid out. Luca was mentally calculating the acrobatic work that she may need to do for the job and which party dress she would be able to move freely in, should she need to do so.
Casey's whirring mind briefly noticed Cameron sighing, but she elected to ignore it. She had more important things to focus on. "Exactly," she said, finally looking up from the map. "Warner mentioned the party wanting us to get the Prolieum during it. Rookie mistake, and the reason why we are the ones doing the mission, not him."
(Bump)
(Ahhhhhhh this can't dieeeeeee)
(I knowwwwww. Should I just wrap up the meeting, she can go yell at Cam and then they can go?)
(Sounds Good to me lol
I have evil writer plans for their confrontation.)
(Oh lovely. Could someone respond just real quick so I don’t post two things in a row?)
(Ummmm overthinking
So just have Cam be grumpy or what?)
(Sure. Or something like asking what they’re going to do? Actually being grumpy or snappy would be good)
(Oh yes let me just combine all of those)
Cam shifted in his chair, looking mildly irritated by now. "Right. And what exactly are we going to do, then, Casey? Most of us know what a Rookie mistake is, you know," His dissatisfaction in the meeting was obvious in the deep folds of his gritty voice.
Casey smiled. “Pardon my thinking-out-loud and my basking-in-the-idiocy-of-Warner Cameron. I am sorry, did you have other things to do than discuss this highly dangerous, multi billion dollar mission?”
Cam glowered at her hotly, looking bristly and hostile. "No. Not a word," was his brief response, which was really most unlike him. He always had a question or two to ask, as they knew already.
“Lovely,” Casey said, fighting the urge to roll her eyes. “Unless anyone else has anything to say, I think we can adjourn this meeting. We are leaving early tomorrow morning so be here and ready to go at seven AM, sharp. And Cameron, please meet me in my office,” Casey said, gesturing down the hall, still standing at the table.
(Did we want to take it to our PM?)
