Casey scribbled notes on the large papers lying on her desk. Some were the blueprints of the Nebtali's base - or what the US Government knew about it at least. Another was the information Warner had given her of Prolieum, chemical compounds and such. Three of them were dedicated to mapping out different scenarios. She expected many things to go wrong, and she had to be prepared for them when they did.
Casey looked down at her phone. She had to make the call at some point. She rolled her eyes and picked up the receiver, punching in the number of the burner phone she had given Seth.
Shame on Seth for thinking he could get a decent nap in.
He growled in frustration as the small phone he was given rang. With blurred eyes, he read the Caller ID: Casey. He smiled, thinking of the pretty miss he'd had the pleasure of becoming partners with. He pressed the answer button and sat up in his bed with a groan.
"City Morgue," He grunted, his voice husky with sleep. "You kill em', we chill em'. What can I do for you?"
“We’re you asleep?” Casey demanded. She had told him to be on standby and be ready at any time. And here he was, sleeping and making jokes.
((Aww, thankies! I love how annoyed she is with him alreadyXD))
"Yes." He answered, dragging a hand through his bed head. "I'm sorry I didn't dream about you, love. I'll try harder." He smirked. Oh, how easy it was to get under her skin. He loved it. "What do you need, cupcake?"
Casey suppressed her sigh. She couldn’t let Seth hear that. “I’m sending my car to pick you up and bring you to my apartment. Be ready in five minutes.”
"Ooh~ Your apartment? Casey….I didn't know we were on those kind of terns. Why didn't you tell me before?" His voice took on a deeper tone. "I'll be ready in four, alright Cupcake?"
"See you then," Casey said, trying not to hang up the phone too quickly. She told herself this was necessary. He had to meet the team at some point. And doing it before they left was preferable. She texted her driver, telling him to pick up Seth and bring him to the apartment. She opened up the security cameras on her computer, then started on her notes again.
After Casey hung up, Seth reclined back against his head board. Tossing the phone to the side he smiled. "More like four–ty five minutes." He laughed. No way was he rushing for a driver that could wait — no, had to wait– for him to be ready. Sliding out of bed, he turned on his bluetooth speakers and prepared for a nice, hot shower.
Sam clenched his teeth against a fresh wave of panic as he stashed his gadgets in a pack, trying to get himself to calm down.
You're pathetic, he spat internally, clenching and unclenching his fists until they stopped shaking. No one else is freaking out. And you won't even be in the thick of it, you're the hacker. Not one of the fighters. So get a hold of yourself and finish your packing.
Sliding his laptop into the bag, he did a final sweep of the room, searching for anything else he might need. Focus, idiot. They're depending on you.
Casey looked at the clock. It had been 15 minutes since she had spoken to Seth. There was no sign of him on any of her security cameras. She texted her driver, wondering what was going on, and he told her he hadn't come out yet. Casey sighed. Fine. She texted her driver instructions, sending him busting through the door of the room Seth was staying in.
He looked around and didn't see Seth, but did hear music and running water coming from the bathroom. He shoved the door open with a loud bang, finding Seth standing in the shower, soap and water dripping from him.
(Sorry I kinda imagined in my head that Seth takes long showers in my head, if that's okay)
(dies from laughter– OMG I love casey and seth)
(I have evil visions of Casey's driver dumping a dripping wet Seth in her office in nothing but a towel. Butttttt we'll see what happens)
Seth was armed by the time the behemoth swung the door open, his lip curled in a nasty snarl and his handgun raised. Seth fired two shots near the man's head before he registered the fact that he recognized him.
"Really? You're interrupting me, dude? In the shower?" Seth barked. He hadn't even been in the shower very long, ten minutes at the least. "Wow, Cupcake's really gonna need to work on that patience." He tsked. "Hey, while you're hear, get you dial her up? I'd like to talk to her as I'm getting dress. Try and stop me, and do my best to blow a hold through you, Porky Pig."
The man did not look fazed by the gun pointing at his head. He looked pointedly at the phone that Casey had given Seth, which was lying on the bathroom counter, then looked back at Seth. His eyes seemed to say, 'You do it."
Seth looked at the man long and hard, but disinterest soon filled his eyes when he figured he wasn't getting what he wanted. "Alright." He shrugged and continued to clean himself off, washing the soap off his body. After he was finished, he shut off the shower water and threw the curtain open. "Honest, Porky, you don't even have the decency to leave?" Seth tsked as he wrapped a towel about his waist. He picked up the phone and dialed Casey once more.

Casey lazily picked up the phone and put the reciver to her ear. “So I don’t think you understand how this works. You are to be placed when I tell you to be. It’s incredibly simple.”
Seth laughed. "Number one…" He drawled. "You are a very impatient woman." Seth muttered as he turned, musing his black curls in the mirror. He shouldered past the behemoth and strolled into his bedroom. He'd laid out his clothes before his shower so he got straight to dressing, the small phone snug between his shoulder and ear.
"And number two, I'm not one of your little pets. I don't play fetch until the mission, got it, Cupcake?" His voice was firm and sharp. "I will still be stress free and rich whether I help you or not. I can't say the same about you…" Seth smirked as he buttoned his shirt. "This is an agreement, not an employment."
Now it was Casey’s turn to laugh. She lounged back in her chair. “Number one, I run a criminal empire. I know exactly when I should and should not be patient. Number two, do you really think I need you that badly? You are a very small drop in a very large ocean. You’re definitely not essential. So I suggest you stop acting as such.”
