Casey closed her eyes for a moment, took a deep breath, then opened them and walked out of the room, much more somber than before. "I apologize for that. Do you two have any questions?" she asked Julie and Samuel.

Last post for tonight.))
Sol attempted a smile and nodded. She wandered back to her room and aimlessly pulled on underwear and clothing, ending up wearing a large Queen shirt and sweatpants. She just sat and looked at her wall for a while, not making a movement, barely breathing or blinking. She shook herself out of her daze and sighed. These things happen. He was awesome while he was here, now he's not. Remember that and move on, but never forget. she took out her phone and watched a Bo Burnham show without headphones, and was truly smiling part of the way through.
Julie took in the woman’s sudden change in mood, her mind trying out the different pieces before successfully fitting them together into a puzzle that made sense. You couldn’t have a team like this without a hacker— for them to be hiring, something must have happened to the last one, and recently. She offered a somewhat sympathetic smile, cheeks dimpling. “I don’t think so, not yet.”
Casey smiled. "Great. Julie, if you wouldn't mind following me?" Casey started down the long hallway to her office. When she got there she went to a small table by the door containing a tray. "Please, close the door behind you."
Julie gave her brother’s hand a squeeze before following Casey down the hallway, silently admiring the touches of expensive decor. She did as she was told and shut the door firmly behind her, turning back to the woman who would hopefully be her future boss. “Where should I sit?” Just breathe.. You’ve got this. Make a good impression.
"That chair is fine," Casey said, indicating the chair in front of her desk. She set out two teacups. "Would you like tea or coffee?" Casey's tone indicated that Julie would have to choose one.
(I'm gonna go to bed now, I'll respond more in the morning)
(Gnight)
Plopping herself down in the designated seat, Julie have a casual toss of her hair. “Coffee, please,” she decided, allowing her eyes to drift over each detail of the office. Her instincts automatically kicked in— within five seconds she’d located all the possible exits and objects to be used as a way of defense, if it was needed. Not that she was expecting that to happen— but t was good to be prepared.
(oH FUCKING GREAT ERIS)
Eris can't tell is this is sarcasm or a genuine compliment

Casey poured the coffee into the cup, the sharp smell hitting her nose. Coffee, she thought in her head. Hopefully the rest of the interview went better than this. Coffee. Casey poured herself some tea, and prepared the cup. "Do you take cream or sugar in your coffee, Ms. Carlson?"
“Cream. And please, just call me Julie.” She could feel the tension hanging between them, and hastened to cut it. “I’m assuming that I’ll have to crack a code of some sort to prove my skills?”
"I am well aware of your skills, Julie." Casey walked over to her desk and set the cream, a spoon, and Julie's coffee down in front of her. "Your file has provided me with sufficient information to determine your skills," she said as she sat down behind her desk. "This interview is more to decide how well you would fit in with my team. Our dynamic and how we work together is important to the survival of this team. Though, of course, I suppose it would be wise of me to see you 'crack a code' just to see how you work. Though I didn't have anything prepared. I hate to admit that I haven't the foggiest how your line of work functions."
Julie have a nod of understanding, practically radiating confidence— but not to the snobbish extent where she assumed that she would get the job. But she wasn’t overly nervous, that much was clear by her posture and smile. “Makes sense.”
"So Julie," Casey said, folding her hands in front of her. She focused her unsettling gaze on Julie. "Tell me about how you . . . function."
Refusing to be intimidated, Julie met her possible future boss's eyes unflinchingly, smile never faltering. "I work well both solo and with a team. I'm not exactly a leader, but not a follower either, so sort of right in the middle. I know when it's necessary to take risks, and I know when it's not. Is that what you meant by 'function'?"
"Yes," Casey said simply. "Tell me about what you value most about yourself."
Julie thought for a moment, biting down on her bottom lip. "If I had to say.. I think I value my problem-solving skills the most. My ability to look at things from different angles– life is a puzzle to me, and I'm trying to solve it piece by piece."
(Ugghhhhhh I'm not smart enough to have this conversation or have Casey ask the questions she should ask. Sorry it may take me a bit to think about this)
